Does Christianity need to reform?
« on: Wed Aug 10, 2022 - 15:17:57 »
I keep hearing that churches are downsizing and closing. Yes there are new initiatives such as He Gets Us, but do we need more? What is the basic problem that keeps people from becoming followers of Jesus?

What is the basic problem that keeps people from becoming followers of Jesus?
The existing "followers" behaving badly and/or insisting on archaic/disprovable statements of dogma.

I should not waste my time answering your post~ but will say these few words: it is not the truth you are after, besides, you despise truth, based on every post you have ever made. I went back just a few minutes ago to read everything you have ever posted and it revealed to me your desire for the truth as it is in Jesus Christ, which is zero.

What is the basic problem that keeps people from becoming followers of Jesus?
Their blinded hearts, and hatred for the truth. They are in love with their own wisdom and do not believe there's any above them that is wiser........ their god is humanism, and a love for this world and all it has to offer them keeps them in the midst of the darkness of where they live with their father, the devil himself.

So, are you on the outside looking in? Actually, the church which was a mustard seed in its beginning has NOW grown into the largest of the trees, where the "birds of the air" have come and are NOW lodging in her branches!
Quote
Matthew 13:31,32~"Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is like to a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and sowed in his field: Which indeed is the least of all seeds: but when it is grown, it is the greatest among herbs, and becometh a tree, so that the birds of the air come and lodge in the branches thereof.
This HERB turned into a TREE! That's what we see happening in the professing kingdom of God. Doors are not being closed they (professing churches) are taking over closed shopping centers, theaters, supermarkets, you name they claim it! Mostly done by Pentecostals, word of faith movement, and such like...., true saints are leaving the churches of Judea, and are fleeing to the mountains since they SEE the abomination sitting where it ought not to sit!

Of course, this is speaking in tongues to folks like you, and many others as well.

Well, I guess I did said more than I first wanted to say.

jd01:

If time permits, sometime tomorrow I'd like to comment on whether or not modern-day Christianity needs to be reformed, in answer to your initial question.

We have the same problems the early church had because the main problem is people, us.

Some focus on outward things like buildings and names instead of people following God's Word.
