Who will win the BCS National Championship Game, Auburn or Oregon?

Auburn might have the greatest player in college football, maybe even in college football history along with SEC size, strength and speed throughout the team. But Oregon has an offense that works together and puts up a lot of points.

Vote on who you think will win.

I am rooting for Oregon, but I took Auburn. The Bama game really showed how much poise Cam Newton has, to rally from 24-0 at Tuscaloosa and win is something very few teams if any have ever done. Final Score: Auburn 45 Oregon 31

Good score prediction. That's about what I'd guess. I think there will be a lot of scoring.

Who convinced you guys to drink the Cam Koolaid?

"...the greatest player in college football, maybe even in college football history "

Ridiculously overstated.  The kid quit Florida because, along with legal troubles, he had to be a back up to Tebow.  Now he's the greatest player ever?

Please get a grip on reality.

I never said he was the greatest ever, only that he showed a lot of poise in the Alabama game. I agree Cam has some baggage but give the guy credit he has played at a very high level through it all.

For all the talk about the SEC, they are only 3-4 in Bowl Games this year, they have 3 teams left to play in Bowl Games (Auburn, LSU and Kentucky). The PAC 10 is 2-1 with only Oregon left.

No because he can't "win" one.  He can win a game against a voted team, and then be voted a national champion.

A system created by the Power Conferences to advance the cause of the Power Conferences...

Problem is this was suppose to keep the TCU's, Utah's and Boise State's out of the picture then they had the nerve to be just as good as the big boys and ruin the big boys fun...

I wouldn't call it a conspiracy but let's be real, the BCS is a product of the 6 AQ Conferences getting together to try and create a "Title Game". At first  the title game was the Four Major Bowls on a rotating basis, then they decided to keep the 4 Major Bowls and officially add a Title Game. This was all created by the 6 AQ Conferences, the 5 Non AQ Conferences really didn't have a say nor did the AQ Conferences care what the Non AQ conferences thought..

So I wouldn't call it a conspiracy but definitely a system that was about big money for the AQ Conferences and made sure the AQ Conferences got the Title Game shout, I will grant you Auburn had the toughest road going through the SEC but lets look at Oregon who had a cupcake non conference schedule (notice non AQ Boise St wasn't on the schedule this year after losing to them in 08 and 09) and played in the mediocre Pac 10, which only sent 4 teams to Bowl games and were 2-2 in those games.  Meanwhile The MWC sent 5 teams to Bowl games and they were 4-1 in those games.

The fact that Oregon got the Title Game nod over TCU comes down to the fact that they are in an AQ Conference while TCU is not. The MWC is even with the Pac 10 and the ACC in my Opinion and certainly better than the Big "L"East in football.

Lets look at UConn, granted they gave 100% vs Oklahoma but had no business being in that BCS game in the first place, the spot should have gone to Boise St who was ranked 10th. But because the Big East is AQ they get the automatic spot while leaving a much better Boise St team to play Utah in a minor bowl game.

Now Utah and TCU are running to AQ Conferences, tell me why would they do that if the "system" was so fair. The BCS is creating a nightmare where we are one step away from having Super Conferences with 16 teams which will be filled by the likes of Utah and TCU's so they can have a chance at a National Title.

Your delusional if you think the BCS was created to give everyone a shot at the National Title, it was meant to give only AQ schools a shot at the National Title, which is why Oregon got the nod over TCU, because the conference they played in was the Pac 10 which wasn't any better than the MWC. Ask yourself this question, If Oregon played TCU who would you take, smart money is on TCU...

Actually, they don't. I can understand how being an SEC fan might give you that idea, though.  ::whistle::

Speaking as an Auburn fan, I'm tickled with the outcome, but I have a lot of empathy for Rick6886. Auburn was in the same spot as TCU in 2004 and still didn't get a shot. They went 14-0, and ended up number 2 behind USC.

I will disagree with Rick6886 on one point though. As I mentioned, AU has been in the same spot as TCU as well as other AQ teams who have gone undefeated only to watch someone else get a shot at the title, so just being AQ would not guarantee that TCU would have gotten a shot.

It's also tough to see your team leapfrogged in the rankings when you're winning all your games, so again I empathize with Rick, but on the other hand until you prove yourself in a conference or with a tough schedule then you'll continue to take a back seat to those who do.

The only solution is a playoff. I'm not holding my breath for that, but I'd sure like to see it happen before I go toes up.

Good luck TCU, but not too much. I like the SEC being there every year.

I have said all along the SEC is brutal, Auburn earned that spot in the Title Game...

Oregon however played in a very mediocre Pac 10 which sent only 4 teams to Bowl Games, meanwhile the MWC sent 5 teams to Bowl Games. The fact Oregon got the nod over TCU comes down to the fact they were in an AQ conference while TCU was not.

I would have love to seen Oregon vs TCU, I think TCU matches up very well with them. They see the wild spread offense Oregon runs quite a bit in the MWC (teams like Utah and BYU).

I think we all agree that a playoffs would settle all of this once and for all...
