My Heart Can See Thee

My heart can see Thee,
Oh, beautiful One.
My heart can see Thee,
God’s precious Son.

The nails pierced Your hands,
The nail pierced Your feet.
The crown of thorns,
All Heaven did mourn.

Death defeated,
Final answer unfolds.
Risen from the grave!
The end not yet told.

Ascended on high!
Apostles assured.
Your story told quickly,
To a skeptic world.

Passed into the Heavens,
My Jesus, Son of God.
The Father adores,
King of Kings, Lord of Lords!

Entered within the veil,
The Lamb sits on His throne.
Hope I now have,
Sure anchor for my soul.

Perfect sacrifice,
Bringing rest to my heart,
My heart can see Thee,
My Saviour Thou art.

Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which entereth into that within the veil;
Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made a high priest forever
Hebrews 6: 19, 20

Heal my heart and make it clean
Open up my eyes to the things unseen
Show me how to love like You have loved me

Break my heart for what breaks Yours
Everything I am for Your kingdom's cause
As I walk from earth into eternity

Conquered----

Thanks for these posts.  This is really what Christianity is all about isn't it?  We get side-tracked,  out of focus, and sometimes forget that Heaven would be nothing without Jesus in it!!  Our inheritance is really not a place, but a person--Jesus himself!!

Often you hear people speak of "rewards"----the crowns Christians will receive.  And yet what will be the real reward?  The real reward will be to throw those crowns at the feet of Jesus.  We would not even have the crowns if Jesus hadn't worked through us----so they are really His crowns anyway!!!  The reward is not the crown itself, but being able to lay it at the feet of Jesus.

Remember as a child you'd ask your Mom for a dollar?  She'd ask "what do you need it for?"  And you would reply "to buy you a birthday present Mom!" Your Mom would give you the dollar and smile, knowing she was giving you a gift so you in turn could give her a gift. She delighted in giving you the delight of giving to her!! Smile Eternity will really be the same thing---but in a much larger scale.  The "reward" we receive belongs to the giver----and we get to lay that very reward at his feet----and that is the REAL REWARD.  Smile

And the real sadness on that day won't be that you don't have more crowns to wear---it will be that you don't have more crowns to throw at the feet of Jesus! What a joy to take ALL and throw it at His feet------for He alone is worthy!!  That is the true reward-----to see a smile on Jesus' face as He greets us in Heaven---to see Him rejoice will be the greatest reward of them all!!!

Bless you for the posts!!    Smile

May I add these wonderful lyrics to this thread?  I don't know how many are familiar with this but it is a song of great blessing - at least to me.

Chris Rice - Untitled Hymn (Come To Jesus) Lyrics

Weak and wounded sinner
Lost and left to die
O, raise your head, for love is passing by
Come to Jesus
Come to Jesus
Come to Jesus and live!

Now your burden's lifted
And carried far away
And precious blood has washed away the stain, so
Sing to Jesus
Sing to Jesus
Sing to Jesus and live!

And like a newborn baby
Don't be afraid to crawl
And remember when you walk
Sometimes we fall...so
Fall on Jesus
Fall on Jesus
Fall on Jesus and live!

Sometimes the way is lonely
And steep and filled with pain
So if your sky is dark and pours the rain, then
Cry to Jesus
Cry to Jesus
Cry to Jesus and live!

O, and when the love spills over
And music fills the night
And when you can't contain your joy inside, then
Dance for Jesus
Dance for Jesus
Dance for Jesus and live!

And with your final heartbeat
Kiss the world goodbye
Then go in peace, and laugh on Glory's side, and
Fly to Jesus
Fly to Jesus
Fly to Jesus and live!

Ephesians 2:8-10  Who saves, how He saves, why He saves.

"8For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith–and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God– 9not by works, so that no one can boast. 10For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do."

One of my favourite hymns is the following;

My song is love unknown,
My Savior’s love to me;
Love to the loveless shown,
That they might lovely be.

O who am I, that for my sake
My Lord should take, frail flesh and die?

He came from His blest throne
Salvation to bestow;
But men made strange, and none
The longed for Christ would know:
But O! my Friend, my Friend indeed,
Who at my need His life did spend.

Sometimes they strew His way,
And His sweet praises sing;
Resounding all the day
Hosannas to their King:
Then “Crucify!” is all their breath,
And for His death they thirst and cry.

Why, what hath my Lord done?
What makes this rage and spite?
He made the lame to run,
He gave the blind their sight,
Sweet injuries! Yet they at these
Themselves displease, and ’gainst Him rise.

They rise and needs will have
My dear Lord made away;
A murderer they saved,
The Prince of life they slay,
Yet cheerful He to suffering goes,
That He His foes from thence might free.

In life, no house, no home
My Lord on earth might have;
In death no friendly tomb
But what a stranger gave.
What may I say? Heav’n was His home;
But mine the tomb wherein He lay.

Here might I stay and sing,
No story so divine;
Never was love, dear King!
Never was grief like Thine.
This is my Friend, in Whose sweet praise
I all my days could gladly spend.

'My song is love unknown' was written by Samuel Crossman.It is a traditional hymn, and the words have always impacted me, even before I was saved.They used to convict me.

Here, sung by a choir.

That's a lovely hymn! I once heard it sung in a cathedral in England. (I struggle with the doctrinal goings on at such cathedrals, but musically it was very good.)

Take care.

John 3.16 contains great theology, without doubt.

Read God's Word prayerfully every day; it's a joy and privilege.

If folks feel they must have TATTOOS, have you considered having faith related designs tattooed?

(And try vacationing in the South: plenty of sun, and some great churches down there!)

Farouk,

I'm not sure, but I think it's likely a hymn written by someone in the Church of England/Anglican church. It's still a lovely one, and really encapsulates the gospel.
