Marc ,

That is still assuming that LSU will get there.  We still have Arkansas to play which is a difficult game for us, and then the SEC championship, Probably Georgia because I don't think that Tennessee will beat Kentucky.  Noshawn Morenio is an impressive back, and may be more difficult to stop than McFaddin. Not a better back just a little more difficult to stop.

Yes, I think a WVU/Ohio State championship matchup is a real possibility.  I'd rather see LSU because I think the SEC is the best conference in the country, so that matchup would mean more.

I don't think Kentucky will beat Tennessee, though.  I think they're out of steam.

I believe a WVU/OSU matchcup is a real possiblity, also.  I'd rather see LSU because I think they're an easeir matchup for Ohio State than WVU would be and if people think that's the best conference, then that's even better.

Cross,

Please explain how LSU would be an easier match up than WVU?

The way LSU has won games this year is very similar to Florida's last year and I still remember what happened in January. Have you forgotten that quickly?

Ohio struggled to score points last year and with all of your offensive firepower gone from last year it wouldn't be pretty. I'm not saying that Ohio doesn't have scorers this year but they are not as good as last year.

You're right ... I got some 'splainin' to do!  I guess initially I was just thinking about the WVU QB and how he runs their offense.  Arguably the most feared running QB in the nation.  He works from the shotgun and the spread and is exactly the type of guy the Bucks have problems with the most.  I was thinking of him in regards to Juice Williams (Illinois) and how much trouble a guy like that caused a couple of weeks ago.

I didn't think that same way about the LSU QB.  They seem to run a different offense than does WVU.  That threat just doesn't seem to be quite the same and I'm saying the matchups would be better agains the Tigers.

HOWEVER, I didn't think at all about the defenses and there is no doubt in my mind that OSU would fare much better against the 'neers instead of Dorsey and Co.  The Bucks offense isn't as dangerous as last year, more of a power game with the occasional long ball thrown in.  They would do well against WVU but probably not so good against LSU.  So, I guess I'm not so convinced as I thought earlier.

And believe me, there is nobody in Ohio that has forgotten the beating of January 2007.  Crying and sad.

I think that Ohio will be dangerous next year if there young Linebackers step up. It doesn't look good fro the next coach at Michigan regardless of who he will be.

Interesting.  It's rare that a MAC team competes with the big boys.

(I'm sorry; I cant help it.  And Athens, Ohio (where Ohio U is) isn't that far from me--they get local sports coverage, even.)

oops, I've wandered into the sports bar!
just killing time on a "friday".

let me pull a quote from this string --
I'd rather see LSU because I think they're an easeir matchup for Ohio State than WVU would be and if people think that's the best conference, then that's even better.

you know, I love football; but am not a statistician.
This BCS schedule toughness thing - has anyone seen the "ratings" for team toughness?

and, USC the wannabe three-peat, come on now.  They tie one year, "win" one year, and then lose.  I will never forget the QB Matt Leinart walking off the field after Texas showed them how it is done, and still commenting to the reporter, "we are still the best..."  agh!

yes, I am an arrogant SEC fan.  count the national championships.  listen to the commentators on college football day, as ignorant as they are, and they will tout the SEC.  The SEC ends up beating up itself every year, and the other teams dance in and take the leftovers.  People want to forget the truth on the 1966 ND championship.  (That should have been a three-peat!)

here is an interesting website!  http://www.notredamesucks.org/mnc.html

enough.  I just hope they do not fire Saban!  He better beat Auburn.  Saturday will tell.

God bless us all.  In heaven we will all be champions!

let the crimsom tide flow down from the Cross on us all. (that's not about Tuscaloosa, by the way)

all the rest is just to stir up some mess!  have a great holiday!

geaux bayou bengals!

If nothing else, the location of the BCS championship will make LSU a tough opponent.

The last time we won we won on the same field and we beat Georgia in the SEC Championship game, Now if we could only play Oklahoma again.  Where is Jason White anyway?

It definitely will not be LSU in the National Championship.  Ohio State will be at least #3 in the BCS standings after this weekend is over.  They could be #2.

I can't get excited about the BCS because I am so glad A & M beat Texas I can't stand it. I am hoping Oklahoma State beats OU tomorrow. That will leave OK State to beat Missouri or Kansas in the Big 12 Championship, further complicating the BCS.

I've been Christmas shopping all day and am only now hearing this.  Looks like WVU gets an early Christmas present.  Now all they have to do is take care of Yukon and Pit.

Took care of business today (66-21).  See who wins tonight and how the winner fares against Oklahoma.

Then beat Pitt next week.

I predict a WVU-Ohio State championship game.

Rah Rah Bully for Ol Mizzou!

Posted in honor of the one Mizzou grad I know.

I've got tickets for the BCS Championship (I know people) and was dreading the specter of LSU-Kansas but Mizzou vs. West Virgina could be entertaining albeit a TV ratings disaster.

The ugly game will be the one Hawaii goes to if they get past Washington. Something about a team that has two I-AA wins and has only beaten two teams with winning records just doesn't say BCS caliber to me, and I was one of those arguing that Boise's credentials were legit last year.
