1st Olympic Gold Goes to the Czech Republic
« on: August 09, 2008, 01:47:05 AM »
Hello everyone who follows 2008 Beijing Olympics,

Are you excited about the summer Olympics as much as I am?
I just wanted to brag a little and let you all know, that 1st gold medal goes to the shooter Katerina Emmons of the Czech Republic. ::disco::

I'm really proud that my countrywoman was able to harvest gold that soon.

I also hope that the United States wins the most medals since I live here and my wife is an American.
I think that Chinese athletes will be a strong rival to the USA because they are very disciplined by nature and during this time they are extremely motivated by pride since they are hosting the games.
The Russians and Canada will be closely behind them in my opinion. ::pondering::

What do you think?

I don't plan on watching much of the Olympics.  I think America should have pulled ourselves from the Olympics this year in protest of the human rights violations in China and the "only one child" law that forces women to receive an abortion.
He was despised and forsaken of men, a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief; like one from whom men hide their face; He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.  Surely our griefs He Himself bore, and our sorrows He carried; yet we ourselves esteemed Him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.  But He was pierced through for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; the chastening for our well-being fell upon Him, and by His scourging we are healed.

I sympathize Spurly, but Olympic boycots only hurt OUR athletes that have devoted their entire lives to this moment in time.

I am hopeful that the worldwide coverage will expose the dark sides of China's society and help the people finally rid themselve of the communits. Maybe after they succeed, they can help us get rid of ours before they get too much power................like before November!

Did ya'll see the opening ceremonies last night? In the immortal words of Gomer Pyle........Shezamm!

It was an awesome show, but it was kinda eerie with all the absolutely perfect precision of so many people in the different presentation. My mind was boggled with the 2000 or so tai chi dancers that never, I mean never stepped out of line in their making of concentric circles on the field.

If those folks get their poop together, they are going to leave us in the dust, and I'm not talking athletics.

Nope, I didn't see it.  For my reasons see my post above.

I am boycotting also, but not because of any political or religious agenda, but because I don't care for the Olympics, as I am too busy watching the Water Boiling Channel or the Watch Paint Dry channel.
