Mulder was watching for Scully through the room window and within seconds of her parking he opened the passanger door and sat down without a word.
Scully waiting a few seconds before speaking. "Mulder are you okay?"
Mulder pointed behind the car. "Head east. Stop at the coffee shop."
Scully pulled onto the main road and headed east. The only sound in the car was the radio playing an old Johnny Cash song. Scully spun the radio knob silent. "Mulder, what happened."
Mulder snickered, appearing partly insane for a few seconds before his solemn expression returned. "I don't know. I remember random parts. A creature. I wasn't supposed to see it."
Scully pulled into the coffee shop and Mulder opened the door and got out of the car before Scully had completely stopped the vehicle. She followed Mulder into the shop and saw him already seated. Just as she sat down across from him a waitress started her routine at the table. "Welcome ya'll. Feel free to look over the menus. We have--"
Mulder interrupted. "Black coffee and pecan pie."
The waitress dropped her smile and turned to Scully. "Just coffee please. Thank you."
She walked away and Scully reached out to Mulder's hand. "Please tell me what you remember." Mulder pulled away from her and leaned back against the seat. "I can't make sense of the pictures in my head or else I would."
Bells clanked together as a thin, older man walked into the cafe. He adjusted his suit and walked to a table four tables away from Mulder and Scully. Mulder had his head in his hands starting at the table top. The older man lit a cigarette and Mulder smelled it. "Isn't it against the law to smoke in public in Alabama?" He stood before Scully could answer and walked to where the man was sitting. Mulder slammed his hand on the table before the man looked up.
Scully still sat at the table and was watching Mulder. She recognized the older man and said to herself, "Cancer Man
Mulder didn't wait for the man to speak. "What are you doing here?!"
