Dear Macmom70, grief can become a terrible thing to bear if not given completely to the Lord. I lost a son and know the terrible gut wrenching hurt that will not go away. At first you're just numb, the planning and going through the funeral, the tiredness, and the weeping all keep you from thinking of all the moments you've lost.
Most will find times of blaming God for their loss, or of prayers they perceive as unanswered when we needed Him so badly. We fail to see any good in God at all in our suffering, so we cry out and see no relief. What normally causes this? An enemy that knows our weakness better than we do.
What is a remedy? Faith is the victory overcomes all obstacles we face. Faith is realizing that you have not lost your daughter; she has just moved to the place we should all want to be. Many families have children presently living in other states and yet they remain a family.
Dear sister, I do not mean to run this into a book size post, but I cannot help but tell you a bit of Job. He lost ten children. God blessed that man later with ten more. Job 42:10 tells us that God blessed Job with twice as much as he had before, and so when he before had a certain amount of livestock taken away, it was now doubled. But we do not read of Job now having twenty children to replace the ten he lost, and yet he really does now have twenty children. Ten are in heaven and ten are with him. We do not lose those children in the Lord.
What can you do now? Get back into church, back into your Bible, back into a prayer life for others suffering as you have. Job 42:10 also says this: The Lord turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends. What was that captivity? The hurt and all that came with that.
When we see the Lord in the light of His glory and grace toward us we can be joyous in any circumstance. Job 42:5 says it this way describing that newfound faith in God. "I have heard of thee by the hearing of the ear: but now mine eye seeth thee." God even knows the hairs on our head and how He longs to comfort us. Go to Him today in His throne of grace to obtain the mercy and grace you need in this, your desperate time of need and believe Him to do that which you ask. Do not allow Satan to tear your family apart.
Faith? It comes by taking in the word of God. Now faith can be encouraged by signs, miracles, good happenings and the like, but faith will give you the wherewithal to go on through the storms of your life and again that comes by the word of God; take time daily to put that word into your hearts. Your attitude will suddenly change, you husband will respond in kind; you will have robbed Satan of another marriage destroyed.
Dear Father, please come in with healing for this dear woman and her family. Surely You will deliver her from the snare of the fowler and put them on a path of deliverance from all that they face. Thank You Father for Your great love of us in Jesus' name. Amen.
