Trump vs. Sanctuary Cities: Catholic Leaders Push Back

With California as the flash point, the U.S. bishops and immigration advocates speak out against the president’s plan to reduce these communities’ federal funding.

Called to welcome the stranger: Support undocumented people

Activists at Notre Dame and in Philadelphia want to provide sanctuary from Trump deportations. On Monday night, Holy Cross Fr. John I. Jenkins, the president of the University of Notre Dame, spoke directly to the undocumented students on campus during a post-election interfaith prayer service for respect and solidarity. (Notre Dame started admitting undocumented immigrants in 2013.)

"I assure you of our special concern for you at this time," he said Nov. 14. "The university will spare no effort to support you, just as we will for every student at Notre Dame. You accepted our invitation to come to Notre Dame, you are now part of our family, and we will do everything we can to ensure you complete your education at Notre Dame.”

Bishops declare national call-in day to urge Congress to save DACA

WASHINGTON — After the Senate failed Feb. 15 to garner the 60 votes needed to move a bill forward to protect the "Dreamers," officials of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops announced a "National Catholic Call-In Day to Protect Dreamers" Feb. 26.

"We are deeply disappointed that the Senate was not able to come together in a bipartisan manner to secure legislative protection for the Dreamers," the USCCB officials said in a joint statement Feb. 19.

"With the March 5th deadline looming, we ask once again that members of Congress show the leadership necessary to find a just and humane solution for these young people, who daily face mounting anxiety and uncertainty," they said.

The joint statement was issued by Cardinal Daniel N. DiNardo of Galveston-Houston, USCCB president; Archbishop Jose H. Gomez of Los Angeles, USCCB vice president; and Bishop Joe S. Vasquez of Austin, Texas, chairman of the USCCB Committee on Migration.

"We are also announcing a National Catholic Call-In Day to Protect Dreamers," the three prelates said. They asked U.S. Catholics "to call their members of Congress next Monday, Feb. 26, to protect Dreamers from deportation, to provide them a path to citizenship, and to avoid any damage to existing protections for families and unaccompanied minors in the process.”

The Catholic Church & Sanctuary Cities

Thanks to Donald Trump, the major media are being forced to cover the illegal immigration movement, such as the proliferation of “sanctuary cities” across the U.S. that attract criminal aliens, give them legal protection, and let them back out on the streets to commit more crimes. But the really taboo topic is how these sanctuary cities grew out of a movement started by the Catholic Church and other churches.

Over 200 cities, counties and states provide safe-haven to illegal aliens as sanctuary cities, the Center for Immigration Studies (CIS) reports. What has not yet been reported is that the Catholic Church, which gave President Obama his start in “community organizing” in Chicago, has been promoting the sanctuary movement for more than two decades.

What’s more, in April, a delegation of U.S. Catholic bishops staged a church service along the U.S.-Mexico border and distributed Communion through the border fence. At the same time, Pope Francis said a “racist and xenophobic” attitude was keeping immigrants out of the United States.

No wonder the pope’s approval ratings have been falling in the United States.  Overall, Gallup reports that it’s now at 59 percent, down from 76 percent in early 2014. Among conservatives, it’s fallen from 72 percent approval to 45 percent (a drop of 27 points).

“Few people are aware that this extreme left branch of the Catholic Church played a large part in birthing the sanctuary movement,” says James Simpson, author of the new book, The Red-Green Axis: Refugees, Immigration and the Agenda to Erase America.

Simpson says Catholic Charities, the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, and its grant-making arm, the Catholic Campaign for Human Development, are prominent elements of the open borders movement…………………………………….

Groups like the Marxist-oriented Institute for Policy Studies (IPS) were promoting the sanctuary movement for the purpose of facilitating the entry into the U.S. of illegal aliens who were supposedly being repressed by pro-American governments and movements in the region. The U.S. Catholic Bishops openly supported the sanctuary movement, even issuing a statement in 1985 denouncing the criminal indictments of those caught smuggling illegal aliens and violating the law.  Section 274 of the Immigration and Nationality Act prohibits the transportation or harboring of illegal aliens.

Two Roman Catholic priests and three nuns were among those under indictment in one case on 71 counts of conspiracy to smuggle illegal aliens into the United States. One of the Catholic priests indicted in the scheme was Father Ramon Dagoberto Quinones, a Mexican citizen. He was among those convicted of conspiracy in the case.

Through the Catholic Campaign for Human Development, an arm of the Bishops, the church has funded Casa de Maryland, an illegal alien support group which was behind the May 1, 2010, “May Day” rally in Washington, D.C. in favor of “immigrant rights.” Photographs taken by this writer showed Mexican immigrants wearing Che Guevara T-shirts, and Spanish-language communist books and literature being provided to rally participants.

An academic paper, “The Acme of the Catholic Left: Catholic Activists in the US Sanctuary Movement, 1982-1992,” states that lay Catholics and Catholic religious figures were “active participants” in the network protecting illegals. The paper said, “Near the peak of national participation in August 1988, of an estimated 464 sanctuaries around the country, 78 were Catholic communities—the largest number provided by any single denomination.”

Catholic Bishops’ Support For Open Borders Hides Self-Serving Politics

The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops recently rewrote a quadrennial advisory for Catholic voters. The timing appears geared toward influencing the 2018 midterms.
JULY 3, 2018 By Maureen Mullarkey

In practice, the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) is an open borders lobby, a fifth column in cope and chasuble. Its most recent instruction to the laity insinuates that open borders are a core tenet of a Christian worldview.

The group recently voted to rewrite their quadrennial advisory for Catholic voters: “Forming Consciences for Faithful Citizenship.” The document traditionally appears the November prior to a presidential election year. Ostensibly, June’s comprehensive revision was done in anticipation of the 2020 election. But the timing — a year and a half ahead of schedule — suggests a move to influence the 2018 midterms…………………..

According to USCCB, a correct Catholic conscience assigns no guilt to unproductive and failed states. It spares poor nations any agency in their own condition. When Andrés López Obrador, front-runner in Mexico’s upcoming presidential election, called for mass-migration to the United States as “a human right,” he raised no eyebrows among the USCCB.

Undermining immigration policy is a USCCB mission. It does so through such affiliates as Migration and Refugee Services and the Campaign for Human Development. It has sponsored National Migration Week, an annual media event, since the 1970s. It founded a subsidiary, the Catholic Legal Immigration Network, to promote amnesty. And in 2016, the bishops aggressively opposed efforts to obligate non-compliant locales — sanctuary cities — to enforce existing immigration law.

Addressing last year’s 3rd World Meeting of Popular Movements — a mass political liturgy initiated by Francis — San Diego’s Bishop Robert McElroy of San Diego, called on religious leaders and activists to obstruct ICE attempts to locate and/or deport illegals. “We must all become disrupters,” he said………………………………

By fanning a political stance favorable to open borders, the USCCB protects the annual flow of hundreds of millions of federal monies to itself and such affiliates as Catholic Relief Services and Catholic Charities. (More than $500 million in 2016.) In addition to using tax dollars to support programs many tax payers oppose, immigration is an income-producing issue at the diocesan level. As bishops struggle to maintain infrastructure, they have incentive to breathe divine purpose into practical politics: “Our purpose is to help Catholics form their consciences in accordance with God’s truth.”…………………………..

Illegal immigration poses no problem for the bishops. Viewed from the piazza of global solidarity, there are no aliens, only “newcomers.” [Bold font peppers the text.] The “dignity of the human person,” a phrase repeated multiple times in the text, washes away divisive judgments. High-sounding, the phrase is an all-purpose abstraction that can serve any ends. (Alfie Evans, remember, was made to suffocate and dehydrate to death in the name of human dignity.) For voters, the abstraction is meant to trump immigration law…………………………

By admonishing voters to “humanize globalization,” the bishops position themselves in the vanguard of a globalist world freed from competing national aims and interests. To a clerical elite impatient for the withering away of the national state, an open border is the staging ground for assault on citizenship and national sovereignty.
………………………………..

Voting instruction bends the gospel mandate to “welcome the stranger” into a rallying cry that omits biblical distinctions between strangers. The journeying foreigner and the alien are not the same. Predictably, our bishops ignore Ruth’s resonant pledge to Naomi — “Thy God will be my God; thy people, my people.” Her words offend against diversity. Open borders enthusiasts are selective in their quotes. Among the ones they neglect: “Cursed is the man who moves his neighbor’s boundary stone.” (Deut. 27:17)………………………….

https://www.americamagazine.org/politics-society/2017/01/26/catholic-groups-are-opposing-trumps-action-border-wall-and-sanctuary

Catholic organizations expressed distress and unease with President Donald J. Trump's actions related to immigration while pledging to continue serving and supporting migrant people.

The reactions came within hours of Trump's signing of executive memorandums on national security on Jan. 25 during a visit to the Department of Homeland Security. The memorandums authorized the construction of a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border and directed John F. Kelly, secretary of homeland security, to look at how federal funding streams can be cut for cities and states that illegally harbor those in the country without legal permission.

Agencies cited the words of Pope Francis in criticizing the president's actions and pledged to support and serve migrants in the United States.

"Pope Francis has urged people not to close the door on migrants and refugees," Dominican Sister Donna Markham, president and CEO of Catholic Charities USA, said in a statement. "In concert with the Holy Father, we believe we must move from attitudes of defensiveness and fear to acceptance, compassion and encounter.

"As the U.S. Catholic bishops have said, this is not an either/or situation for us," Sister Donna added. "We can protect our citizens and, at the same time, we can welcome newcomers. Our commitment to care for those who are most vulnerable resides at the core of our faith.”

Catholic Charities USA also will continue to work for comprehensive immigration reform, Sister Donna said.

"Retaliating against local communities because they refuse to follow immoral policies is part of an emerging pattern of President Trump of not only bullying people who dare to disagree with him, but isolating and further marginalizing people who are different than him," said Eddie Carmona, campaign director for PICO National Network's LA RED campaign. "Such behavior is inconsistent with the long-held notion that America was a place of opportunity for all.”

Sister Simone Campbell, a Sister of Social Service and executive director of Network, a Catholic social justice lobbying organization, called the presidential orders "antithetical to our faith.”……………………..

"No one flees their countries of origin on a whim," a statement from the Catholic peace organization said. "We honor the multiplicity of reasons people migrate to the United States, many of which are poverty, gang violence and terror. People are not the enemy, but that is the myth we are being told by President Trump. Building a wall is the visual symbol of these political lies.”

The Franciscan Action Network expressed concern that the country would be turning its back on refugees after Trump's actions……………………….

"Pope Francis proclaimed that 'refugees are not pawns on the chessboard of humanity. They are children, women, and men who leave or who are forced to leave their homes ... the flesh of Christ is in the flesh of the refugees.' The faithful response is not to build a wall or to discriminate against Muslims, but to open our hearts and our homes to refugees of all faiths in recognition of our sacred call to protect and nourish life. If we refuse to welcome refugees in urgent need, we risk becoming like those we claim to deplore," Lee said.

Several churches, faith-based advocacy groups and interfaith programs joined the Catholic groups in criticizing the administration's plans. Among them were Alliance of Baptists, American Jewish World Service, Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, Interfaith Alliance, Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service, Muslim Public Affairs Council, National Association of Evangelicals, National Council of Churches, National Council of Jewish Women, Presbyterian Church (USA), Unitarian Universalist Association, United Church of Christ and United Methodist Church, General Board of Church and Society.

Amo, what does this thread have to do with Seventh-day Adventism?

It has to do with the continued and unending political intrigues and abuses of BABYLON THE GREAT. If you don't know what that has to do with SDA's, this is not surprising. You deny the words of those you bring accusations against when they are placed right in front of your face, no surprise that you would deny the SDA emphasis upon the Three Angels  messages. No need of course to leave the SDA church on this account, most of our churches no longer place emphasis upon these messages either.

Catholic bishops rebuke Trump’s asylum changes, suggest ‘canonical penalties’

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (RNS) — The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops opened its spring meeting this week with a stern reproach of the Trump administration’s latest immigration policies, with the group’s president suggesting the new rules on asylum are a “right to life” issue.

Some bishops followed by urging protests, including “canonical penalties” for those who carry out the administration’s new rules. Within minutes of opening the USCCB’s biannual meeting in Fort Lauderdale on Wednesday (June 13), Cardinal Daniel DiNardo, president of the USCCB and archbishop of Galveston-Houston, read aloud a statement deeply critical of Attorney General Jeff Sessions’ recent announcement regarding asylum qualifications. “At its core, asylum is an instrument to preserve the right to life,” DiNardo said, reading from the statement. “The Attorney General’s recent decision elicits deep concern because it potentially strips asylum from many women who lack adequate protection.

“This decision negates decades of precedents that have provided protection to women fleeing domestic violence,” DiNardo continued. “We urge courts and policy makers to respect and enhance, not erode, the potential of our asylum system to preserve and protect the right to life.” On Monday, Sessions reversed an immigration appeals court decision granting asylum to a Salvadoran woman who had claimed domestic abuse in her home country. His ruling effectively overturned an Obama administration practice of allowing women with credible claims of domestic abuse or those fleeing gang violence to seek asylum in the United States. DiNardo also criticized the Trump administration’s “zero-tolerance” policy, announced in May, which calls for prosecuting all those who cross the border illegally and separating children immigrating with parents from their families.

“Our government has the discretion in our laws to ensure that young children are not separated from their parents and exposed to irreparable harm and trauma. Families are the foundational element of our society and they must be able to stay together,” DiNardo said.

“Separating babies from their mothers is not the answer and is immoral,” he added.

When he finished, DiNardo asked bishops to clap if they approved the statement. The room erupted in applause.

During a question-and-answer session about immigration issues later in the day, several bishops suggested bold strategies for countering the policies, including two from states along the U.S.-Mexico border.

Cardinal Joseph Tobin of Newark, N.J., proposed that a group of bishops be sent to the border to inspect the detention facilities where children are kept as a “sign of our pastoral concern and protest against the hardening of the American heart.” Bishop Oscar Cantú of Las Cruces, N.M., suggested “public gestures” such as prayer vigils in front of federal courthouses.

Bishop Edward Weisenburger of Tucson, Ariz., made a bolder suggestion, raising the possibility of implementing canonical penalties for Catholics “who are involved in this,” referring to children being separated from their families at the border. Canonical penalties can range from denial of sacraments to excommunication, though Weisenburger did not specify what he intended beyond referring to sanctions that already exist for “life issues.”

“Canonical penalties are there in place to heal,” Weisenburger said. “And therefore, for the salvation of these people’s souls, maybe it’s time for us to look at canonical penalties.”
The immigration policies have triggered widespread outcry from faith leaders across the religious spectrum, including Catholics. Sister Norma Pimentel, executive director of Catholic Charities of the Rio Grande Valley who has been praised by Pope Francis for her work with migrants, told USA Today that separating families is “inhumane” and “cruel.”

The bishops are meeting in Fort Lauderdale through Thursday.

This is Roman Catholicism, which once established within a nation, seeks to subvert the will of governments and peoples to its own. Never mind the cost or consequences of the same. She will attack all within her range of influence that will not submit to her usurped authority and leadership against the governments of those nations she presides within. Even while receiving countless billions of dollars from the same with or without the approval of the people. She is evil personified and institutionalized.

She destroys nations from within, while enriching herself continuously at the expense of the governments and peoples she is destroying.  Nothing but the establishment of her own will and policies matter, behind her are the historic trails of ruin and misery she has caused and ever works to cover up. She is BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH. She will lead the entire world into ruin and destruction by the judgement of God at the return of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He has called His own out of this world. She has usurped our Lord’s authority and calls her own  not only to join but to lead this world to its end, in Christ’s name.

Quote
In America, particularly, is this investigation important. In all the countries over which it has triumphed, Popery, like the anaconda, has wound around its folds of art, of cunning, of superstition and of power, until, enclosing everything in its too friendly embraces, it has, with one tremendous effort, crushed the nation to death. It sends forth its
missionaries; it gathers its schools and colleges; it erects its cathedrals and builds its churches; it is patriotic, benevolent, charitable. Its alms and offerings attract the vulgar, its austerities and penances convince the
sceptical. It is at first tolerated; then approved; next obeyed! But now come the dread realities of the system, taxation, passive submission, excommunications, interdicts, crusades, the inquisition, destruction. Yes,
Popery has well nigh destroyed every country in which it has been predominant. The liberties and national prosperity of a people cannot coexist with such a system. (CHRIST AND ANTICHRIST, by Samuel J. Cassels, PART 2 ANTICHRIST OR THE PAPACY PROVED TO BE THE ANTICHRIST PREDICTED IN THE HOLY SCRIPTURES, INTRODUCTORY REMARKS, Pgs. 125&126)

Thus does the anomalous character of the Papacy prove it to be the antitype of “the little horn.” This power is unlike all others; is uncongenial with all others. It is a usurper, a supplanter. We can readily conceive, how a spiritual power, either associated with the state, or entirely independent of the state, may exist without discord or collision. If the church be entirely distinct from the political institutions of a people, there can of course be no disturbance, as there is no contact. And if a church be established by law, as the operations of the religious and the political systems are kept in distinct spheres, there may be but occasional evils growing out of such union. But for a government that claims its existence jure divino, that sets up a universal empire, that arrogates to itself supremacy in all civil, as well as ecclesiastical matters — for a government that considers itself infallible, and which requires absolute submission in all its subjects — for such a government to exist in the midst of other governments; in its very principles trampling upon their rights and privileges; wielding both a temporal and a spiritual sword; punishing offenders both in this world and the next — for such a government to exist in harmony with other governments, is impossible, absolutely impossible.
The papal system can harmonize with no other, whether religious or political. To the religious world, it exhibits one supreme pontiff of Christendom, and requires for him universal obedience. To the political world, it presents one great monarch, whose throne is above every throne, and whose will is law throughout the globe. No the Papacy is a unit, and presents the front of positive hostility to every thing that is not consolidated in itself. It may not be able to carry out its principles and wishes, but this is its nature. It is “diverse from all other governments; it is the adversary of all other governments.(Chapter 3, Pgs. 155&156)

U.S. Bishops Say Trump Proclamation on Caravan Migrants Is Illegal

President Trump’s recent proclamation addressing the mostly Central American migrants marching toward the U.S. border contravenes U.S. laws on immigration, declared a statement posted on the U.S. bishops website Wednesday.

“On November 9, 2018, President Trump issued a proclamation barring people arriving to the U.S./Mexico border from receiving U.S. asylum unless they request it at a U.S. port of entry, a direct contradiction of existing U.S. asylum law (see here),” reads the statement on the Bishops’ website, signed by Bishop Joe Vásquez, Chairman of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops Committee on Migration, along with officials from Catholic Charities USA, Catholic Legal Immigration Network, and Catholic Relief Services.

The bishops express their “deep concern” over the proclamation, arguing that the migrant caravan is composed of children and adults “fleeing violence” in their home countries.

“While our teaching acknowledges the right of each nation to regulate its borders, we find this action deeply concerning,” the statement reads. “It will restrict and slow access to protection for hundreds of children and families fleeing violence in Central America, potentially leaving them in unsafe conditions in Mexico or in indefinite detention situations at the U.S./Mexico border.”

The Mexican ambassador to the U.S., Geronimo Gutierrez, has warned that the migrant caravan is not just a peaceful group of people fleeing a bad situation.

“We have been trying to avoid, at all costs, violence in the border,” Gutierrez told Steve Inskeep of NPR. “Unfortunately, some of the people in the caravan have been very violent against authority, even though that they have offered the possibility of entering in compliance with immigration law and refugee status.”

In their statement, the bishops insist that seeking asylum is no crime and migrants have a right to refuge.

“We reiterate that it is not a crime to seek asylum and this right to seek refuge is codified in our laws and in our values,” it reads. “We urge the Administration to seek other solutions that will strengthen the integrity of the existing immigration system, while assuring access to protection for vulnerable children and families.”

“The Catholic Church will continue to serve, accompany and assist all those who flee persecution, regardless of where they seek such protection and where they are from,” the statement concludes.

In his proclamation, President Trump expressed concern that an influx of “large groups of aliens arriving at once through the southern border would add tremendous strain to an already taxed system, especially if they avoid orderly processing by unlawfully crossing the southern border.”

“Failing to take immediate action to stem the mass migration the United States is currently experiencing and anticipating would only encourage additional mass unlawful migration and further overwhelming of the system,” he said.

More of the same. As is almost always the case, the caravan is composed of mostly young men, not women and children.

Border dioceses prepare to aid migrants heading to U.S. in caravans

Denver, Colo., Nov 1, 2018 / 04:00 am (CNA).- Catholic agencies along the U.S.-Mexico border are bolstering refugee aid efforts as thousands of people in multiple migrant caravans continue to trek north through Mexico to the border.

Thousands of migrants, primarily from the Central American countries of El Salvador, Honduras and Guatemala, started multiple caravans to the United States border earlier this month in order to seek asylum. While the caravans are still weeks out, Catholic charities along the border are preparing for an increased influx of refugees.

Teresa Cavendish, director of operations for Catholic Community Services in Tucson, Arizona told CNA that while they are monitoring the caravans, the agency is accustomed to receiving and helping large numbers of migrants with food and clothing, and then connecting them to their family in the U.S.

“In Arizona and all along the southern border last week there have been large numbers of releases anyway,” Cavendish told CNA......................................... .....

Safe journey: Vatican pushes for global compacts on migration, refugees

ROME - While encouraging Catholics to reach out to migrants and refugees, the Vatican is reaching out to governments as they struggle to work out international policies and principles for dealing with the large number of people fleeing violence and poverty.

The involvement of the church and church agencies in the U.N. process for drafting the Global Compact on Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration and the Global Compact on Refugees goes hand in hand with the much more personalized effort to encourage individual Catholics to meet a migrant or refugee and listen to that person’s story.

Pope Francis launched Caritas Internationalis’s “Share the Journey” campaign Sept. 27, inviting all Catholics to extend a hand of welcome to a migrant or refugee.

The pope himself oversees the Migrants and Refugees Section of the Vatican Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development, and he has approved specific “action points” or concrete proposals the Vatican wants to see incorporated into the global compacts.

The 20 points, drafted in consultation with several bishops’ conferences and Catholic organizations working with refugees and migrants, are explained in separate notes. One, addressed to bishops and other pastoral leaders, aims to educate Catholics and build public support for policies to guarantee an appropriate welcome, protection, promotion and integration of migrants and refugees. The other is addressed more specifically to politicians and those involved in drafting the compacts.................................... ............

Pope's representative for refugees visits El Paso, urges help for immigrants

The Rev. Robert Stark, Pope Francis' representative from the Vatican's Migrant and Refugees Section, on Saturday called for El Paso-area parishioners to help immigrants and to defend the Catholic Church’s right to migrate.

Stark encouraged parishioners to defend and advocate for the Catholic Church’s “fundamental” rights to migrate, to not migrate if people choose to stay in their homelands and to seek refuge.

“We are called to defend these basic rights,” he said. “It’s immoral to criminalize people seeking refuge and asylum and separate their families.”

Stark called on the parishioners to recognize, respect and promote these rights.

Stark was in El Paso on Friday and Saturday to participate in the Weekend of Solidarity with Migrants by the Diocesan Commission on Migration and the Hope Border Network to support immigrants, especially those impacted by the federal government's "zero tolerance" policy.

Pope Francis: prioritise migrants' dignity over national security

Pope Francis has issued a 20-point action plan to governments on refugees and migrants to try to galvanise their response to an issue seen by the Vatican as one of the biggest global challenges of the 21st century.

His intention is to lay the ground for the drafting of two global compacts on refugees and migration, which are expected to be adopted at the UN general assembly in September 2018.

The roadmap was published on Monday by the Vatican’s migrants and refugees section, which was set up by Francis last year and operates under his direction. The action points were personally approved by the pontiff......................

All emphasis in the following quotes is mine.

Quote
Yes, Immigration Hurts American Workers

............................................ ....................................

Hillary Clinton, for her part, seemed to be telling only the other half. At her convention a week later, Clinton claimed that immigrants, both legal and illegal, improve the economy for everyone. She told the crowd: “I believe that when we have millions of hardworking immigrants contributing to our economy, it would be self-defeating and inhumane to try to kick them out. Comprehensive immigration reform will grow our economy.”

Here’s the problem with the current immigration debate: Neither side is revealing the whole picture. Trump might cite my work, but he overlooks my findings that the influx of immigrants can potentially be a net good for the nation, increasing the total wealth of the population. Clinton ignores the hard truth that not everyone benefits when immigrants arrive. For many Americans, the influx of immigrants hurts their prospects significantly.

This second message might be hard for many Americans to process, but anyone who tells you that immigration doesn’t have any negative effects doesn’t understand how it really works. When the supply of workers goes up, the price that firms have to pay to hire workers goes down. Wage trends over the past half-century suggest that a 10 percent increase in the number of workers with a particular set of skills probably lowers the wage of that group by at least 3 percent. Even after the economy has fully adjusted, those skill groups that received the most immigrants will still offer lower pay relative to those that received fewer immigrants.

............................................ ..........................................

We don’t need to rely on complex statistical calculations to see the harm being done to some workers. Simply look at how employers have reacted. A decade ago, Crider Inc., a chicken processing plant in Georgia, was raided by immigration agents, and 75 percent of its workforce vanished over a single weekend. Shortly after, Crider placed an ad in the local newspaper announcing job openings at higher wages. Similarly, the flood of recent news reports on abuse of the H-1B visa program shows that firms will quickly dismiss their current tech workforce when they find cheaper immigrant workers.

But that’s only one side of the story. Somebody’s lower wage is always somebody else’s higher profit. In this case, immigration redistributes wealth from those who compete with immigrants to those who use immigrants—from the employee to the employer. And the additional profits are so large that the economic pie accruing to all natives actually grows. I estimate the current “immigration surplus”—the net increase in the total wealth of the native population—to be about$50 billion annually. But behind that calculation is a much larger shift from one group of Americans to another: The total wealth redistribution from the native losers to the native winners is enormous, roughly a half-trillion dollars a year. Immigrants, too, gain substantially; their total earnings far exceed what their income would have been had they not migrated.

When we look at the overall value of immigration, there’s one more complicating factor: Immigrants receive government assistance at higher rates than natives. The higher cost of all the services provided to immigrants and the lower taxes they pay (because they have lower earnings) inevitably implies that on a year-to-year basis immigration creates a fiscal hole of at least $50 billion—a burden that falls on the native population.

What does it all add up to? The fiscal burden offsets the gain from the $50 billion immigration surplus, so it’s not too farfetched to conclude that immigration has barely affected the total wealth of natives at all. Instead, it has changed how the pie is split, with the losers—the workers who compete with immigrants, many of those being low-skilled Americans—sending a roughly $500 billion check annually to the winners. Those winners are primarily their employers. And the immigrants themselves come out ahead, too. Put bluntly, immigration turns out to be just another income redistribution program.......................................................

Just another income redistribution program brought to you buy your favorite purple and scarlet clad woman decked with gold, precious stones, and pearls, sitting upon many waters, and holding the golden cup in her hand. Go to America, drink from her cup unto oblivious annihilation.

Pope Francis Calls On Catholics To Show Their Support Of Migrants And Join “Global Solidarity Walk”

(Big League Politics) – On Sunday, Pope Francis plugged the One-million-kilometer “Global Solidarity Walk” for migrants and refugees, urging all Catholics to participate in the pro-immigration event.

The event, organized by international Catholic relief service Caritas Internationalis, involves walking “side by side with migrants and refugees” but has a clear political purpose as well. By walking together, we “send a strong message of unity to political leaders,” organizers declare.

Sunday the pope compared the pro-immigration walk to the journey two disciples took on the road to Emmaus after Christ’s resurrection, where they were joined by Jesus as they traveled.

“Join Caritas and walk 1 million kilometres together with migrants & refugees. We are all on the Road to Emmaus being called to see the face of Christ. #sharejourney”

Back in September 2017, the pope stated that Jesus Christ himself is who asks us to welcome migrants “with arms wide open,” and that a failure to do so stems from xenophobia.

Pope Francis went on to say that opposition to immigration “finds its explanation in an innate fear of the ‘foreigner,’ a fear exacerbated by the wounds caused by the economic crisis, the unpreparedness of the local communities, and the inadequacy of many measures taken in an emergency atmosphere.”

Francis also launched a two-year pro-immigration campaign to encourage a more welcoming attitude toward migrants all over the globe.

The campaign is run by Caritas Internationalis and was initially launched in response to Pope Francis’ habitual summons for a “culture of encounter” with immigrants.

The world “faces not a migration crisis, but a crisis of global solidarity,” Caritas Internationalis says on its website. “Be part of a worldwide campaign to reach out to migrants, change perceptions, open hearts and minds, and strengthen the bonds that unite us all.”

The organization states that the project hopes to provoke a “shift in thinking” as far as immigration is concerned, by dispelling common “myths about migration.”

The organization says on their website that popular myths about migration include migrants living off welfare benefits and stealing jobs from citizens, that closing borders will curb migrant flows, that there are more migrants now than ever before, and that “people from poor countries migrate to rich ones.”

Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle of Manila, president of Caritas Internationalis, recently said during a Vatican press conference that world leaders should remember that “we are all migrants. Nobody can claim to be a non-migrant, we are all passing in this world.”

“Nobody is a permanent resident,” and no one can claim to “own the space they occupy,” he said, voicing his hope that there would be a universal “conversion of mind” on the issue.

So, who do your politicians listen to and obey, their citizens, or the Pope? The answer is of course obvious.

Illegal-Immigrant Caravans, Churches, and Criminal Sanctuaries

............................................ ...............................

Pueblo Sin Fronteras, the group in charge of the annual “migrant caravan,” launched its effort during Holy Week by invoking the Stations of the Cross with biblical costumery and prop crosses. When they’re not serving as human traffickers masquerading as human-rights activists, these travel agents for amnesty busy themselves constructing shelters along their illicit pathways that span the globe. Catholic groups have sponsored and subsidized such nation-sabotaging campaigns for decades.

The Vatican itself donated at least $20,000 in 2009 to erect a shelter for Central American illegal aliens sneaking through Ixtepec, Mexico, where they hopped on freight trains into our country. Another papal society, Catholic Extension, has poured more than $12 million dollars into ministries along our southern border over the past five years “to ensure that those who are on a journey are protected by the Church and that we advocate on their behalf,” according to the Catholic News Agency.

............................................ ............................................ .

In Washington State, the Jesuit-affiliated St. Joseph Catholic Church of Seattle blasted President Trump’s “destructive and brutal” immigration enforcement and declared “our unwavering solidarity with our brothers and sisters in the immigrant community.” All deportations violate “Catholic Social Teaching” and “the common good,” the parish asserted.

............................................ ....................

In Las Vegas, the incoming Catholic Bishop George Leo Thomas announced that illegal immigration and gun control will top his spiritual agenda. Echoing the left-wing U.S. Conference on Catholic Bishops, Thomas pledged to support and advocate for the so-called illegal-alien Dreamers and welcome them into the church.

In San Diego, Catholic and Episcopal leaders united to protest construction of the border wall while waving Mexican flags. “Jesus said we should love our neighbor,” one argued.

............................................ ............................

We reserve the right to regulate entry into our country for the same reasons the Vatican itself has high barriers, armed guards, and metal detectors. Yet, Pope Francis has lambasted President Trump and our walls as “not Christian.”

If you don’t like our laws, change them. If you can’t respect our sovereignty, go organize a caravan of alien trespassers and seek permanent shelter at the Sistine Chapel. Good luck with that.

Organizer of new caravan arrested for rape

An organizer of the latest migrant caravan was arrested on rape charges in Honduras.

Juan Carlos Molina, the subject of an arrest warrant since August 2015, was on his way to the United States to seek asylum after raping his minor cousin, Diario La Tribuna reported, according to the Gateway Pundit.

The paper said Molina, 26, is accused of sneaking into the bedroom of his cousin, 12, at night while the girl’s mother was away at work.

The minor child became pregnant and gave birth to a son, the paper said. A DNA test of the infant revealed the child was Molina’s.

Molina skipped court dates and ultimately became a fugitive. He would have made it to the U.S. if he had not been arrested, the Gateway Pundit noted.

The new caravan of an estimated 800 migrants left San Pedro Sula, Honduras, on Monday.

Breitbart News reported Miguel Perez, the sub-director of the Honduran Border Police, said that at the time of his arrest, Molina had fake IDs.

The new caravan, Breitbart noted, comes as the Mexican border city of Tijuana continues to deal with thousands of members of the first caravan who are still waiting to enter the U.S. to request asylum.

Tijuana officials say they lack support from the Mexican federal government to provide food shelters and other basic needs for members of the first caravan.

San Antonio archdiocese prepares for new parishes

San Antonio, Texas, Jan 11, 2019 / 03:01 pm (CNA).- The Archdiocese of San Antonio has collected over half of the funds for a campaign to construct new parish buildings in preparation for an expected population boom.

The "On the Way - ¡Ándale!" Capital Campaign, this is the first campaign the diocese has seen since 1955. It has raised over $40 million of the $60 million goal.

Construction on Mary, Mother of the Church parish could start as early as fall 2019. The church grounds will include a sanctuary, school, meeting hall, rectory, and sport complex.

Archbishop Gustavo García-Siller blessed the grounds of the new parish Dec. 8. The parish grounds are located in west San Antonio.

The campaign is expected to establish eight parish communities throughout the archdiocese. The plan is for the parishes to be completed within 10 years.

The construction of new churches is rare, but the archdiocese is predicting a large increase in church-goers as San Antonio plans to see an increase in nearly 1 million people by 2040.

Don Meyer, general chair of the campaign, told KENS 5 that new facilities are required to compensate for the upcoming growth and the already over-populated parishes in the area, including his own parish, Holy Trinity.

"There's a projected 200,000 new Catholics coming in the next ten years. To faithfully serve those parishioners, we will require new parishes, new and expanded schools to educate the youth to give them a faith-based education and renovation and expansion of existing parishes," he said.

Donna Degenhardt, an attendant at the blessing ceremony, also told KENS 5 that a need for new parish facilities was desperately needed.

"We need this church in the worst way. It is so wonderful. We're so excited and we can't wait until it gets built!" she said.

According to the Archdiocese of San Antonio, Father Larry Christian, pastor of St. Ann Catholic Church, spoke to the attendees of ground blessing ceremony, highlighting the importance of the project.

“The On the Way - ¡Ándale! capital campaign – in many ways – is about building up the legacy of our founders and the many people who have helped establish the Catholic parishes, missions, schools, hospitals, colleges, service programs and spirit that is reflective of our archdiocese,” he said.

The arrogance of the Catholic church knows no end. Where do you suppose they think these 200,000 new members are coming from? They facilitate the legal and illegal immigration of them from predominantly Roman Catholic countries to our south, which are to corrupt, and mismanaged to provide for their own. Even though our present President and the American people do not want this unsustainable number of non stop immigrants, not only does Rome not care about the will of the people of this or any nations, but she actually spends millions building her churches to accommodate all those she intends to bring in against the will of the people. As always this parasite of an institution continuously sucks the life blood out of nations and peoples. The manipulative implementation of her policies and practices either against the will of the people or unbeknown to the same are the ruin of all interests but her own. Her exact intentions and ideal model is the two class society of elitist lords and clergy, and totally dependent laity and peasants.

Rev 17:1 And there came one of the seven angels which had the seven vials, and talked with me, saying unto me, Come hither; I will shew unto thee the judgment of the great whore that sitteth upon many waters: 2 With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication.

Quote
New migrant caravan has left Honduras; why do they flee?

...

“There are lots of people in Honduras in the caravan who left because they had drought the past four out of five years - so climate change is also a factor,” said Rick Jones, migration adviser at Catholic Relief Services in El Salvador. He also cited lack of opportunities in Central America and the possibility of family reunification.

...

The new caravan caused some disquiet for the operators of Catholic-run migrant shelters. Jorge Andrade, director of a collection of shelters, said caravans present problems such as collapsing local infrastructure for migrants and an inability to screen the travelers they’re serving. The price of hiring a human smuggler to take migrants across the U.S. border also has increased, he said.

Javier Urbano, who studies migration as a professor at the Jesuit-run Iberoamerican University, says the shelters traditionally provide humanitarian assistance to migrants - a place to eat, sleep and rest - but are being pulled into politics with the rise of caravans, which are visible and inevitably become political.

“We can no longer respond in the (same) way,” Urbano said. “Humanitarian intervention (is) coming up short. Now it has to be humanitarian intervention, but also political action.”

The Catholic church is of course up to date concerning the reasons for the migrant crisis whether real or invented, since she is right in the middle of facilitating and supporting the same. Never mind the billions she already receives from governments all over the world which can be applied to this situation, she can no longer handle it and now suggests or requires politicians give her a helping hand with or without the consent of the people they are supposed to represent. Roman Catholic countries and therefore governments failing to our south, becoming increasingly dependent upon the ever dwindling wealth of a nation to their north which was built upon Protestant and biblical principles of government by the people and for the people. Which government and nation has been continuously bombarded with several massive migrations of Roman Catholics to it, who bring ever increasing influences of Roman government and support of Rome itself to said nation, slowly changing and bringing us down to the level of their many failing nations.

So what now? A cry for the never ending increasing support of Catholic peoples from predominantly Catholic nations from a once predominantly Protestant and therefore prosperous nation, which is now 22 trillion dollars in debt. Which ever increasing debt has been heavily aided by the ever increasing influence and financial burden which the Church of Rome brings upon all nations she becomes predominant within. Can you say disfunction? We simply will not ever learn from the lessons of history, or apparently what is happening right in front of our faces. The Church of Rome spiritually represents a people completely dependent upon their clergy for salvation, and correspondingly her political intrigues amount to a people completely dependent upon government. Which two worldly powers have historically and ever increasingly presently been in bed together in order to facilitate the same.

It sends forth its missionaries; it gathers its schools and colleges; it erects its cathedrals and builds its churches; it is patriotic, benevolent, charitable. Its alms and offerings attract the vulgar, its austerities and penances convince the sceptical. It is at first tolerated; then approved; next obeyed! But now come the dread realities of the system, taxation, passive submission, excommunications, interdicts, crusades, the inquisition, destruction. Yes, Popery has well nigh destroyed every country in which it has been predominant. The liberties and national prosperity of a people cannot coexist with such a system.

Let then, Americans — Americans, who have never witnessed a Court of Inquisition, or an Auto-da-fe, on their virgin soil; Americans, whose national liberties are still fragrant with the blood of revolutionary forefathers; Americans, whose proud eminence in the civilized world, gives them more to lose than other nations; let Americans especially examine this subject well. And if, in such an examination, the following pages shall contribute but a mite to the discovery of the truth, the author will feel himself more than compensated for the labor they have cost him.

Bishops Admit to 'Shocking Reality' in Honduras as Caravan of 14,000 Immigrants Heads to US Border

Roman Catholic bishops in Honduras have admitted that their country is in a "shocking" and "shameful" state, which has added to the thousands-strong caravan headed to the U.S. border.

"It's a shocking reality caused by the current situation in our country, which forces a multitude to leave what little it has, venturing without any certainty for the migration route to the United States, with the desire to reach the promised land, the 'American dream,' which allows them to solve their economic problems and improve their living conditions. For them and their families and, in many cases, to ensure the long-awaited physical security," the Episcopal Conference of Honduras told Fides News in a statement on Wednesday.

"It's the duty of the Honduran State to provide its citizens with the means to satisfy their basic needs, such as decent, stable and well-paid work, health, education and housing. When these conditions do not exist, people are forced to live in tragedy and many of them hope to undertake a path that leads to development and improvement, finding themselves in the shameful and painful need to leave their families, their friends, their community, their culture, their environment and their land," the bishops added, touching upon the economic crisis that has led thousands to illegally migrate through Mexico and head for the U.S., seeking asylum.

...

There you have it straight from Rome's mouth. The Catholics of failed Catholic nations who believe the state is responsible to feed, clothe, house, and supply them with work if they so choose, leave to go to America where they believe the government will feed, clothe, house, and provide them with work. The only problem of course is, that a country which is supposed to be government for the people and by the people, takes all the means to do so from its people with or without their consent. This is not government for the people by the people. Especially when so very many of them are protesting the same. Eventually of course with an unending increase of this influx of people from these failing nations who believe all should be dependent upon government, reaches the point of them outnumbering those who appose such, our nation will naturally just become another failing nation that believes and attempts to implement such. As has been our present course for decades now putting us 22 trillion dollars in debt. Not to worry, when the existing economic structure of the world collapses according to said situation or ,plan, the new global system already waiting and in place will be implemented to save all. Which plan of course will include the subjugation of all to far greater government control and manipulation of their lives than they have ever witnessed before.

Rev 13:11 And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon. 12 And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed. 13 And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men, 14 And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live. 15 And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed. 16 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: 17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. 18 Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.

The Catholic Church next to migrants in Mexico

The Mexican bishops have spoken in favor of the caravan of Honduran migrants traveling in the south of the country.
Honduran migrants crossing Mexico " do not pose a threat to our well-being, but an opportunity to serve Christians who have left everything behind to live a worthier life ", Declared the archdiocese of Mexico City in his weekly" Desde la fe ", and urged the citizens to protect the caravan along the road to the United States.

The migrating caravan resumed Mexico in the south of Mexico on Monday, while the United States sent thousands of soldiers to the border to block their arrival, described by Donald Trump as an "invasion."

United States: Trump revives the theme of migration threat

The Catholic Church has multiplied its actions to show support for migrants. On Oct. 30, the Episcopal Conference of Mexico invited priests and bishops of the country to celebrate the Eucharist. " as a sign that the church is accompanying people walking through Mexico ".

Escape the violence

Father Michael Czerny, secretary of the Immigration and Refugee Department of the Vatican Monastery for Integral Human Development, visits Mexico City from 2-4 November to participate in the Eighth World Social Forum on migration. " It is an opportunity to express our fellowship with Pope Francis, as well as our solidarity and support for his call to welcome, protect, encourage and integrate our migrant brothers. Said Cardinal Francisco Robles Ortega, Archbishop of Guadalajara.

On October 28, in the central park of San Pedro Tapanatepec, in the state of Oaxaca, where the caravan arrived, it was announced that some of the most committed priests in the defense of migrants would accompany them to help them on their journey. to travel. The Archdiocese of Mexico City has also indicated that it will do its utmost to accommodate the Honduran in the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe upon their arrival, and then divide them into the structures of the different parishes of the capital .

United States: Trump revives the theme of migration threat

They are three thousand Hondurans who forced the border between Guatemala and Mexico in the city of Tapachula in mid-October. Honduras is one of the most violent countries in the world, with an annual number of 43 murders per 100,000 inhabitants. This uncertainty contributes to major economic problems. Seven out of ten Hondurans live in poverty according to the World Bank.

Caravan Onslaught On Border: Bleeding America By A Thousand Cuts

Nov 15, 2018   Read More Articles by Frosty Wooldridge

When do too many become too much? Why must the world’s miseries become America’s responsibilities?  At what point, does the immigrant line end?

In the past month, emotional writers around the United States tell us that we must accept and care for the 14,000-strong immigrant caravan chugging toward our southern border. More open-borders activists plan to fight the military in order to allow the migrants into the United States. The Catholic Church encourages its flock to violate our borders at every level. The Pope, standing behind the tall walls of the Vatican, scolds us for building a wall on the Mexican border. High powered leaders, like Joe Biden, Nancy Pelosi, Charles Schumer, Barack Obama, Diane Feinstein, Michael Bennet and more Congressional Critters, press for no borders for America. They feel we should dissolve our borders and open up our country to unlimited immigration.

Catholic Charities, Lutheran Charities, Muslim Charities and Jewish Charities encourage refugees, equip them and plant them in thousands of cities across America annually: all on your taxes.  Congress aids and abets them.

An average of 300,000 pregnant women from all over the world violate America’s borders to birth their anchor babies annually. Those babies cost you, the American taxpayer, billions over the decades, if not into the trillions of dollars.  Congress does nothing to stop them.

Congress mandates 50,000 diversity visas annually to give a “Golden Ticket” to third world poor people to arrive in America with an apartment, food stamps, automobile and cash for as long as they choose.  All on your taxpayer dollar!  To sober you to this Congressional boondoggle, 14 million third world poor sign up for that Golden Ticket to America every year.

If given a free ticket on a plane to America, 100,000,000 (million) to as high as 500,000,000 (million) citizens of the world would gladly vacate their hellish countries to come to America, Canada and Europe.  The United Nations reports that 68,000,000 (million) refugees languish around the world at this date.  That number will exceed 100 million within 10 years. In India, 60 percent of Indians do not enjoy access to a toilet or shower. No wonder they chain-migrate into America like a human monsoon.   (Source: Indian Express)

As it is, 1,200,000 (million) legal immigrant refugees flow into the United States annually. That’s 100,000 every thirty days.  Once established, they chain-migrate their relatives from 196 different countries.

On the illegal side, the U.S. Border Patrol reports that 1,500 illegal alien refugees jump our borders successfully 24/7.  That adds up to 500,000 illegal aliens that break into America annually. (Source: Dr. Steve Camarota, Illegal Alien Flow into the USA, www.cis.org)

Bleeding heart Amanda Cater wrote a letter to the Bozeman Montana paper pleading on behalf of the Central American caravan of immigrants about to invade America’s borders. She said, “The people seeking refuge are a very small percentage of our 325 million people.  We must let them into our country.”

She didn’t mention that we suffer 11,000 homeless in San Francisco, 10,000 homeless in my City of Denver, 12,500 homeless in Seattle, and 90,000 homeless living in tarp cities in Los Angeles. In August 2018, New York City reported 63,025 homeless people, including 15,421 homeless families with 22,907 homeless children, sleeping each night in the New York City municipal shelter system. Families make up three-quarters of the homeless shelter population. (Source: Basic facts of homeless in USA, Google)

Cater didn’t mention that 44,000,000 (million) Americans, refugees and illegal aliens subsist on food stamps that cost American taxpayer hundreds of billions of dollars annually.

Dr. Paul Nachman, a population expert in Montana, responded to Cater, “We already admit over one million legal immigrants yearly, causing substantial stress in our national life.  (Think: stagnant wages, galloping housing prices, schools blitzed with influxes of non-English-speaking pupils, jammed highways, welfare burdens, inter-ethnic strife, ….)  Meanwhile, in recent years, the Gallup organization has done worldwide polls revealing that 160 million adults want to move to the U.S., and the number would be much bigger when we count their children.”

Above all of this invasion, our national debt stands at $21 trillion.  Anybody see a problem with that?

Additionally, we face a fractured and fragmented Congress seething to disembowel President Trump and all Republicans.  We face 240 Sanctuary Cities supporting all illegal aliens living within their boundaries.  We face millions of employers cheating our tax codes by hiring illegals for a fraction of a living wage.

And yet, we’re expected to care for the rest of the world’s desperately poor, disenfranchised and sick.  At the same time, those same third world refugees produce a net gain of 80,000,000 (million) new babies annually around the world.

US bishops oppose immigration raids, Trump defers

Quote
Washington D.C., Jun 24, 2019 / 11:12 am (CNA).- On Saturday US President Donald Trump announced he would delay immigration raids meant to begin that weekend, and the US bishops stated their opposition to the planned deportations.

“We recognize the right of nations to control their borders in a just and proportionate manner. However, broad enforcement actions instigate panic in our communities and will not serve as an effective deterrent to irregular migration,” Bishop Joe Vásquez of Austin said June 22.

“Instead, we should focus on the root causes in Central America that have compelled so many to leave their homes in search of safety and reform our immigration system with a view toward justice and the common good,” said the bishop, who chairs the US bishops’ migration committee.

He added: “We stand ready to work with the Administration and Congress to achieve those objectives.”

Trump had announced upcoming immigration raids June 17, but on Saturday said he would delay the action two weeks, to allow Congress to modify US asylum law.

The Trump administration is eager to reduce the number of illegal immigrants in the US.

Earlier this month, Mexico agreed to take measures to reduce the number of migrants to the US, in order to avoid the imposition of tariffs.

Some 6,000 National Guard troops will be assigned to Mexico’s southern border with Guatemala, and some asylum seekers in the US will be sent to Mexico to wait while their claims are processed.

In the US, the House passed a bill June 4 that would provide a citizenship path for some brought to the US illegally as children, as well as for qualified holders of Temporary Protected Status or Deferred Enforced Departure.

Bishop Vásquez commented that “Dreamers, TPS and DED holders are working to make our communities and parishes strong and are vital contributors to our country. We welcome today’s vote and urge the Senate to take up this legislation which gives permanent protection to Dreamers, TPS and DED holders.”

The bill, the American Dream and Promise Act of 2019, would grant qualifying childhood arrivals 10 years of legal residence, after which they could receive permanent legal residence with two years of higher education or military service, or three years of employment. Those with TPS or DED could apply for lawful permanent residence if they have been in the country for at least three years and have passed background checks. After five years of lawful permanent residence, they would apply for citizenship.

In May, Bishop Vásquez and Cardinal Daniel DiNardo of Houston, president of the US bishops’ conference, voiced concern over a separate immigration plan from the Trump administration which prioritizes immigration status based on merit rather than family ties.

“We oppose proposals that seek to curtail family-based immigration and create a largely ‘merit-based’ immigration system,” they said. “Families are the foundation of our faith, our society, our history, and our immigration system.”

https://www.nytimes.com/1984/01/26/world/vatican-is-reported-to-have-furnished-aid-to-fleeing-nazis.html

Article below from link above, emphasis is mine. My comments in blue.

This article addresses just one of the serious problems in recorded history, with the Catholic churches constant involvement in sanctuary and immigration or emigration movements. They infamously shield and protect wanted criminals, as evidenced in our own country to date in our sanctuary cities and states who refuse to cooperate with federal immigration laws and their enforcement.

Quote
VATICAN IS REPORTED TO HAVE FURNISHED AID TO FLEEING NAZIS

Allegations of Vatican involvement in the escape of Nazi war criminals after World War II have emerged in statements by a French Nazi-hunter and a declassified State Department report.

According to Serge Klarsfeld, a Paris lawyer who has specialized in tracking down fugitive Nazis, Walter Rauff, a former SS colonel wanted for the mass gassing of Jews in mobile death vans, told in 1962 of having been given refuge in Vatican City convents for 18 months after the war.

Chile, which has harbored the 77- year-old Mr. Rauff for more than 25 years, is now facing growing demands for his expulsion. Yesterday Israel made a formal request to Chile for Mr. Rauff's extradition. And Simon Wiesenthal, the Vienna-based Nazi-hunter, and a Los Angeles institute affiliated with him said the State Department had recently taken an interest in the case. Historian Obtains Report

The formerly top secret State Department report, dated 1947 and never officially made public, called the Vatican ''the largest single organization involved in the illegal movement of emigrants,'' including Nazis. The report was obtained by a historian of the Holocaust, Charles R. Allen Jr. of Manhattan, who made it available to The New York Times.

The reported role of Roman Catholic Church officials in helping purported Nazi war criminals escape from Europe has long been the subject of controversy. Catholic officials and others have argued that even if some priests helped Nazis escape from Europe, there is no evidence that these priests acted with the support - or even the knowledge - of the Vatican.

The 1947 report, which was prepared by a Foreign Service officer in Rome, Vincent La Vista, said that ''in countries where the church is a controlling or dominating factor, the Vatican has brought pressure to bear which has resulted in the foreign missions of those Latin American countries taking an attitude almost favoring the entry into their country of former Nazi and former Fascists or other political groups, so long as they are anti-Communist.''

It also said ''the justification of the Vatican for its participation in this illegal traffic is simply the propagation of the faith.''

At the same time, according to other historical sources, Vatican relief groups were also helping many thousands of legitimate refugees. 'It's a Big Issue'

In Rome yesterday the Rev. Romeo Panciroli, the director of the Vatican press office, said he could not comment on the report, adding that he would reply only to a written request and that he would need ''at least a couple of days'' to consult Vatican archives before answering. ''I wasn't here at the time and it's a big issue,'' he said. The Times will make a written request to Father Panciroli's office.

Last summer a Vatican spokesman in Rome, the Rev. Pierfranco Pastore, was reported as having dismissed as ''absolutely absurd'' an article in the magazine Reform Judaism written by Mr. Allen that was based on a copy of the State Department report. Father Pastore was quoted as having told The Associated Press: ''It doesn't even merit a denial. Absolutely.'' But yesterday Father Pastore denied that he had made these comments ''on the record'' and said he could not comment publicly.

The report named a ''notorious'' smuggler of Nazis, Dr. Willi Nix, as one who operated under ''the benevolent protection of the Vatican'' and who ''fled to the Vatican'' minutes before he was to be apprehended by the Italian authorities. It went on to list the names of 22 clerics it linked to the illegal emigration. The report also documented an ''underground railroad'' by Jewish groups smuggling supporters to Palestine and other illegal emigration operations by Hungarians and Communist intelligence rings.

The National Archives has confirmed the authenticity of the report, but a State Department spokesman, Joseph W. Reap Jr., said he had no information on it.

The secretary of the new Papal Embassy in Washington, the Rev. Nicholas Halligan, said he was not familiar with the matter and could not comment.

Efforts to find Mr. La Vista were unavailing. State Department personnel and retirements offices said their records did not reflect any address for Mr. La Vista now. An organization of retired Foreign Service officers in Washington also said it had no record of him. Lack of Information Noted

The Rev. Antonio Weber, who during World War II headed the Vatican's organization for emigration aid, Opera San Raffaele, said his office had helped many people, including some 20,000 Jews fleeing Hitler, without in many cases knowing their real identities.

''We didn't know if they were or weren't war criminals,'' Father Weber said in an interview. ''Even if these war criminals came with their real names, who knew at the time they were war criminals? We could only believe what they told us.''

As efforts stepped up to gain Mr. Rauff's expulsion from Chile, the Simon Wiesenthal Center of Yeshiva University in Los Angeles said it had sent a telegram to Elliott Abrams, Assistant Secretary of State for Human Rights, calling for American pressure on the Chilean Government.

In Paris last week, Mr. Klarsfeld issued the text of a statement that Mr. Rauff made in December 1962 to the Supreme Court of Chile. Mr. Klarsfeld's wife, Beate, is in Santiago, the Chilean capital, seeking the extradition of Mr. Rauff so he can stand trial for war crimes in West Germany or Israel. Chile declined to extradite Mr. Rauff in 1963 on the ground that its statute of limitations on the crimes with which he was accused had expired. Arrested by U.S. Troops

In the statement, Mr. Rauff is quoted as saying he was arrested by American troops on April 30, 1945, in Milan. He was held until the end of 1946, when he escaped and went to Naples.

''There, I was helped by a Catholic priest to go to Rome where I stayed more or less 18 months, always in convents of the Holy See,'' Mr. Rauff said.

According to Mr. Wiesenthal, who spoke from Vienna, Mr. Rauff escaped from the Rimini detention camp with the help of a German prioress who then hid him in a Franciscan monastery.

''I was given a job as a teacher of French and mathematics in an orphanage called Via Pia in Rome,'' Mr. Rauff's account continued. ''With the help of the Catholic Church, my family was able to escape from the Russian- occupied zone in Germany and come to Rome.'
'

After being reunited with his family, Mr. Rauff moved to Damascus, where he worked for the Syrian Government. In 1949 he and his family moved to Ecuador and nine years later went to Chile. Mr. Rauff still lives in Chile, though he does not have Chilean citizenship and travels on a German passport.

Mr. Klarsfeld said he doubted that Mr. Rauff's reference to ''convents of the Holy See'' was simply another way of saying Roman Catholic convents. Mr. Klarsfeld also said he was skeptical that Mr. Rauff would either lie or exaggerate before the Chilean court. Pope's Role Discussed

''He made his declaration in a Catholic country,'' Mr. Klarsfeld said. ''The judicial authorities would have checked it and it would have been a very bad thing for him if he had said something untrue.''

Mr. Klarsfeld said he did not think the Pope at the time, Pius XII, was aware Mr. Rauff had been given refuge in Vatican-connected facilities.

''I don't believe that,'' he said. ''But I don't believe that the Pope was that strongly against this. If he had been strongly opposed, it wouldn't have happened. He may have been misinformed and the priests who wanted to do this went ahead on their own.''

According to Mr. Klarsfeld, Mr. Rauff is ''one of the most wanted Nazi criminals'' living outside Germany. Mr. Klarsfeld equated Mr. Rauff with the Nazi ''doctor'' Joseph Mengele, who is believed by many to be living in Paraguay, and Alois Brunner, whom the Klarsfelds located in Damascus in 1982.

Mr. Klarsfeld said that Mr. Rauff had been head of the team responsible for the preparation and equipping of the mobile killing units, as well as for the creation of the mobile gas vans used to put Jews to death before Hitler's death camps were completed. 200,000 Killed in Vans

An estimated 200,000 Jews in the Soviet Union, Poland, Yugoslavia, Lithuania, Estonia and Latvia were killed in the vans, which were often disguised with Red Cross emblems.

Colonel Rauff himself is said to have signed a secret report on July 5, 1942, noting that since the previous December ''97,000 have been processed.''

In his statement to the Chilean court, as translated by Mr. Klarsfeld's office, Mr. Rauff acknowledged that ''I helped organize the truck service'' and that ''I was the head of the technical groups at the security police headquarters.''

''Those so-called special trucks were destined for not only the extermination of Jews; also those who had been sentenced to death,'' he said.

''I must stress,'' Mr. Rauff continued, ''that although the technical office under my orders had to do with the special trucks used to produce death by asphyxia, the mission of this office was only related to the technical aspects and had nothing to do with the execution of people. So I didn't know if these trucks were used to kill Jews.''

He added, ''In this matter, I did not operate on my own authority but on superior orders.'' 'Under a Military Regime'

At another point, Mr. Rauff said: ''I should add that the group where I served was under a military regime as was all the police. It would have cost me my immediate death had I not followed orders.'' Klaus Barbie, who was head of the Gestapo in Lyons between 1942 and 1944, was assisted in getting papers to travel in the name of Klaus Altmann to Bolivia by both the United States Government and a Catholic priest, the Rev. Stefano Dragonovich. Mr. Barbie, whom the Klarsfelds helped identify, was sent back to France last year by Bolivia after a change in Bolivia's Government. Mr. Barbie awaits trial in Lyons for ''crimes against humanity.''

Eugene J. Fisher, executive secretary of the Secretariat for Catholic- Jewish Relations of the National Conference of Catholic Bishops, said Tuesday that he had reviewed the La Vista report last summer when Mr. Allen first wrote of it. Dr. Fisher said that Mr. La Vista gave no basis for his conclusions on Vatican policy. ''He extrapolated beyond what he investigated,'' Dr. Fisher said

The La Vista report saw official Vatican sponsorship behind the largest illegal emigration movements in and through Italy.

Mr. La Vista wrote that he had visited and talked with most of the clerics and illegal operatives named in his report, with the exception of ''the notorious Dr. Nix,'' who was head of the Free German Committee in Italy and was aiding escaped German prisoners of war. But Dr. Nix, according to the La Vista report, was also receiving money from ''Communist-Yugoslav elements'' and might have been linked to Soviet espionage. Missed Arrest by Minutes

''After a very cautious investigation,'' the report went on, ''this writer was able to learn that several weeks ago, the Italian Government, after a secret investigation, had ordered the arrest of Dr. Nix.'' Yet, it went on, ''only a matter of minutes before Dr. Nix's actual apprehension, he was able to learn of his imminent arrest and fled to the Vatican where he is now residing. It has always been suspected that Dr. Nix was operating under the benevolent protection of the Vatican. His flight and present sanctuary in Vatican City is positive proof of this fact.''

The report continued: ''The Vatican of course is the largest single organization involved in the illegal movement of emigrants,'' followed by Jewish agencies and Hungarian and displaced persons groups. The Jewish underground, it said, was dedicated to smuggling Jews into Palestine and Egypt. All these groups, it said, used the passport services of the International Red Cross. An examination of Red Cross records in Geneva, Mr. La Vista predicted, ''would reveal startling and unbelievable facts.'' Mr. Allen wrote that other American documents showed the matter was later taken up with the Red Cross.

Saying that the Vatican's justification was propagation of the faith, Mr. La Vista went on: ''It is the Vatican's desire to assist any person, regardless of nationality or political beliefs, as long as that person can prove himself to be a Catholic. This of course from the practical point of view is a dangerous practice. The Vatican further justifies its participation by its desire to infiltrate, not only European countries, but Latin American countries as well, with people of all political beliefs as long as they are anti-Communist and pro-Catholic Church.''

The report described how Mr. La Vista followed the trail of 20 German prisoners who had broken out of the Rimini detention camp where they were being held in 1946. It said the trail led to a Carlo Haas, a former Nazi security officer, and to priests in Rome.

It is a no brainer, that wanted criminals seek to hide themselves among the masses, undocumented masses are all the better. Thus the Vatican's immigration stance and policies implemented wherever her adherents are able to facilitate the same, become a magnate for wanted criminals. It gets them away from where they may be wanted, and then protects them where they are from indictment of crimes committed in their new location or previous ones. This is of course apart from the issue of using the mass of immigrants they transport from one place to another, to politically subvert the nations they are put within, among other issues such as the financial burden they create. The Church of Rome's policies are detrimental to all but herself.

The following eight states have the highest Catholic populations in the US. They are also all sanctuary states. Those who think religion does not effect politics should think again. While no religious test should should applied to candidates for various political offices, a healthy education regarding the religion of those candidates and how it will effect their politics is essential to educated voting. Religions which unite the spiritual and temporal powers of course want large numbers of their adherents within nations whose government or constitutions they wish to subvert. Open boarders provides easy facilitation of the same.

Rhode Island The state with the highest Catholic population.

California  Among the top 8 states with the highest Catholic population. Catholic Governor Gavin Newsom. Catholic Senator Kevin de Leon introduced the bill to make California a sanctuary state. Catholic Governor Jerry Brown who completed school to become a Jesuit “but didn’t” signed bill making California a sanctuary state.

Connecticut   Among the top 4 states with the highest Catholic population. Roman Catholic Governor Daniel Malloy who Attended Jesuit Boston College for both undergraduate and law school, approved the sanctuary state bill.

Massachusetts  Among the top 4 states with the highest Catholic population.

New York  Among the top six states with highest Catholic population. Catholic Democrat Francisco Moya called for New York to become a “sanctuary state”. Catholic governor Cuomo signed a bill allowing illegal immigrants to obtain New York drivers licenses.

New Jersey  Among the top 4 states with the highest Catholic population. Attorney General Gurbir Grewal issued a directive turning the Garden State into a sanctuary state. Catholic Governor Phil Murphy supports the same.

Illinois  Among the top 8 states with the highest Catholic population. Catholics Sen. Don Harmon, and Rep. Celina Villanueva pushed the agenda.

New Mexico  Among the top 4 states with the highest Catholic population, due no doubt to being the state with the largest percent of  Hispanic residents. Catholics Reps. Angelica Rubio, and Antonio “Moe” Maestas pushed the agenda and bill.

Quoted article below from link above.

Quote
Pope Francis Refuses to Meet with Popular Italian Politician Matteo Salvini Due to His Hardliner Stance on Immigration

According to reports from Italy Pope Francis will not meet with Lega (League) Party leader and Minister of the Interior Matteo Salvini.

Salvini is a devout Catholic who regularly attends mass but Pope Francis allegedly won’t meet with him because of his hardliner stance on immigration.

Salvini wants to protect the homeland from an invasion of third world and mostly Muslim illegal migrants.

Via John Gizzi at Newsmax:

According to the Italian publications Il Giorno and Il Mio Giornale, Salvini has attempted to secure a papal audience and been rebuffed each time. Both sources reported Salvini had been told “a meeting could not occur if Salvini continues in his tough position regarding migrants.”

For his part, Salvini, 46, a practicing Catholic, insists he follows Church teaching and his policies are designed to support immigration for reasons of security and to stop trafficking and smuggling.

As examples that his policy on migrants is in accordance with his Church, Salvini and his supporters cite the Catechism of the Catholic Church (Paragraph 2241): “Political authorities, for the sake of the common good for which they are responsible, may make the exercise of the right to immigrate subject to various juridical conditions, especially with regard to the immigrants’ duties toward their country of adoption. Immigrants are obliged to respect with gratitude the material and spiritual heritage of the country that receives them, to obey its laws and to assist in carrying civic burdens.”

They also point out Francis’ viewpoint is not universal among Church leaders. Robert Cardinal Sarah of Guinea, prefect of the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments, has said a nation has the right to differentiate between refugees and economic migrants.

Another prime example of blatant attempted manipulation of Catholic politicians by the church of Rome. Damn Italy and all other nations and peoples, their historical cultures, wealth, political ideologies, and accomplishments are to be sacrificed at the alter of of the papacies will. Which will is to destroy all sovereign nations and peoples who are independently successful and prosperous, in creating a global two class society of elites and peasants all dependent upon her and the global governing body she is in bed with. The redistribution of the wealth of all independent and prosperous nations through mass migration tactics is one of her effective tools unto the same. Draining the wealth of productive successful societies while disrupting their successful political institutions and methods, and displacing and undermining existing societal structures with the same. These tactics are not new, but as history testifies they are very effective. Bring it BABYLON, the moment your goals are realized your doom is absolutely certain, and our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will return and end all deceptive and abusive rule. This will of course mean ending you altogether.

Rev 18:1 And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory. 2 And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird. 3 For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies. 4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. 5 For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities. 6 Reward her even as she rewarded you, and double unto her double according to her works: in the cup which she hath filled fill to her double. 7 How much she hath glorified herself, and lived deliciously, so much torment and sorrow give her: for she saith in her heart, I sit a queen, and am no widow, and shall see no sorrow. 8 Therefore shall her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong is the Lord God who judgeth her. 9 And the kings of the earth, who have committed fornication and lived deliciously with her, shall bewail her, and lament for her, when they shall see the smoke of her burning, 10 Standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, Alas, alas, that great city Babylon, that mighty city! for in one hour is thy judgment come. 11 And the merchants of the earth shall weep and mourn over her; for no man buyeth their merchandise any more: 12 The merchandise of gold, and silver, and precious stones, and of pearls, and fine linen, and purple, and silk, and scarlet, and all thyine wood, and all manner vessels of ivory, and all manner vessels of most precious wood, and of brass, and iron, and marble, 13 And cinnamon, and odours, and ointments, and frankincense, and wine, and oil, and fine flour, and wheat, and beasts, and sheep, and horses, and chariots, and slaves, and souls of men. 14 And the fruits that thy soul lusted after are departed from thee, and all things which were dainty and goodly are departed from thee, and thou shalt find them no more at all. 15 The merchants of these things, which were made rich by her, shall stand afar off for the fear of her torment, weeping and wailing, 16 And saying, Alas, alas, that great city, that was clothed in fine linen, and purple, and scarlet, and decked with gold, and precious stones, and pearls! 17 For in one hour so great riches is come to nought. And every shipmaster, and all the company in ships, and sailors, and as many as trade by sea, stood afar off, 18 And cried when they saw the smoke of her burning, saying, What city is like unto this great city! 19 And they cast dust on their heads, and cried, weeping and wailing, saying, Alas, alas, that great city, wherein were made rich all that had ships in the sea by reason of her costliness! for in one hour is she made desolate. 20 Rejoice over her, thou heaven, and ye holy apostles and prophets; for God hath avenged you on her. 21 And a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone, and cast it into the sea, saying, Thus with violence shall that great city Babylon be thrown down, and shall be found no more at all. 22 And the voice of harpers, and musicians, and of pipers, and trumpeters, shall be heard no more at all in thee; and no craftsman, of whatsoever craft he be, shall be found any more in thee; and the sound of a millstone shall be heard no more at all in thee; 23 And the light of a candle shall shine no more at all in thee; and the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee: for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived. 24 And in her was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all that were slain upon the earth.

One proved method of Romanizing states and countries without conversions as the primary source, is through massive immigration. This method of course is greatly assisted by and somewhat dependent upon said religion being carried on more by tradition than conversions. That is a membership which people are simply born into rather than born again into. Thus the children of all members are members as well by birth. It is helpful of course for this type of religion to represent all attempts at birth control as sin, since said religion is dependent upon new borns to replenish the ranks. There have been several massive immigrations of Roman Catholics to this nation since its inception, and this is still going on. All of course encouraged and even facilitated by the Roman Catholic church. The following article is just more of the latest concerning the south.

I find it highly amusing when one sect that is rife with false doctrine and theology continually points fingers at, and condemns another sect filled with false doctrine and theology.  The RCC and SDA sects are one-stop shopping when it comes to flawed doctrine and bad theology.  You should, perhaps look in your own back yard and throw out your own junk before you complain about the junk in your neighbors back yard.  You are continually unable to answer basic questions about your own chosen denominations problems, but here you are, day after day, whining about Catholics.  You BOTH follow the same basically flawed rational:  Salvation by works.  Your swapping of the day you go to church from Sunday to Saturday isn't going to save you.  And while you are relying on a work to save you, you cannot use Christ's ultimate sacrifice to cleanse you, because you've thrown that sacrifice in the trash.

All Americans are compelled to pay taxes, and hundreds of millions of dollars of their tax money is given to the Catholic church every year to facilitate massive legal and illegal immigration into this country against the will of the people in this also. Just another one of the many methods of manipulation imposed upon all willing or not by Rome.

And SDA hospitals perform elective abortions any time anyone asks for one.  And you directly support those abortions by both your tithes, and your membership in that denomination.  The death of an unborn child is much worse than someone entering this country illegally.   When will you deal with THAT inconsistency in your position?

More big words and accusations, that is all. No one has to change God's sabbath from the first day of the week to seventh day of the week. God's sabbath has always and only been on the seventh day of the week. Sunday keepers alone have made a change addressed nowhere in scripture. Your puny accusations to the effect that keeping God's sabbath is works based salvation is therefore applicable also to any person anywhere who will actually obey God or do what they think He wants equalling salvation by works. Same old warn out accusations again and again.

You have no problem with people literally wanting to force everyone to keep the day they have chosen as rest in God according to their own faith, through human legislation, but instead attack those who call for all to observe God's sabbath by faith in His word alone, and accuse them of legalism rather than the former according to your own manner of deception. So be it. We haven't seen anything yet concerning this issue, which will become paramount in the near future.

You will stand in judgement before God for declaring that I have trashed the sacrifice of His Son on my behalf by simply wanting to keep the Sabbath of my God whom His Son Jesus is Lord of. Nevertheless, may God judge between us. His declaration will be true and final.

And SDA hospitals perform elective abortions any time anyone asks for one.  And you directly support those abortions by both your tithes, and your membership in that denomination.  The death of an unborn child is much worse than someone entering this country illegally.   When will you deal with THAT inconsistency in your position?

There you go again, judging things about which you know nothing. My tithes and offering go to very specific places, not just the local church offering plate, for the exact reasons you state. The SDA church is involved in many things I do not agree with, and will have no part in. I do not defend the present SDA denomination which is rapidly Romeward bound along with most others. I defend the true original doctrines espoused by those early pioneers who sought God's guidance and Holy Spirit in formulating the same. Not the moral decline and abandonment of previous beliefs which eventually enters into all denominations which are around long enough. I have no problem with others identifying real problems within my denomination which I know exist. To the contrary, preach it brother, I am no die hard denomination defender, I prefer to defend truth, not a denomination. The pro and anti abortion divisions exist in many denominations because of apostasy, certainly not truth. You know how I feel about the commandments of God, and therefore the murder of the unborn. Accepting certain complicated issues where I feel parents alone should be left with the decision, abortion is simply murder.

Nevertheless, this thread is about the use of immigration as a manipulative political tool for bringing about change that most citizens of particular nations do not want. As usual, having apparently no good argument against the same, you have changed the subject. Address the issue of the thread please, or start another one. Stop trying to divert the subject concerning that which you have no answer for. If you do not want to address the issue, then simply do not post on this thread. Nevertheless you and I are free to do as we wish for now. Though serious censorship is rapidly on the way. That is another topic altogether though.

Been a while since I have posted on this thread, certainly not because the issue has gone away. The following linked article is a bit dated but certainly on topic.

https://www.cnn.com/2020/01/13/us/catholic-bishops-texas-abbott-refugees/index.html

Quote
Every Catholic bishop in Texas is slamming Gov. Abbott's decision to bar refugees

All 16 of Texas' Catholic bishops have issued a joint statement slamming Gov. Greg Abbott, who is Catholic, for announcing the state will bar refugees in 2020.

The bishops call Abbott's decision "misguided" and say it "denies people who are fleeing persecution, including religious persecution, from being able to bring their gifts and talents to our state and contribute to the general common good of all Texans."

"As Catholics, an essential aspect of our faith is to welcome the stranger and care for the alien," the bishops say in the statement, issued Friday.

Texas is home to about 8.5 million Catholics, nearly 30% of the state's population. Abbott himself has often cited his Catholic faith to defend conservative policies.

Under an executive order signed by President Trump, groups that resettle refugees must submit their plans -- including agreements with states and local governments -- by Jan. 21. At least 41 governors have consented to resettle refugees in their state.

But Abbott, who in 2015 unsuccessfully sued to stop the Obama administration from resettling Syrian refugees in Texas, said in a letter Friday to Secretary of State Mike Pompeo that Texas has already done its part to aid migrants.

Since 2010, Texas has received more refugees than any other state -- about 10% of the nationwide total, the governor said in the letter. The Pew Research Center reports that since 2002 Texas has accepted more than 88,000 refugees -- more than any state but California.

"Texas has carried more than its share in assisting the refugee resettlement process and appreciates that other states are available to help with these efforts," Abbott said.

Texas becomes the first state under Trump's order to say it will no longer accept refugees.

John Whitman, a spokesman for Abbott, said: "No one seeking refugee status in the United States will be denied that status because of the Texas decision."

Whitman also said Abbott's decision does not stop refugees from moving to Texas after initially settling in another state.

But Lutheran Immigration and Refugees Service, another faith-based group, condemned Abbott's move.

"Nearly 2,500 refugees started to rebuild their lives in Texas last year, many of whom have additional family members in harm's way seeking to join them in safety," said Krish O'Mara Vignarajah, the group's president in a statement.

"These families have been torn apart by violence, war and persecution -- but we never thought they would be needlessly separated by a U.S. state official."

The Trump administration has said it intends to cap the number of refugees it will admit in the next fiscal year at 18,000 -- down from 30,000 from the year before and 110,000 allowed in 2016 under President Barack Obama.

Of course, in reality the vast majority of the immigrants entering our nation are not suffering persecution or in grave danger, but simply seeking to improve their lives. The vast majority are also Roman Catholics from south of our borders. Their dependents and therefore vote is the ultimate purpose of the Catholic Churches facilitation and support of immigration.

I was gong to post and address Tucker Carlson's right on rant about immigration, and add what he of course did not address, the Vaticans involvement and plans regrading the same. Any who have read the posts on these boards knows that I have been ranting about the same for many years now. However, my wife sent me a link to the above link which adequately addresses the same. The following quoted article is from it.

Changing the Political and Religious Colors of The United States

April 16, 2021 Dr. Alberto R. Treiyer

Recently, news commentator Tucker Carlson dared to unmask the immigration policy of the current U.S. government.  He said, literally:

“When you change who votes, you change who wins.  That fact has nothing inherently to do with race or nationality.  It’s the nature of democracy.” “Demographic change is the key to … political ambitions.  In order to win and maintain power,” the current government “plan to change the population of the country.  They’re no longer trying to win you over with their program.  They’re obviously not trying to improve your life.  They don’t even really care about your vote anymore.  Their goal is to make you irrelevant.”

That policy is not new.  The Assyrian kings took most of the ten tribes of northern Israel captive, and brought peoples from other countries to take their place.  The story is found in 2 Kings 17.  In modern times, Adolf Hitler resorted to the same method when he tried to fill Poland with millions of German immigrants but went further still.  He wanted to empty Poland, Belarus and Ukraine of the millions of nationalist people who lived there, giving their houses and properties to German immigrants.

When millions of Jews wanted to emigrate from the ethnic cleansing of Nazism in Germany, major countries, including the U.S., refused to give them a mass reception, fearing that in time they would lose their right to govern themselves under Christian principles.  That led the German Führer to the Final Solution, their total extermination. The Holocaust Museum in Washington, DC documents that fact.

A Religious Strategy

The immigration plan of the new U.S. government goes beyond the attempt to perpetuate the actual ruling party.  It seeks to attract millions of illegal immigrants to whom it promises even greater benefits than it gives its own citizens.  Tucker Carlson warned that such immigration policy seeks to change the political color of the states to perennially dominate the population.  But he didn’t dare admit the reality that this is only a half-truth.  No one wants to expose the religious intent of a Catholic president who supports Pope Francis’ agenda on climate change to gain control of the world.

Joe Biden is also wanting to change America’s image as a Protestant country.  The purpose is to bring about a change in the system of government.  He seeks not only a political dominance more akin with the Marxist left, but also with socialist Catholic morality to impose the supremacy of the papacy.

Behind the veil can be seen the same policy that the papacy exerted to awaken the jealousy of the rulers against Protestant growth in Europe.  Here we will mention two quotes from the Spirit of Prophecy about this policy of Rome.

“Rome was not slow to inflame their jealous fears. Said the pope to the regent of France in 1525: ‘This mania [Protestantism] will not only confound and destroy religion, but all principalities, nobility, laws, orders, and ranks besides.’ (G. de Felice, History of the Protestants of France, b. 1, ch. 2, par. 8. A few years later a papal nuncio warned the king: ‘Sire, be not deceived. The Protestants will upset all civil as well as religious order … The throne is in as much danger as the altar … The introduction of a new religion must necessarily introduce a new government’ (D’Aubigne, History of the Reformation in Europe in the Time of Calvin, b. 2, ch. 36;” GC 277).

 Statistics

Although the polls vary according to the companies investigating the religious representation in America, the most recent ones show a greater deterioration of Protestantism than that of Catholicism, and a growth in atheism.  The easiest way to overcome Protestantism is by attracting millions of immigrants from Catholic countries to a Protestant country. With a change in demographics, political and religious colors are likewise changed.

“Twenty-five years ago, nearly nine in ten (87%) Catholics were white, non-Hispanic, compared to 55% today.  Fewer than four in ten (36%) Catholics under the age of 30 are white, non-Hispanic; 52% are Hispanic.”

Some Key Statements of the Spirit of Prophecy

Let us draw some key points from the statements of the Spirit of Prophecy concerning the role of the USA in the final crisis.

“When … our country shall repudiate every principle of its Constitution as a Protestant and Republican government and shall make provision for the propagation of papal falsehoods and delusions, then we may know that the time has come for the marvelous working of Satan and that the end is near” (5 T 451 (1885)).

“The people of the United States have been a favored people, but when they restrict religious liberty, surrender Protestantism, and give countenance to popery, the measure of their guilt will be full, and ‘national apostasy’ will be registered in the books of heaven” (RH May 2, 1893).

“Roman Catholic principles will be taken under the care and protection of the state. This national apostasy will speedily be followed by national ruin. (RH June 15, 1897).

 Methodology

The method that is being used to change the political and religious colors of the U.S. is that of promoting the “woke” culture.  What is the “woke” culture?  It promotes unrest regarding immigration policy, race and gender identity, promoting hatred by the poor against what they consider white supremacy.  Tucker Carlson warned that no one wants to talk about the true purpose of those who promote “woke” hatred.  No one can talk about the moral problems of gender identity changes because they are condemned as homophobic, etc.  In this way, new political and religious principles are imposed over all criticism and opposition, to rule the masses and destroy the true democracy and freedom of this country.

In a news interview with Ben Carson on April 9, the famous black doctor said the divine slogan is, “love your neighbor.”  But he added that the wokeism slogan is, “cancel your neighbor.”  He also said that the more the government expands, the more individual freedoms are curtailed, because God is discarded in favor of  the government.  It implements hatred against white supremacy that allegedly discriminates against blacks, Asians, Hispanics, and those who deny their biological gender identity.  But do those who raise that hate flag really love those people? You can’t love by hating others.

Conclusion

Immigration can be good.  And most countries of the world know it.  In general, it seeks to attract the most capable and industrious people for the aggrandizement of the nation.  But is that what you are looking for today with illegal immigration, regardless of the risks involved?  There will be a lot of good, sincere and hard-working people among these immigrants.  Still, should we not watch to hinder evil people from coming, who will eventually lead this country to ruin?  Let us meditate on the following quotation that is based on the history of the Pilgrim Fathers, and their contribution to the formation of this country.

“As the tidings spread through the countries of Europe, of a land where every man might enjoy the fruit of his own labor and obey the convictions of his own conscience, thousands flocked to the shores of the New World. Colonies rapidly multiplied” (GC 296).

“Republicanism and Protestantism became the fundamental principles of the nation. These principles are the secret of its power and prosperity. The oppressed and downtrodden throughout Christendom have turned to this land with interest and hope. Millions have sought its shores, and the United States has risen to a place among the most powerful nations of the earth” (GC 441).

“But continually increasing numbers were attracted to the shores of America, actuated by motives widely different from those of the first Pilgrims. Though the primitive faith and purity exerted a widespread and molding power, yet its influence became less and less as the numbers increased of those who sought only worldly advantage” (GC 297).

Quoted article below is from yet another voice addressing the concerns of this thread, and is from the link above.

A Repudiation of The Protestant Origin of The USA

Some days ago I wrote a document where I considered the background of the migratory policy of the current presidential administration of the USA.  With the acceptance of massive illegal entrance of people coming from Catholic countries, Joe Biden proposes to gradually change the Protestant and Republican system of this country.

A friend of mine from South Korea, Koot Van Wyk, shared with me an additional testimony from history dealing with the political immigration of Rome when the barbarians were expelled from the city in the year 538. That policy purposed to impose the Catholic faith in Rome, facilitating the beginning of papal rule.  He wrote:

“Adventists and non-Adventist scholarly friends are very impressed with your” document… “What Biden is doing now is exactly what Procopius explained in his biography of Justinian. In 538 Justinian settled immigrants in Rome, took land from Roman citizens and gave it to foreigners. Rome was in chaos.”

Does the Current President of The USA Hate Protestant American History?
Other evidence reveals a veiled attempt of Joe Biden to change the political and religious image of the USA.  Biden seems to hate the Protestant history of the USA, apparently supporting those who consider this Protestant country a non-Christian country.  Why?  Because the left is now exploiting a weakness in that history to tarnish the image of Protestant America, discounting the great principles of freedom left by the heroes of the American Revolution.  What was that weak point?  Black slavery.

It is noticeable that Biden also canceled the orders of Trump to protect the monuments of the heroes of the USA, as well as the monuments Trump planned to build of American historical figures linked to Protestantism.  But Biden didn’t demolish the statue of John Paul II in Washington DC.

Biden pretends to liberate America from Protestant capitalism by imposing the Roman Catholic social agenda which in some ways follows a similar pattern of the communist agenda, now under a religious guise in order to accrue power.  He—like the pope and most Latin-American political leaders now—wants to strengthen the power of the state at the expense of the people, increasing taxes and making the people dependent on the generosity of the state.  He wants to do like “the kings of the Gentiles who wanted to lord over them,” exercising “authority over them and calling themselves benefactors” (Luke 22:25).

But, what has the Roman Catholic Church to offer to a Protestant country?  Was the Middle Ages better than the freedom brought by Protestantism?

Just to start, look at the wealth of the Vatican, and then, compare it with what cardinals and bishops are doing everywhere,

“Conscientious souls are kept in constant terror fearing the wrath of an offended God, while many of the dignitaries of the church are living in luxury and sensual pleasure” (GC 568).

Are now the popes really presuming that they have the moral vision to impose on the world a better distribution of money?  If the popes were unable to bring peace and righteousness for more than a millennium to the peoples over whom they ruled, will they be able to unite the nations under the Roman Catholic banner to set a new Christian order better than what Protestantism could build in two centuries?

Slavery
The popes kept slaves for centuries, and justified slavery for life of pagan Africans in certain “bulls” issued during the Middle Ages.  Who introduced slavery in the modern world?  The Roman Catholic Church.  After the American continent was discovered, theologians in Valladolid met to discuss if Indians had a soul and, therefore, were human beings or not.  Some reached the conclusion that yes, they were human beings, and consequently they could not be enslaved to serve their masters like domestic animals.  Thus, Indians could be Christianized in the Catholic faith. In order to get people to do the work that Christianized people could not be forced to do, they decided to bring black people from pagan Africa to occupy their place at the service of the Conquistadores.

Evangelical Contribution to the Papal Influence in the USA
Billy Graham considered pope John Paul II as “Bridge Builder” (the original meaning of Pontiff), attributed formerly to pagan priests during the Roman Empire.  And he believed that the pope had become “the moral leader of the world.”  Former president George W. Bush called John Paul II a “Hero for the Ages.”

Rick Warren called all Christians to submit to the pope, calling him “our pope,” and “the pope of all Christians.”

We could continue quoting Protestants and Evangelicals admiring and looking for the favor of recent popes.  They were either completely unaware of the real intentions of the Vatican or, naïvely presupposing that the world had changed enough as not to allow the supremacy of the bishop of Rome again on the world.

What was the warning of the Spirit of Prophecy to the Protestant World who is today wooing the papacy?

“God’s world has given warning of the impending danger; let this be unheeded, and the Protestant world will learn what the purposes of Rome really are, only when it is too late to escape the snare” (GC 581).

 Dangers for Seventh-day Adventists
Should not we as Seventh-day Adventists pay attention to that warning of the Spirit of Prophecy?  The trend of the administration of our church in some European countries is more toward a Post-Modern Liberal Evangelical form of the Emergent Church than a Seventh-day Adventist representation.  Some are deciding to ordain women and form part of the World Council of Churches, fomenting a national congregationalism instead of a united world church.  This is happening also in Australia, and in some regions of the USA.

Some of us are impressed by the way the North American Division is falling into the same snare warned of by E. G. White, a trap set in Rome.  Many leaders are being dragged there by the new Wokeist religion, which turns the attention of the people to a political and social struggle agenda that will not prepare the people to live in heaven, but to hate those whom they oppose.  They neglect so many warnings of the apostles.  One of them says: “the weapons of our warfare are not carnal” (2 Cor 10:4).  We were called rather to exalt the Lord as the only hope for salvation.

Jesus said: “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” “Come to me,” not to wokeism, not to social warfare.

“Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light” (Matt 11:28-30).

The end is coming.  Let us prepare to meet the Lord for a better world.

He is the King, not the pope, not Mao, not Stalin, not “woke” advocates, or anyone else.

Our King called us to be fishers who call the people to come out of Babylon, not as political, social and religious agents to fix the problems of Babylon.  We call the people to come to Jesus for freedom from sin, and to dream of a better world in God’s kingdom.
