WORSHIP UNDER THE NEW ERA

 Questions For Today

    Q.   “Buff, a large part of our apparent differences about worship would probably be resolved if we would agree that when Paul said, ‘Present your bodies a living sacrifice,’ he was thinking of our lives as a whole, as you have implied or stated, but was not speaking of each individual act of our lives.  Surely we can agree that when one sits down to a Thanksgiving dinner, he should not think of that specific act as ‘presenting his body as a living sacrifice.’

“We may speak of a person’s whole life as being a ‘prayerful life,’ ‘a sacrificial life,’ ‘a life of reverence and praise’ without assuming that every specific act in his life is a prayer, a sacrifice, or a praise.  When I mowed my lawn, I thanked God that I was able to do so, and thereby worshipped God, but the actual mowing was not an act of worship or done in service to God.  Does that get us any closer together, or does it matter?

Aha! You probably think that "Speak one to another" means "Speak one to another."

I thought that it meant: "One speak to all others -- and pay him too."

That's not what it means, but that's what we're doing—the exact opposite of what the early believers were instructed to do.

Why would I want to worship under the new Equal Rights Ammendment?
