Ms B:

Of the 10 commandments in Exodus 20, the sabbath (as a ceremonial obligation) is the only one not quoted by the Lord Jesus in the Gospels. Rather, with Christ as the 'firstfruits of them that slept', the Resurrection corresponds with the Old Testament feast of first fruits (1 Cor. 15.20).

Take care.
The 7Th day Sabbath was created at creation.   Before any ceremonial obligation was needed.

Mighty big ASSUMPTION there.

That has nothing to do with the command to man to keep the 7th day... it has to do with God.

Keep trying...

But if a day was the Lord's, the Sabbath would be a good stab.

I don't understand why would someone try so hard to destroy the 10 Commandments. Except maybe because of the 4Th Commandment.  This is to bad, because the 10 Commandments is really for our own benefit.
Why is the Sabbath Commandment such a big problem?  Most of the Christian world don't have a problem with the other 9.

It's amazing that you cannot see the forest for the tree... who is trying to destroy the 10 commandments?... all I am doing is putting them in their correct place and context and who they applied to... you apparently are a universalist and refuse to look at the time line and cultures of the bible.

Stupid is as stupid does.. is what comes to mind when I read your posts... and I am sorry I feel that way.  From now on I will just refer to you as Forrest Gump.. you earned it.

You want to destroy the 10 Commandments because you want to limit them according to your belief.   And yes you are entitle to your opinion even if you think that I am stupid.  God bless.

The fact that you say I want to destroy them proves my point.

The 10 commandments are the bare minimum... a flawed base that allows wiggle room for people to toe the line and do some very bad things (like you and your brethren) yet claim to keep the commandments.

Christ abolished the commandments because of people like you.

The 10 Commandment principles cover all sins known to men some way or another.  They are not the bare minimum.

Freedom From Human Regulations Through Life With Christ

6So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in him, 7rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.

8See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the basic principles of this world rather than on Christ.

9For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form, 10and you have been given fullness in Christ, who is the head over every power and authority. 11In him you were also circumcised, in the putting off of the sinful nature, not with a circumcision done by the hands of men but with the circumcision done by Christ, 12having been buried with him in baptism and raised with him through your faith in the power of God, who raised him from the dead.

13When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your sinful nature, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins, 14having canceled the written code, with its regulations, that was against us and that stood opposed to us; he took it away, nailing it to the cross. 15And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross.

16Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day. 17These are a shadow of the things that were to come; the reality, however, is found in Christ. 18Do not let anyone who delights in false humility and the worship of angels disqualify you for the prize. Such a person goes into great detail about what he has seen, and his unspiritual mind puffs him up with idle notions. 19He has lost connection with the Head, from whom the whole body, supported and held together by its ligaments and sinews, grows as God causes it to grow.

20Since you died with Christ to the basic principles of this world, why, as though you still belonged to it, do you submit to its rules: 21"Do not handle! Do not taste! Do not touch!"? 22These are all destined to perish with use, because they are based on human commands and teachings. 23Such regulations indeed have an appearance of wisdom, with their self-imposed worship, their false humility and their harsh treatment of the body, but they lack any value in restraining sensual indulgence.

The bible could not say it better how these two are totally lost.

After reading this article you will be without an excuse regarding the Sabbath day of the Lord God of the bible.

(Gen.2:2-5) (v.2) And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. (v.3) And God blessed the seventh day, every seventh day of the week is a blessed and holy day. and sanctified it: and it is a day that’s separated (sanctified) for a purpose. because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made. (v.5) “and there was not a man to till the ground.” That’s right man had not even been created when God made, blessed and sanctified the Sabbath day.

There was no Jew, there was no Catholic, there was no Baptist, there was no Seventh Day Adventist, and in fact there was not a Christian!

What excuse will you give to God for spreading false doctrines?

I don't judge you Tantor for observing Sunday. I also observe Sunday. I assume you shouldn't judge anyone for keeping the Sabbath or any other day by your verses you quoted. Besides there is the forum rules and all:

1.5 You will not directly state or otherwise imply that another member is not a Christian if he or she genuinely believes in Jesus Christ as the savior of human beings from hell and claims to have demonstrable faith in Him.

The same could be said for you...in the way you treat those that feel different from you.
