All I can say is that I so appreciate the Spirit, Truth and Love (that is Jesus) so evident in Max Lucado.

Also, I would like to add: :amen:  :amen:  :amen:

eliasdam - thank you for sharing this biblical perspective.

Ephesians 2:8-10  Who saves, how He saves, why He saves.

"8For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith–and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God– 9not by works, so that no one can boast. 10For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do."

Excellent article!  And very doctrinally sound.

It's really a good article.  I'll print that one out for my files at the house. To think of the amount of \"heat\" from other Christians Max has taken because of his Scriptural view of baptism is just mind boggling.  Pretty sad commentary for us

For the life of me, I can't imagine how anyone could find fault with anything--other than a couple of typos  :D--with this view of baptism!  But I'm learning that some can find fault with anything.

I might add a comment on the \"What of the ones who die before they have a chance\" thinkers because such an argument may reveal the same kind of heart problem \"I don't want to\" does.  Trying to both God's commands and God's Grace through such a spurious argument misses the point.

I found this article the other day.  In the wake of the discussion that the GCM article facilitated, I wanted to get the take of some of you guys on this one.  It's only 7 pages long, so let me know what you think.  Click here for Max's article  You'll need Adobe Acrobat Reader to view it.

Therefore, in the present case I advise you: Leave these men alone! Let them go! For if their purpose or activity is of human origin, it will fail.  But if it is from God, you will not be able to stop these men; you will only find yourselves fighting against God.

[!--QuoteBegin--][/span]

Quote

[!--QuoteEBegin--]Q: What of the ones who die before they have a chance (to be baptized)?  What if I entrust my soul to Christ and before I can tell anyone or arrange to be baptized, a swarm of killer bees attacks me and I die?

A: ...Would a God of love reject an honest heart?  No way.  Would a God of mercy and kindness condemn any seeking soul?  Absolutely not. ...would He cast you away because of a curious sequence of events?  Inconceivable.

Is is possible for an unbaptized believer to be saved?  Yes, definitely...
Here I would word it differently.  But then, I'm not making my living preaching and writing books, am I?  :reading:
