666 doesn't bother me.  I have a funny story - I work for a utility company and one of our customers was assigned the customer number of 666.  She called and asked us to change her customer number.  When we did not change it, her mother, father and lawyer all called and finally she was assigned a new customer number.  The person who currently has the 666 customer number, hasn't complained.   :lookaround:

Hmmm. . . think about it.

Number of letters in George -- 6
Number of letters in Walker -- 6
Number of letters in Bush --    4

okay, you say, this breaks down here.  But WAIT!   What possible addition to Bush's name is he careful never to use?  Junior, of course.  Could there be a reason for this?

Think about it.

George -- 6
Walker -- 6
Bush, Jr --6

I think we can all see the truth clearly now. :alert:

It used to bother me.  Once I bought $6.66 worth of stuff at the store then added gum to take care of that.  I still notice it but there is a whole lot more to it than just something coming out 666.

I understand the humor and absurdity of the trying to pinpoint the antichrist, however, being the historically obsessive person that I am:  George Walker Bush is not a junior as his father's name is George Herbert Walker Bush.  One of my media pet peeves.  Whew!  Now I feel better.

A Christian college in KY is currently working to get their phone number changed.  Seems the number they were assigned has 666 in it.  I don't know the name of the college.  I heard about it on NPR (I think).

Ah, but you see, that is the beauty of a good, sound conspiracy theory.  It is always built upon a correct-sounding-but-not-quite-true logical fallicy.  Or, as we say in my trade, Illud Latine dici non potest

My professional opinion is that the person who originally posted this theory concerning the president bears careful watching.  It may even be wise if the government places him on some sort of an official wacky-person-who-should-be-locked-up-if-we-could-only-find-an-excuse list.  He is delusional and dangerous.  I repeat dangerous.  Be careful. If he makes any sudden moves, watch out!  And above all, NOLI PERTURBARE

At high school (A christian boarding school) the song number 666 was Rise Up Lazarus, and it was one of the most popular requests.  I was never sure it if was the number that most people liked or the great bass line in the chorus.

I notice the numbers when the come up, and sometimes make comments which are usually lost on people (the perfect sale = $7.77)

the 666 doesn't bother me.
it comes from the revelation coded description of one of the caesars (nero is usually accused of embodying the anti-christ sentiment).  many folks feel otherwise, though.  you'll probably get a variety of answers here.

I'm always tickled to look up whatever hymn has been assigned #666 in various churches' songbooks.  Sometimes Mike & I will snicker over it.  People think we're just happy to be there, or maybe we're happy to be together or something... when we're really amused by the possibilities of the song.
