It's probably a little late to pray that wewon't deify our positions.  Maybe you could pray that we will pull our position-gods down off their cherubim-pedestals.

1) I'm not sure why a being of Spirit would need a gender....
2) I'm not sure why I'm supposed to give a flying flip about what's inside the golfing knickers of the members of a private golf club...
3) The day my tax dollars go to finance the Masters, maybe I'll care a little more about where they hold the first round of it...

Did anyone else notice this quote in Friday's USA Today?

\"At a news conference Thursday in Atlanta, (Martha) Burk said the rainout (of the first round of the Masters golf tournament) was evidence that Mother Nature had joined her cause.  'The goddess is watching,' she said.\"

Regardless of whether or not one thinks Augusta National should admit women (or cares), Burk's comment--tongue-in-cheek or not--reveals that silliness of the radical feminist movement and they way it, like so many other politically correct notions, have become dieties unto themselves.  Of course, Burk also revealed the pettiness of her self-created \"goddess.\"  Our God has more important things to tend to.

As we in the Restoration Movement continue to discuss the role of women in the church--as I sincerely hope we do--I pray that we won't deify our own positions.

Sure.  From what I've been told, He's busy checking our voter registration cards.

(I wish that was more tongue-in-cheek than it is)

Martha is definately challenging the resolve of those who have been taught that God has A sex and that it is male.
