Who are the 144,000 that will return with Jesus, that will be singing???
The bible says that they will not have know women, so they will obviously all be men, so who are they??  Are they extreamly faithful religious men???

I'm not the most brainiest person when it comes to the bible I'm afraid, sorry!!!!

So they are prophets then???

I was just randomly thinking about when Jesus returns and then the question popped in to my head!!!

When Jesus returns, will we all know instantly its HIM?
I'm a big worrier, which I know is silly and that I can give my worries to The Lord, I'm just curious!!

Thank you for the thread.

It put me in mind of the Jews. They were so busy looking at the wrapper, they forgot the sweet inside!!!
I mean, they were so busy looking for the messiah that they didn't see him!!!!!

Kind of answered my own question then maybe???   Maybe it's not who the 144,000 are that's important, but rather who is coming with them!!!!!!??

Jesus does come with the 144,000----AFTER they have completed what they were anointed to do. They will be raised up as witnesses of the Messiah to their own people, the Jews, during the days of Tribulation. They will be successful and will receive great reward.

144   The Spirit guided life

1000   Divine completeness and Father's glory

144 x 1000 = 144 000

These are ALL the Sanctified and Sealed Christians who have been redeemed (justified) by the BLOOD of the LAMB of GOD

They are born again in Spirit Christians who have led a Holy Spirit guided life and in their life time have gained Devine completeness (sanctified) in Christ according to Christ's beatitudes and awarded Father's glory by being SEALED in The Lord.

They encompass the millennium reign of Christ since He opened the tombs and ascended up into heaven into His Kingdom New Jerusalem taking with Him these sanctified saints right up to the End of Age.

Revelation 7:4 (KJV)
4 And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel.

These are SEALED by the Living SEAL, God the Holy Spirit and after these symbolic tribes of Israel are mentioned then the result of this role call so to speak was then seen in Heaven:

Revelation 7:9-10 (KJV)
9 After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands; 10 And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb.

After the role call of the 12 symbolic tribes of Israel consisting of ALL SEALED Christians (OLD and NEW Testament Saints), we then see the picture being blown up and LO a GREAT multitude that no man could number from amongst all nations stand as the sealed 144,000 before the lamb who redeemed them.

Trouble with many eschatological views is they seem to time stamp prophecy to a time, space in motion. Whether they be Preterists, Futurists or Historicists all seem to try and model prophecy on a specific event in time and history and therefore break the golden rule.

Matthew 24:35 (NIV)
Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.

When a prophecy is connected to the Word of God it is true from the start to the finish of this world and so the saying goes history repeats itself because God said so. Revelation is a repeating prophecy that encompasses the beginning to the climactic ending.

Revelation 1:8 (KJV)
I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.

The Word is the beginning and the ending for the Lord's Word is a repeating prophesy that is being fulfilled repeatedly throughout the physical time, space and motion.

Revelation is not based on a history lesson or a single event and this is where all eschatological views are right in minute details and completely wrong in the overall interpretation.

What matters is the overall interpretation of Revelation as a whole and not a minute time stamped event that Preterists, Futurists and Historicist contemplate.
