Competition is not Christian and I don't get involved with it.

So you're competing against your pain?

Competition is not Christian? Really? What passage is that? You are speaking where the Bible does not. Competition, like many things, can be abused by people. But if my dad and I go play golf together, I want to win. One of the things that's fun about it is that even though he's 21 years older than me, he can still compete with me in golf. While we're playing we have nothing but love for each other and when it's over sometimes the "loser" will buy the "winner" a Sprite or something and we joke with each other about it.

If you're calling that a sin, you are truly speaking where the Bible hasn't and being just plain silly.

It's evident you're a better man than me; I continually have to challenge myself to do better thus making it the ultimate competition.

My wife and I play golf together and she insists on NOT keeping score. It's a good thing too because she would probably beat me.

Seriously though the assertion that sports competition is unbiblical or even sinful is absurd to the max..................wel l almost to the max. Declaring something absurd to the max would be unfair to the plethora of absurd assertions on here everyday, which would imply a competition, which would be sinful, which would be absurd.......

"Letting" someone else win (except for small children sometimes) is the worst thing you can do. It is a sin against them as you are not encouraging them to do their best and you are teaching them to be lazy sluggards.

We are to spur each other on to good works. That is, compete with each other (and ourselves)  to be best at everything we do.

Does it teach you to place another person goals ahead of you're own ?

That is what Christianity teaches.

At What ?

Beating the other guy(s).....so you win, and they lose ?

Working well with other means to help them acheive their goals.....as in 'loving your enemies', which means not trying to beat them, but help them.

Again....sports, violates God's rules of conduct, which states that a Christian is to place another person good, ahead of your own, no matter what the price.
