Boring afternoon Barry and just looking to stir something in the pot?

Barry, I do not defend my God. You see to require a defense would mean that He might suffer harm by your actions. This is not possible, so my defense of my God, (What a laughable concept, Me defend Him!!), is not required.

Barry, why must it always be a fight with you? Must you always attack?

The question does stand Barry, Why does love frighten you so much?

I know you will respond with a witty quip and sarcasm, but I pray if I ask the question often enough, someday you just might consider it. And when you do Barry, He remains with outspread arms to welcome His prodigal back home.

Now get back to work before the boss catches you surfing the web again and discharges you!

Hope it's okay to jump in here to make a quick point. (Will try to be quick anyway.) The devil/hell thread nonwithstanding, I'm not fond of debate and not very good at it.  I believe in God, to me it makes sense, but it's a matter of faith primarily, and I don't know how to "prove" a matter of faith to anyone. So basically, I don't want to get into that. What I want to say here is that I don't think we Christians have an exclusive claim to love, and I don't think athiests, as a rule, fear love.  I think the ability to love is inherent to mankind, and that fearing it or embracing it depends on the individual and not any particular belief system. Now as a Christian, I think this is placed in us by our Creator, but I also don't think God takes that away from us when we don't believe in Him. So personally I don't have any problem with believing that B.H. can love people and basically be a "good person" just like there are people who claim belief in God who hate and aren't exactly what most of us would call "good".
OK, so I just wanted to say that! So I have! And maybe not very well, but there ya go ...

Shalom,
JesusHungTheMoon

Hey guys I have a friend out in the lala land of Islam named Hussein AbuBrojees.  Hussein is a Sunni Muslim from Iran doing Islamic missionary work in Venezuela. We have been discussing Allah and the Koran for sometime with very pitiful profit.

I brought up all the stuff about why I do not believe in the Christian God and Bible and how the same arguments used against the Bible/Christianity can be used against the Koran/Islam.

All Hussein said was that he and I do not speak the same language of faith and so cannot carry on a profitable discussion on the matter.  He then went on to ask me why I am afraid of Love and that the love shown in the Koran by Allah is all the proof necessary to prove Islam true to him.

GCM Booty, what would you say to Hussein AbuBrojees?
It sure seems to me that you are saying the same thing to defend your "god".

This is my day off Booty but thank you for your concern for my job.  I was unemployed from December 01 to April 02 and do not ever want to experience that again!

I was not trying to start a fight with you.  It is just I want you to see the fallacy in your argument.  I do not want you to hate me  nor am I trying to anger you and embarrass you.  I just want you to see where I am coming from.

I am not afraid of love and if anyone here on this board was hurt or injured you could count on me being the first to help them out if I could.

Speaking of being fired from work because of internet use, I see 19 people on the board right now.  Are all of you at work and doing something you should not be doing? Hmmmmmm.

Shhh, If you are don't worry because I doubt Booty will tell. I sure won't.

Booty, how is your argument any different from Hussein's argument?
