I wouldn't recommend drinking the kind of alcohol normally used as an antiseptic.

Ah, a little alcohol in the form of a glass of Sangia before bed time!  My nightly habit just like HRoberson.  I like the cheap Sangria from Wal-Mart that sells for about $9.00 a gallon.

As for the question, I'll answer with a question:  Why would it be a sin?  Jesus drank wine daily, and then, of course, there's Paul who told Timothy to do the same thing to keep from becoming sick (medicinal useage of alcohol along with casual dinner drink!).  And what we don't normally tell anyone when pronouncing the evils of alcohol from our pulpits and classroom teaching chairs is that Paul was using this to help stop gnostic ideas that had crept into the church that said "drink only water".
