It all comes down to a one-game playoff between the staggering Detroit Tigers and the steam-rollering Minnesota Twins at 5:00 p.m. in the Metro Dome, this Tuesday.  The game is really just a formality, since no team, no matter how talented, will ever beat the Twins at the Metro Dome in a one-game playoff.  The twins can (I'm told), and if so, probably will, manipulate the airflow in the dome to their advantage.  Thus, we could really despense with the playoff formality and send the Twins on to the real playoffs for the pennant.  On further thought, however, it really doesn't matter anyway, since the New York Yankees are already as good as in the World Series.
