In 1994, the SDA church released ‘The Clear Word Bible’. First printed by the press at Southern Adventist University, it is now published by their main publishing house (The Review and Herald Publishing Association).
Due to criticism over the liberal application of the SDA interpretation of scripture, this book is now simply called ‘The Clear Word’. The edition in my possession denies that it is a new translation but calls it an ‘interpretive paraphrase’. Other Clear Word editions have used different words to describe it as well.
SDA leaders have made clarifying statements concerning the viewpoint presented in ‘The Clear Word’ as well.
