There is some truth in that statement, and especially for State.  A loss to Michigan would leave the Spartans at 1-4, and very much in danger of winding up with a losing season.  On the other hand, a loss by the Wolverines would assuredly knock them out of the top 25, at least, temporarily; however, they would still haave a pretty decent-looking record at 4-1.  From that a team might well recover, especially if the Wolverines were to run the table from that point on and break their losing string to the Buckeyes.

Michigan really should win this one, but I'm not betting one red cent on any team in any sport at any time!

Gary, you'd better celebrate this year like there'll never be another one, 'cause next year Forcier will be more mature, and the Wolverine defense will be improved through good recruiting; therefore, your beloved Spartans are going to be buried alive at the Big House, then it'll be my turn to celebrate!

Looks like my pre-season pick of 5-7 for Michigan will become reality with the loss to Purdue.  First home loss to Purdue since the 60's.   First back to back losses to MSU since the early 60's.  Worst record ever (3-9).  Followed up with a probable 5-7.  Great.  At this rate, I hope Rich Rod stays there forever.

I can't believe how bad the Big Ten is in Football in general anymore. They are only going to get one BCS bid and put their best team up against any of the other BCS confrences best teams and they would get smoked. Could you see Iowa versus Florida or Alabama, Iowa versus Texas, Iowa versus Georgia Tech, Oregon or even TCU. The Big Ten ain't looking forward to any BCS matchups with Iowa in there should Iowa get past Ohio State next week.

I think the Big Ten teams could hang with the other conferences.  The ACC is the worst conference by far this year.  They lost to multiple FCS teams.

Too bad we won't get to find that out ont he football field since the Big Ten Champ will be taking on Oregon in the Rose Bowl. Oregon will be a big favorite in this game as would Georgia Tech or Miami would have been.

Your 2 cents and 98 real cents would get ya 98 cents.  The ACC is the worst conference this year with the losses to FCS schools and what not.

After the travesty that was Ohio St and Iowa yesterday the ACC has nothing to worry about...

This just in: They got Jim Tressel and Kirk LaFrenz talking to each other on the coach mikes during the 4th Quarter and Overtime of yesterday's Iowa/Ohio state "game". Here is the transcript:

Tressel: Hey Kirk its 24-24, I tell you what we are going to let you have this one, so instead of aggressive offense we are going to run the ball and punt it to you.
LaFrenz: We don't want to win either so I m going to have my QB take a knee and you can win in OT.
Tressel: Look I have lost 3 straight BCS Bowl games, its time someone else went
LaFrenz: Man I couldn't even beat Northwestern, do you really think my kids have any chance against Oregon
Tressel: I couldn't even beat the 5th best team in the PAC Ten (USC) on my home field, what do you think will happen if I go out West...
LaFrenz: I ain't going out west, this is your problem not mine
Treseel: Kirk, c'mon take one for the conference baby...OH NO we just kicked a FG... I guess we will be getting killed in another BCS Bowl game!!!
LaFrenz: Thanks Jim, I knew I could count on you!!!

The good news is the Big Ten will only have one BCS team that gets rolled in a BCS bowl since Ohio State will be its lone representative...
