We all know what a disastrous season Michigan had last year, and we've all heard about their resolve to get back into the thick of things this year.  They open against Western Michigan, telecast by ABC, and I'd say this will be "exam" day.  If they are to have a viable campaign this year, they must come out of the chute with a blow-out win over Western.  A close score will be a bad omen, and a loss would signal a total disaster this year.  In that event, I'd say Rich Rodriguez's days at Michigan are numbered, since it's a pretty sure bet the "M" Alumni Association will have ZERO TOLERANCE for anuything even close to a repeat of last year.

I agree with most of that, but just because they do win big (if they do win big) they would still have a LOT to prove.

I will be rooting for the Broncos, and I will do Balki's dance of joy if they pull it off.

Don't stake your life on it.  After all, Michigan's got to be at list slightly better than last year.  As for the "exam", I didn't mean to imply that a blow-out would guarantee Michigan a great season, but rather that failure to produce a blow-out will indicate a very difficult season for the Wolverines.  However, should they blow out the broncos and then win by at lest two touchdowns the next week over the Irish, and then absolutely annihilate the Eastern Michigan "Hurons-orgasm-Eagles", I would then be looking for a successful, competitive seson.
