Should I be worried about this?
« on: Fri Jul 01, 2016 - 10:16:20 »
Lately, I've been building some Gundam models. for those of you who don't know what these are, they're giant armored suits used in war (with the exception of the build fighters series, which uses the models themselves for simulated battles) and I recently figured out that in Japan, one of the suits was named 'devil Gundam' now, the suit was an antagonist, and it's name was changed to 'Dark Gundam' as not to offend western viewers. there was also another suit that had 'hell' in the name, and that was not changed in the west (not for the models, at least) and devil gundam also remained unchanged in the models, I think.

I'm really sorry about having the post this long, would it be sinful to still build the models?

I would say no. It's a model of a fictional character. Why get paranoid over that? Enjoy your hobby, man. :D

Go out in town and look at people dressed in casual clothing.   Many are dressed in camouflage type clothing.  This is a direct reference to combat soldier uniforms.

Is it sinful to want to dress like a soldier?   How about dressing like a member of the Deutsche Wehrmacht (Nazi German army)?  How about wearing that German uniform to a Jewish Bar Mitzvah (coming of age ceremony)?   How about wearing the uniform of an American Seal complete with firearms as you march into the local High School?

In this age when Americans embrace all sorts of sexual perversity it's definitely illegal to wear a soldier's uniform anywhere except the privacy of your own home, but keep the Facebook camera shut off when you do it.  Privacy isn't privacy any more.   But is it a sin?

The Ten Commandments defines what sin is.   Is wearing a soldiers' uniform listed there?   I don't see it, do you?

Therefore it's perfectly acceptable to wear the uniform of the German SS during a church worship service - as long as you leave a hefty donation in the basket when they pass it around and as long as you leave your firearm in the car for one of the kids to steal (they really aren't attending Bible study, you know)

that's me, hollering from the choir loft...
