Its a shame though that for some people all of the inspired scripture in the bible can do nothing to penetrate the years of man made tradition that have influenced their beliefs.

To indulge your query on a serious level, I would simply tell you this

Be careful not to blaspheme or jest about such matters

I can tell you for a fact God didn't tell you to ask me, because if He did, He would have already prepared me to do so and I would.

Case in point: Recently I needed $2500, had no one to turn to but one person. I had every reason in the world to believe I shouldn't ask this person knowing that they would probably say no....yet I couldn't get over the knowing I had within that I should ask them anyway

Long story short, despite what my rational logical mind was saying,  in my heart I continued to  believe I was being led and prompted to ask this person, therefore I did and lo and behold to my amazement without much effort at all, by the grace of God this person gave me a cashier's cheque for $2500  

That's just one example.... I have plenty. Let me know if you want me to share more, it might help you build up your faith....seriously!

God is the provider of all my needs according to His Riches in Glory by Christ Jesus!!

James cited one reason people don't have as follows

When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures. James 4:3

God gives wealth for one reason and one reason only to establish His Covenant

But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day.
 Deuteronomy 8:18

If you are not helping to establish His covenant you have no scriptural basis for asking for His blessings other than your good looks and fleshly desires...no matter how noble

But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Matthew 6:33

When you put seeking His Kingdom and HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS as your top priority and helping others to hear His Gospel, God will bless and enable you.

I hear you Larry2 as not to talk about my own giving, I have a friend that has a gift for giving, I mean this guy is just making it himself. He has 5 ( count em ) 5 children

Yet when he has a great need, God puts it on his heart to bless someone or some ministry and I tell you in all truth, God always blesses Him big time to meet His needs.

God has never failed Him...I'm tellin ya its a gift, he hears thew Lord. Its confirmed because God never fails in meeting His needs in some miraculous way or another!

Though I'm not a "gifted" giver as he is, I really admire that gift in his life.
