Corinthians 14:33 - For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.

Jesus said in Matthew 4:4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God

Sunday is not written in the Bible to keep as a sabbath day or a Holy Day....You see that the Sabbath day is a sign between God and His people forever. Israel is His people and whoever chooses to obey Him now are His people. God intended for the weekly Sabbath (this word means rest in Hebrew) to be a refreshing blessing for mankind. God knew that human beings would need periodic rest and change from work. But the purpose for keeping God's Sabbath goes far beyond simply resting on that day.

We need that time each week to have close spiritual contact with God through prayer, bible study and fellowship with other believers. The Sabbath day is a blessing not a curse as ministers of Satan would have you to believe. Yes Satan has his own ministers and they bring you his doctrine. (2Cor.11:13-15) For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. (v.14) And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. (v.15) Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.

(1 Tim.4:1) Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; The first day of the week, as the Sabbath day, is the doctrine of the devil. Satan is always trying to mimic God. So if it is not of God then it is of Satan. So if the seventh day Sabbath (Saturday) is a sign between God and His people. Then the first day (Sunday) is a sign between somebody and his people.

You can’t have it both ways you are either in or out. (1Cor.10:20-22) (v.20) “and I would not that ye should have fellowship with devils”. (v.21) Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord's table, and of the table of devils. (v.22) Do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? are we stronger than he? Just about everybody in my family goes to church on Sunday.

Even I used too, until I read the scriptures and researched the history of Sunday worship. Until I read the bible for myself I was in the dark. Now here’s your chance to come into the light. (1Peter:2:9) “that ye should show forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light:” Open your eyes sisters and brothers and see. Let no man deceive you. (Rev12:9) And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. Satan through man (Religious Teaching) has deceived the whole world.

ORIGIN OF SUNDAY WORSHIP

Ample evidence from history shows that the celebration of Sunday originated from pagan practices of SUN WORSHIP. In March of 321 A.D., the Roman Emperor Constantine, who was at first a sun-worshiper and later a Christian convert, issued the first decree declaring Sunday to be a legal day of rest. In 336 A.D., the Roman Catholic Church officially changed the observance of Sabbath to Sunday for political and economic expediency. Since then, the original Sabbath gradually gave way to Sunday observance and the practice remains to this day. The Biblical Sabbath, however, is and has always been on the seventh day of the week, or Saturday. Despite the prevalence of Sunday worship in Christendom, we must look to the Bible as our authority and keep the seventh day Sabbath ordained by God.

God may not be the author of confusion... but you are one of the most confused individuals I have seen on this site.

FYI... your arguments would carry more merit if you used a decent translation of scripture.

Seriously... anyone that still uses the flawed KJV needs their head examined.

And none of your arguments prove that the 10 commandments are still perfect.. or even applicable in the New Covenant.  Jesus didn't even seem to think it worth his time to restate them.

Prove to me what you are saying by giving scrpitures and verses according to the Bible. Like Paul said in 1Thessalonians 5:21 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.

Quote
1.) The 10 commandments do not apply today.. they were temporary and only applied as a condition of the of the old covenant instituted with Israel only.

Correct - Even if a person lived in Jesus day, if they were not a Jew born as a Jew the 10 Commandments would not have anything to do with them.
In fact they would get thrown out of a temple. More so they couldn't even step within the threshold of a Jewish home!!

Quote
2.) The 10 commandments were not perfect and as the Jews showed during Jesus ministry, they could be spun into many additional rules and tenets and bent to whatever the leaders of the day wanted them to mean.

Correct -There is no commandment to change our hearts. God is after a change of heart that's why the New Covenant is a Covenant of Grace and Love. Its a Heart thing, the Law has not been put aside but now it must be written on our hearts.
There was no way that could ever happen under the Law. The Law could only show us how far away from God we truly are without His constant guidance...hence now we have His presence within us and WE are His Temple!

Quote
3.) Jesus was asked about his 10 commandments during his ministry.. and rather then restate them.. he summarized them and removed all wiggle room and the ability to manipulate them into what man wanted them to say.  Love the Lord your God with all your heart and mind and soul and love your neighbor as yourself.

Exactly!! People need to keep in mind He was speaking to people burdened and heavy laden under the Law, He was telling them the true purpose of the Law is Love and preparing them to receive the Gospel of the Kingdom of God! Peace with God!

Quote
4.) Jesus' clarification and summary of the 10 commandments makes them obsolete because he has given us a much higher standard to live by.

Hallelujah

Good post

Are we to believe that God’s holy commandments are no longer to be kept in this world of modern Christianity? (Rom. 7:7,12) (v.7) What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, THOU SHALT NOT COVET.

Paul asked a question, is the law sin? He said God forbid, he said the only way that he knew what sin was, was by the law.

(v.12) Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good.

Why in the world would a Christian want to do away with something that God said is holy.

(Rom. 4:15) Because the law worketh wrath: for where no law is, there is no transgression.

(1John 3:4) Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law. Now we have just read the biblical definition of sin, the transgression (breaking) of the law (commandments.) It doesn’t matter what you or I think sin is, it’s what God says sin is that counts.

If there is no law there is no sin. Which mean we can do as we please when we please!

People we must realize everybody has laws by which we must operate by, the governments have laws, your job have laws, your card games have laws, even the boy scouts have laws. But now you are going to try and convince yourselves that the creator of the world has no laws by which we must live.

(Rom. 5:13) (For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law. If there is no law, there is no sin! (1Cor. 14:37) If any man thinks himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord.

Paul didn’t come preaching and teaching his own thing, but he abided in the doctrine of Christ. (Rom. 3:20) Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sights for by the law is the knowledge of sin. This is true because the blood of Jesus can only justify us. But does this make the law void? God forbid. You wouldn’t know what sin was if there was no law.

Jesus died to free us from the law...

You still don't get one of the basic core tenets of Christianity... only the Holy Spirit can reveal it to you.

And like i said before... I am not going to argue with you when you use such an inferior and flawed version of scripture to quote from.  The KJV is the devil's translation of the bible.

what law did Jesus free us from?

it can't be the sabbath!

long after Jesus died for our past sins Paul kept and taught the sabbath !

Paul even taught your fathers the gentiles the sabbath!

s 13:14 But when they departed from Perga, they came to Antioch in Pisidia, and went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and sat down.

Acts 13:27 For they that dwell at Jerusalem, and their rulers, because they knew him not, nor yet the voices of the prophets which are read every sabbath day, they have fulfilled them in condemning him.

I believe you are the one confused!!!!

sabbath day's or even the rest of the laws do not apply  to  us  who are Lutheran. ,their for the  jews God brought out of egypt as the commandment's  in exodus say  .God never brought  Lutherans  out of egypt he brought the jews of that day out of egypt .  we Lutherans mostly  come from place like Germany Iceland Norway Sweden Finland or Apache land  or Africa .

start reading the bible in context please.

Jesus is our sabbath rest .  so go chase after jewish commandment meant only for the jews taken out of egypt if you want to. Because they cant save you from your sins as Jesus has done.

The only good the 10 commands have for us is the  3rd use.

were above the laws of God since Jesus finished them perfectly for our sake -------------your religion teachers your not  .
so these Laws you try to live out  will kill you!

Why not instead trust that Jesus who is God  already has completed them perfectly for you to .

then you wont be told by some law abuser  what your sabbath day must be.

even the Lutheran should be keeping the sabbath

Paul said

Rom 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

Rom 2:10 But glory, honour, and peace, to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile:

Does it matter one little bit. do you think God should care over such a small matter. I set everyday as a day of worship, why should we give one day to God and keep the rest to ourselves, should not all our days be given to Him, should He not be foremost in all that we do, He deserves no less than all of us.

in His love

God said

Mt 4:4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God

the sabbath day is a day we should live by!

It didn't.  The Sabbath is still the 7th day of the week.  We just go to church on Sunday, which lets us rest on Saturday, which was the whole point of the day to start with.

Lev 23:3 Six days shall work be done: but the seventh day is the sabbath of rest, an holy convocation; ye shall do no work therein: it is the sabbath of the LORD in all your dwellings.

the 7th day of the week is the day we are to Gather for worship!

Call it what you what you want, but I can tell you why we gather to break bread and talk about the gospel of Jesus Christ on the first day of the week - we are trying to follow the example of the early church.
"On the first day of the week we came together to break bread. Paul spoke to the people and, because he intended to leave the next day, kept on talking until midnight."
Acts 20:7

the early church kept the sabbath day!

lets read about it

Acts 7:38 This is he, that was in the church in the wilderness with the angel which spake to him in the mount Sina, and with our fathers: who received the lively oracles to give unto us:

the church started in the wilderness

If your focus is on what day of the week to worship and you get all frothy at the mouth about it then your focus is on the wrong thing and your energoes spent on nothing.  The Pharisees were good at that and it was counted as nothing to them.
Look to God, focus on who He is and what He has done and what His message is, not on the little things that can be interpreted in many ways and ties people up in "laws".  We were not freed from the law only to be subject to it again.  The law was fulfilled in Christ and it is He that we should worship.

and Jesus custom is!!!

Lk 4:16 And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read.

what day?

These things are called bondage, and beggarly elements.

Galatians 4:9-10
9   But now, after that ye have known God, or rather are known of God, how turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage? 10  Ye observe days, and months, and times, and years.

Colossians 2:14-17
14   Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;
15   And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.
16   Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the Sabbath days:
17   Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.

Hebrews 4:1-11
1  Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.
2  For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.
3  For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.
4  For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works.
5  And in this place again, If they shall enter into my rest.
6  Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief:
7  Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts.
8  For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day.
9  There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.
10  For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.
11  Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.
  In Jesus' name - larry2

where do you read that the sabbath is a bondage or as beggardly element?

it's not in those verses you misunderstand

sabbath saturdays  were only  the shadow of the better thing to come.others can run off to saturday for rest if they want to.But as for Lutherans we flee to Jesus

Matthew 11:28
"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.
Colossians 2:16-17
16Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day. 17These are a shadow of the things that were to come; the reality, however, is found in Christ.

what has this to do with the topic?

who's judging!
