Reality TV. What's your choice?
« on: Thu Jun 06, 2019 - 13:47:07 »
Hey are any of you into reality tv programs? As of late or at least recent years I would like to see what reality shows members here follow or had followed. Why or why or why not they like or  dislike any of the tv reality shows?
I will put a list of some of the reality shows. But if you know of  any others, you can also put them as your option. . I'll try to cover what I can remember. You can say anything at all about the shows whatever your opinions  are. .  Ok here is the list. Then select which ones you want to talk about . . only choose the ones you want to talk about.

America's Got Talent
Dancing with the Star
The Voice
American Idol
So You Think You Can Dance
The Biggest Loser
Hell's Kitchen
Pawn Stars
America's Next Top Model
Survivor
The Bachelor and Bachelorette
The Amazing Race
Top Chef
Project Runway
The Real World
Big Brother
Wipeout

Hi there! I don't have cable/satellite, and watch little tv, but I do have a subscription to Hulu. I watch shows that have to do with home improvement, such as Fixer Upper, Flip or Flop, House Hunters, Beach Hunters, Insane Pools: Off the Deep End, etc. If it has to do with buying a home, fixing up a home, decor, lawn & garden, I'm there.
When I do watch regular tv, I usually watch channels such as MeTV, Antenna TV, etc, that air older series such as Andy Griffith, Brady Bunch, Hazel, Perry Mason, various old westerns, etc. I couldn't tell you what shows are popular on the major network's lineup right now. Haven't a clue.

The Bachelor and Bachelorette should change names with the Biggest Loser!

If there is someone with mind blowing or shocking talent, the clip will go viral on youtube and end up on facebooks and twitters and the people that don't watch this crap will get the same payoff with only 5 minutes of time as the people that watch the shows religiously.

I don't think I've ever watched a single episode of any of the shows listed in this thread so far.  Certainly not by my own choice.

I enjoy "Expedition Unknown" and its predecessor "Destination Truth."  Josh Gates is a riot.

Sometimes I'll watch "Dr. Jeff, Rocky Mountain Vet," "The Zoo," or "The Vet Life."

We also have antenna TV also. But I bought my fiancee a big screen TV with a smart antenna.
Believe it or not this antenna works better then the cable TV. This brand of TV I never heard of is called VGA. I bought it at WalMart. I recommend this TV.

We can't stand the Bachelor or Bachelorette.

The ones we watch are America's Got Talent (even there's too many singers) Dancing With The Stars, She watches The Voice (I don't anymore) American Idol (even though the wrong contestant won) So You Think You Can Dance (even though it's a shorter format now) I forgot she also watches American Ninja Warrior.

There are 3 that aren't on anymore that we also used to watch America's Greatest Band, The Next Best Thing impersonators of celebrities. Frank Sinatra won but clearly should have Lucille Ball and The Sing Off (colleges singing acapella with their bodies as instruments.) If you ever heard of the group Pentatonix then you should know they one the show the year they competed.

Same here, also, Foxs News, (not as much as I used to do) living off the grid, nat geo, Investigation Discovery, and ESPN (I am a man, got to have it). I have everything that cable gives at my house and at my shop. Oh, I DO watch the Price is right with Miss Sherry at lunch. I watch NO Movies, sitcoms, or talk show, etc. Oh, I watch SBN keep up with what others believe and teach.

I like most home improvement shows, the odd cooking show, sports, and some series like The Good Doctor, Heartland, This is Us. We don't have cable either, haven't had it for 10 years. We mostly rely on Android and it's shady subcultures for pretty much anything we want. That said, we watch much more TV in the winter, when it's nice out we're out and about almost every chance we can get. There are 51 waterfalls here and we've seen 3 so far this year. Our goal is to see every one of them before the winter sets back in.

Post pics if you do!

Several years ago, I picked up a fascinating book at the library and I think the title was "Waterfalls of Oklahoma." It was an exhaustive reference book of waterfalls in my state, plus maps/directions, and even contact information if having to access private property to see them. I cannot find that book in the library's system now. Should've done it when I had it.  ::frown::

Quick Google search provided https://www.thecrazytourist.com/15-amazing-waterfalls-in-oklahoma/ You'd need to do some further searching on the locations of each of these, sounds like the book you had was a much better tool.

after I graduated high school, I worked at a state park.

Here is a pic of one of the 5 small falls around an island in the river:

Is that iron in the water? Years ago when we lived in Manitoba we had a beautiful cottage that had a small waterfall at the end of the small lake we were on. They called it coca-cola falls as that is what it looked like when the iron rich water was churned up under the falls.

No, it is tannins from cedar trees.

It's amazing how many channels I can get with a digital antenna.

I get 180 or so stations on cable and can’t find a thing worth watching.

Being farther away from big cities, I get two or three depending on how high i put it.   And not reliably.

I don't pay for cable, I am used to watching what I want when I want.

Every time I've gone back to satellite I think the same thing.

Every time I've gone back to satellite I think the same thing.

I dvr several series reruns.

House

Blue Bloods

Murder She Wrote

Columbo

Reason being is that there are entire seasons that were never televised here and I am able to watch those anew.

I watch nothing new except for AGT. I could not tell you what is being shown on prime time as my mind is in the older shows. We are in the MeTv / Cozy TV generation mindset. And happy to be living here. And suppliment with Fox or Newsmax.

I find the most filthy tv you can watch is 24 hour news like Fox News, or CNN.

Nothing but lies, conjecture, etc.

I watch tons of TV.

Mostly Fox News, Comet TV, SyFy, and any channel that happens to be showing a sci-fi, fantasy, or superhero show.  And "Father Brown" when I'm visiting a lady friend; it's about the only show we can agree on, until and unless another little season of "Sherlock" is produced.
