THE GLORIOUS SABBATH
IN THE MYSTERIOUS SANCTUARY

PROCLAIMING THE SABBATH MORE FULLY

THE ANCIENT HEBREW CALENDAR, AND HILLEL II


The main Orthodox Jewish calendar in use today, Hillel II, abides by the exact reckoning of 52 and 22 days for the seven annual feasts.  This principle is maintained from the ancient Hebrew calendar (Hillel I) used in Old Testament times until the middle of the fourth century C.E. when the Hillel II calendar was adopted.  The differences between the ancient Hebrew calendar and the Hillel II calendar are as follows.


(1)The ancient Hebrew calendar begins the sacred year on the first new moon after the spring equinox (in order to have ripe barley for the Wave Sheaf offering), while the Hillel II calendar begins the first month with the new moon nearest the spring equinox.


(2)Since the time of the crucifixion of the Messiah in 31 C.E. there has never been a Friday Passover scheduled for the spring feast days.   According to the Hillel II calendar, the Passover will always be postponed or advanced a day if the first new moon of the sacred year ever occurs on a seventh-day Sabbath, thus avoiding a Friday Passover.  


(3)As was the practice in the ancient Hebrew calendar, the Jews today (for the fall feast days only), will still postpone or advance a day if the new moon can be on a seventh-day Sabbath, sometimes going by an invisible new moon which would be near the time of conjunction, and sometimes going by the first sighting,  as can be seen in  Hillel II calendar today (see Hebcal).
 This is also made very evident by looking at the new moon of the 7th  month of the sacred year in 27 C.E. as the Day of Atonement that year fell on a seventh day Sabbath , and then looking at the new moon for the year 31 C.E. when the Passover occurred on a Friday.   (See perpetual moon phase calendar.)  

  Since there was no ripe barley for the Wave Sheaf when using the Hillel II calendar in 1844, early Adventists calculated the feasts days by using the ancient Hebrew reckoning, this caused the Day of Atonement to fall on Tuesday October 22 in 1844, instead of Monday, September 23.    There must be ripe barley for the Wave Sheaf offering on the 16th day of the first Hebrew month.   This is the reason the ancient Hebrew calendar should be used today.  Actually, both of these calendars agree about half of the time for the fall feast days,  and they are in agreement on the four perfect  sets of Sabbath alignments within the fall feasts in the 49th and 50th years that occur now in our time.    

A DETAILED RECAP OF THE SHADOWY SABBATHS


Many have wrongly classified all seven of the annual feasts (1) Passover, (2) Week of Unleavened Bread, (3) Wave Sheaf (4) Day of Pentecost, (5) Feasts of Trumpets, (6) Day of Atonement, (7) Feast of Tabernacles as “shadowy Sabbaths”, rather than accepting the plainly illustrated teachings of our Lord to Moses, where He actually specifies precisely, which feast days are the “shadowy Sabbaths”, and which are not.

However, one must use a literal translation, like the KJV of the Bible, or Young's Literal Translation.  Satan has led in the creation of many different versions of the Bible to confuse the minds of men, and to keep them from understanding the glorious plan that God has revealed through these “shadowy” Sabbaths.

Many false under Shepherds behind the pulpits in the Churches of today exalt their own ideas (which in many cases are deliberate deception, but in some cases are just plain ignorance, the blind leading the blind) above the plain Holy Word of God by changing the timing of the “shadowy” Sabbaths, so that no one can make rhyme or reason out of what they are meant to teach.   All must search the Scriptures for themselves or be deceived by Satan and his agents.    



DAYS SPECIFIED AS SABBATHS IN THE SPRING FEASTS
USING A LITERAL TRANSLATION OF THE BIBLE LIKE THE  KJV.

         (1)   The day after Passover                                                A SHADOWY SABBATH

         (2)     The first day of  Unleavened Bread                            A SHADOWY SABBATH

         (3)     The day before Wave Sheaf                                       A SHADOWY SABBATH

         (4)     The day after the 7th day of Unleavened Bread         A SHADOWY SABBATH

         (5)     The 6 other Sabbaths    to The Day of Pentecost       A SHADOWY SABBATH

(A)   The day after Passover, the 15th day which is the first day of the 7 days of Unleavened Bread—the day before Wave Sheaf—Wave Sheaf always occurred on the 16th day which was the second day of the 7 days of Unleavened Bread (and the third day from Passover,) this makes the first day of the 7 days of  Unleavened Bread a Sabbath.   The result of this, is that the Wave Sheaf always occurs on the morrow after the Sabbath (shadowy Sabbath).  

 Leviticus 23:11- And he shall wave the sheaf before the LORD, to be accepted for you: on the morrow after the sabbath the priest shall wave it.  

Jesus taught Moses, and later, His disciples, the prophecy that Passover occurs a day before a Sabbath and that the Wave Sheaf offering occurs on the third day from Passover, “on the morrow after the Sabbath the priest shall wave it.” Leviticus 23:11 KJV.  To His disciples He said, “Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day.” Luke 24:46
“...and that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:” 1 Corinthians 15:4 KJV  Jesus was the first fruits and His resurrection took place on the very day that the Wave Sheaf offering was waved before the Lord.

Whenever the “shadowy” Sabbath comes on the seventh-day Sabbath, it is termed an “high day”.  In 31 C.E., the day after Passover was a seventh-day Sabbath. “The Jews therefore, because it was the preparation, that the bodies should not remain upon the cross on the Sabbath day, (for that Sabbath day was an high day,)” John 19:31 KJV

(B)   The day after the 7th day of Unleavened Bread, which is the first Sabbath in the seven Sabbath count to the day before the Day of Pentecost.   This is clearly seen in the following text.    

 Leviticus 23:15, 16- And ye shall count unto you from the morrow after the Sabbath, from the day that ye brought the sheaf of the wave offering; seven Sabbaths shall be complete: Even unto the morrow after the seventh Sabbath shall ye number fifty days;

From this evidence, we can see that Passover comes one day before a “shadowy” Sabbath, Wave Sheaf comes one day after a “shadowy” Sabbath, the seventh day of Unleavened Bread comes one day before a shadowy Sabbath and the Day of Pentecost comes one day after a shadowy Sabbath.  

From God's teaching to Moses in Leviticus, the Day of Pentecost, the last spring feast, comes on the morrow after the seventh “shadowy” Sabbath.  In 31 C.E. this feast day met fulfillment on the appointed day, on the morrow after the seventh “shadowy” Sabbath,  and also, a morrow after a seventh-day Sabbath that year.   This event is historically recognized as occurring on a Sunday.

“And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.  And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.” Act 2:1, 2 KJV

In the fulfillment of the spring feasts, in the year of Jesus' crucifixion, this is exactly how the “shadowy” Sabbaths fell within the weekly cycle of days, all 8 of them came on seventh-day-Sabbaths that year.

 “These types were fulfilled, not only as to the event, but as to the time. On the fourteenth day of the first Jewish month, the very day and month on which, for fifteen long centuries, the passover lamb had been slain, Christ, having eaten the passover with his disciples, instituted that feast which was to commemorate his own death as “the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.”  That same night he was taken by wicked hands, to be crucified and slain. And as the antitype of the wave-sheaf, our Lord was raised from the dead on the third day, “the first-fruits of them that slept,” [1 Corinthians 15:20.] a sample of all the resurrected just, whose “vile body” shall be changed, and “fashioned like unto his glorious body.” [Philippians 3:21.]  GC88 399.

“In like manner, the types which relate to the second advent must be fulfilled at the time pointed out in the symbolic service.” GC 399.  E.G. White


DAYS SPECIFIED AS SABBATHS IN THE FALL FEASTS
USING A LITERAL TRANSLATION OF THE BIBLE LIKE THE  KJV.

(1)   Feast of Trumpets Leviticus 23:24                                  A  SHADOWY  SABBATH

(2)   Day of Atonement  Leviticus 23:27                                 A  SHADOWY  SABBATH

(3)   1st day of Feast of Tabernacles Leviticus 23:34             A  SHADOWY  SABBATH

(4)   8th day of Feast of Tabernacles Leviticus 23:36             A  SHADOWY  SABBATH
      

“...In the seventh month, in the first [day] of the month, shall ye have a Sabbath,” Leviticus 23:24  “Also on the tenth [day] of this seventh month... It [shall be] unto you a Sabbath of rest,” 27  “...The fifteenth day of this seventh month...on the first day [shall be] a Sabbath, and on the eighth day [shall be] a Sabbath.” 34, 36

The surface reader will assume that the fall feast days cannot all come on seventh-day Sabbaths  because the Day of  Atonement is on the 10th day of the month, the honest reply can be made, that it is only because it comes on the 10th day that it can come on the seventh-day Sabbath.
 
There are many mysteries revealed in the four “shadowy” Sabbaths of the fall feasts, and in order to unlock their prophetic significance, one needs to search out other pieces of evidence directly related to these Sabbaths,  which are also revealed in the Holy Scriptures.  

1.One of these mysteries is that the Day of Atonement occurs on the 10th day of the month, if it occurred on any other day it could not fulfill its prophetic Sabbath role in the Jubilee year, which is the year of its prime fulfillment.   Always remember the prime fulfillment of the Day of Atonement is in the year of Jubilee.  Leviticus 25:8-10.

2.Another mystery of the fall feasts is that the Feast of Tabernacles has its prime fulfillment only in the Sabbatical year.  Deuteronomy 31:10-16.

3.The year just before the year of Jubilee is a Sabbatical year, so here is the answer as to why the Day of Atonement falls on the 10th day.  For it is only then, that all the shadowy Sabbaths in the fall feast days can be fulfilled on seventh-day Sabbaths, in the year of their prime fulfillment's.  

Whenever the three “shadowy Sabbaths” in the fall feast days fall on the seventh-day Sabbath, the fourth “shadowy Sabbath”, the Day of Atonement always falls on the seventh-day Sabbath, the very next year.   To repeat again, in this way all of the “shadowy” Sabbaths in the fall feast days, actually occur on seventh-day Sabbaths in the year of their prime fulfillment the 49th and 50th years (the Sabbatical year and the year of Jubilee.)  

What an amazing phenomena to behold, an obvious illustration of the genius ability of the author and designer, who is none other then, our Lord Jesus Christ.    Here one can see, that this could only have been designed by a mastermind.

THE 7 DIFFERENT KINDS OF SABBATHS


The first two of these Sabbaths have been discussed earlier, the seventh-day Sabbath and the “shadowy” (ceremonial) Sabbaths.  With the remaining five, there are a total of  7 different kinds of Sabbaths brought to view in God's plan of salvation.  The following statement shows us the actual meaning of the number 7. 

 “The number 7 indicates completeness, and is symbolic of the fact that the messages extend to the end of time” AA p.585.3,

When all 7 of the different kinds of SABBATHS line up at one place in time, the evidence in this five part study will show that we will then have arrived at the end of time,   THE LAST GREAT SABBATH JUBILEE.

  From the time of Jesus to our time, there have been no perfect alignments of the  “shadowy Sabbaths (with seventh-day Sabbaths) in the fall feast days, in the seventh Sabbatical and Jubilee years, when using the principles of the HI calendar ( which is the ancient Hebrew calendar). This can be seen from the information available in the calendar Hebcal (the Hillel II Hebrew calendar).

But now at the end of the six thousand years we see four distinct perfect sets of alignments in these specific years, all in our time, and then there are no more alignments of the “shadowy” Sabbaths (with seventh-day Sabbaths) in the fall feast days in the Sabbatical and Jubilee years, even though one looks a thousand years in the future, when using the principles of HI the  ancient Hebrew calendar. 

This data was obtained from the  perpetual Hebrew Calendar (hebcal), the Hebrew Calendar in use by the majority of the Jewish  people today. 

Amazingly, we see that both the ancient Hebrew calendar HI and the Hillel II calender perfectly agree in the years of these four rare alignments.   

The ancient Hebrew calendar, in use during the time of Christ  was used until the middle of the fourth century C.E. (except that from the time of Jesus crucifixion till today, there has never been a seventh-day Sabbath allowed on the new moon of the first month), in consequence there has never been a Friday Passover since the crucifixion till today.

In the middle of the fourth century C.E., the Hillel II calendar was adopted.  However, some classes of Jews continue using the ancient Hebrew calendar today.


  THE SEVEN DIFFERENT KINDS OF SABBATHS   


1.THE HOLY SEVENTH-DAY SABBATH (WEEKLY):

The seventh-day Sabbath is the very hub from which all of the other types of Sabbaths emanate and receive their glory.  The seventh-day Sabbath is calculated from the cycle of the sun alone, whereas, all the other types of Sabbaths are calculated from the cycle of the moon, aided by the sun.  Therefore, the seventh-day Sabbath shines the brightest of them all, just as the sun shines brighter than the moon. 

The seventh-day Sabbath is not prophecy, a type, or a shadow, whereas all the other 6 different kinds of Sabbaths are a prophecy, a type, and a shadow of the seventh-day Sabbath, In the same way as the sun is the originator of the light, and the  moon is only a reflector of that light.     

“Speak thou also unto the children of Israel, saying, Verily my Sabbaths ye shall keep: for it [is] a sign between me and you throughout your generations; that [ye] may know that I [am] the LORD that doth sanctify you....    It [is] a sign between me and the children of Israel for ever: for [in] six days the LORD made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested, and was refreshed.” Exodus 31:13, 17.

“And I gave them my statutes, and showed them my judgments, which [if] a man do, he shall even live in them.  Moreover also I gave them my Sabbaths, to be a sign between me and them, that they might know that I [am] the LORD that sanctify them.” Ezekiel 20:11,12.

“ I [am] the LORD your God; walk in my statutes, and keep my judgments, and do them; 
And hallow my Sabbaths; and they shall be a sign between me and you, that ye may know that I [am] the LORD your God.” Ezekiel 20:19, 20.

“For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day.  There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.  For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God [did] from his.  Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.” Hebrews 4:9-11.

“And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.  And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.” Genesis 2:2,3. 

“Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.  Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:  But the seventh day [is] the Sabbath of the LORD thy God: [in it] thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that [is] within thy gates:  For [in] six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them [is], and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day, and hallowed it.” Exodus 20:8-11.

   
2. THE (SHADOWY) SABBATHS:

The (shadowy) Sabbaths are calculated from the new moon, and occur in an exact seven-day sequence, as does the seventh-day Sabbath.   All shadowy Sabbaths are calculated from only two of the new moons of the sacred year, the first new moon, and the seventh or last new moon, even though some of the shadowy Sabbaths extend into the third month of the sacred year. 

3. THE SEVEN (SHADOWY) SABBATHS:
The seven shadowy Sabbaths, an exact week of shadowy Sabbaths, are to be counted from the day of the Wave Sheaf offering and reach to the 49th day.  The 50th day, the day after the seventh shadowy Sabbath, is the Feast of Pentecost.   The Day of Pentecost is the first day after a shadowy  Sabbath, similar to the first day in the weekly cycle.  This 50-day period is a miniature replication of the Jubilee cycle of years, showing that the Jubilee immediately follows the seven Sabbath years.  All the shadowy Sabbaths are designed to prophesy exactly where the seventh-day Sabbaths would be, at the time when the feast days would meet their fulfillment in the new covenant. 

4. THE SEVENTH MONTH:
The seventh month is the Sabbath month.  The Jewish sacred year has only seven months in which all the annual feasts (those appointed by God) occur.  In the seventh month which begins on the seventh new moon of the sacred year, the closing events of the plan of redemption are typified in 22 literal days.  Lev. 23:24

5.THE SABBATH YEARS (SABBATICAL YEARS):
Like the days of the week, the years are also counted in a cycle of seven, a week of years, with the seventh year being the Sabbath year. The cycle of seven in God's calendar, whether with days or years or weeks of years, was never interrupted or disturbed.  In the seventh year the land rested, as a reminder of the seventh millennium in which the earth will rest.  It is also called a “year of release”Deuteronomy 15:1, since certain Hebrew slaves were set free in the Sabbath year, (and this took place on the Day of  Atonement.)  All other slaves were released in the “great year of release”, the Jubilee.    And  as in the Sabbatical year, this great release also took place on the Day of Atonement. LEV. 25:1-7

6. THE SABBATH OF SABBATH YEARS:
The week of Sabbath years, 7 X 7 years, or 49 years, was to illustrate that the Jubilee year was to occur immediately after the seventh Sabbatical year.  The Jubilee was the first year in a new beginning, in a new set of seven years.  The 7 Sabbath years foreshadows the alignment of ALL 7 of the different kinds of Sabbaths, in one area of time, which signals the end of time.

7. THE SABBATH MILLENNIUM:
The Sabbath millennium will begin immediately after the sixth millennium is completed. “...one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.” 2 Peter 3:8.   

In the Spirit of Prophecy there are more than a dozen references to the six thousand years being the time allotted for the working of Satan in the demonstration of sin.  The seventh millennium begins when all  of these separate and distinct Sabbaths are aligned at the time of the end.  Then will begin the seventh millennium, the great Sabbath rest for this earth. 


THE 6000 YEARS
“The great plan of redemption results in fully bringing back the world into God's favor. All that was lost by sin is restored. Not only man but the earth is redeemed, to be the eternal abode of the obedient. For six thousand years Satan has struggled to maintain possession of the earth. Now God's original purpose in its creation is                                                             
accomplished. "The saints of the Most High shall take the kingdom, and possess the kingdom for ever, even for ever and ever."  AH 539-400 

“Satan's work of ruin is forever ended. For six thousand years he has wrought his will, filling the earth with woe, and causing grief throughout the universe. The whole creation has groaned and travailed together in pain. Now God's creatures are forever delivered from his presence and temptations. “ FLB 72.8

  “The great plan of redemption results in fully bringing back the world into God's favor. All that was lost by sin is restored. Not only man but the earth is redeemed, to be the eternal abode of the obedient. For six thousand years, Satan has struggled to maintain possession of the earth. Now God's original purpose in its creation is accomplished. "The saints of the most High shall take the kingdom, and possess the kingdom for ever, even for ever and ever" (Daniel 7:18).  AG 370.2

   “For six thousand years, Satan's work of rebellion has “made the earth to tremble.” He has “made the world as a wilderness, and destroyed the cities thereof.” And “he opened not the house of his prisoners.” For six thousand years his prison-house has received God's people, and he would have held them captive forever, but Christ has broken his bonds, and set the prisoners free.”  GC88 659.3

“Satan's work of ruin is forever ended. For six thousand years he has wrought his will, filling the earth with woe, and causing grief throughout the universe. The whole creation has groaned and travailed together in pain. Now God's creatures are forever delivered from his presence and temptations. “The whole earth is at rest, and is quiet; they [the righteous] break forth into singing.” [Isaiah 14:7.] And a shout of praise and triumph ascends from the whole loyal universe. “The voice of a great multitude,” “as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings,” is heard, saying, “Alleluia; for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth.”  GC88 673.2

We now conclude part two of this five part study on “THE GLORIOUS SABBATH IN THE MYSTERIOUS SANCTUARY” with the following inspired statement.

“I saw that we sensed and realized but little of the importance of the Sabbath, to what we yet should realize and know of its importance and glory. I saw we knew not what it was yet to ride upon the high places of the earth and to be fed with the heritage of Jacob. But when the refreshing and latter rain shall come from the presence of the Lord and the glory of His power, we shall know what it is to be fed with the heritage of Jacob and ride upon the high places of the earth. Then shall we see the Sabbath more in its importance and glory.  “But we shall not see it in all its glory and importance until the covenant of peace is made with us at the voice of God, and the pearly gates of the New Jerusalem are thrown open and swing back on their glittering hinges, and the glad and joyful voice of the lovely Jesus is heard richer than any music that ever fell on mortal ear bidding us enter.”--Letter 3, 1851.  3SM 388.2 E.G.
