I like that quote. But just because it's a nice quote, doesn't mean we can look past the inaccuracies in the book.

Dear oh dear.. picking and choosing again.

sometimes you just have to agree to disagree,,,,,,,,,,,,and let it go........much easier on the stress meter.......that whole thingy about 2 Timothy, verse 16:  "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:"

not for nothing, but don't see why the Gosple of John would be excluede from this.......my belief is that if one part of the Bible is false, then it's all false..........someone said that didn't they?.......can't remember who........

Completely agree... and here endeth my contribution to this thread  ::clappingoverhead::

"When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, "Son, your sins are forgiven."
Now some teachers of the law were sitting there, thinking to themselves, "Why does this fellow talk like that? He's blaspheming! Who can forgive sins but God alone

He still refers himself to the son of man, and says he has authority to forgive sins. He doesn't claim that he's God.  And exactly p.rehbein :)

I believe in Christ as the son of God. He never said he wanted to be worshiped as God. He is my savior, and I thank him for showing me how to live my life, and I respect him with every ounce of respect that he deserves. But I don't call him my God, or elevate him to the same divinity of God. God's right hand man? Sure. And even if he was God, I'm sure he wouldn't mind it if I still thought of God as God because they'd be one in the same.

Might want to consider the fact that many, many people fell down and "worshiped Him" and never once does it say Jesus told anyone to get up, or stop worshiping.  And yet God Himself says:

"I am the LORD; that is my name!
I will not give my glory to another
" (Is. 42:8)

Why would God then allow men to worship Jesus, unless Jesus is God Himself (God the Son)?

Where? Can you find me a reference in one of the first three books? I'm not saying you're wrong but I'm looking through it right now myself.
