(Will try to be quick anyway.) The devil/hell thread nonwithstanding, I'm not fond of debate and not very good at it. I believe in God, to me it makes sense, but it's a matter of faith primarily, and I don't know how to "prove" a matter of faith to anyone. So basically, I don't want to get into that. What I want to say here is that I don't think we Christians have an exclusive claim to love, and I don't think athiests, as a rule, fear love. I think the ability to love is inherent to mankind, and that fearing it or embracing it depends on the individual and not any particular belief system. Now as a Christian, I think this is placed in us by our Creator, but I also don't think God takes that away from us when we don't believe in Him. So personally I don't have any problem with believing that B.H. can love people and basically be a "good person" just like there are people who claim belief in God who hate and aren't exactly what most of us would call "good".
OK, so I just wanted to say that! So I have! And maybe not very well, but there ya go ...
