I always think of the Marriage Supper of the Lamb when this question is brought up.  We won't need food for our bodies to sustain life as we do down here, but I somehow think dining with Jesus and the saints will just be another aspect of heaven to enjoy.  We may be served all of the fruits and vegetables that God placed in the Garden of Eden to please our palates.  ::yummy::

Rev. 22:1 And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.
Rev. 22:2 In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life,
which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month:
and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.

2590. karpo/ß karpos, kar-pos´; probably from the base of 726; fruit (as plucked), literally or figuratively: — fruit.

Rev. 22:3 And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him:
Rev. 22:4 And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads.
Rev. 22:5 And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.

Rev. 22:6 And he said unto me, These sayings are faithful and true:
and the Lord God of the holy prophets sent his angel
to shew unto his servants the things which must shortly be done.
Rev. 22:7 Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book.

3581. Aj;Ok koach, ko´-akh; or (Dan. 11:6) Ajwø;k kowach, ko´-akh; from an unused root meaning to be firm; vigor, literally (force, in a good or a bad sense) or figuratively (capacity, means, produce); also (from its hardiness) a large lizard:—ability, able, chameleon, force, fruits, might, power(-ful), strength, substance, wealth.
You forgot to say which word in the text this translation is for.  Fruits?  But that's karpos...

Is the Kingdom of God spoken in Romans 14:17 just referring to heaven here?

No way of knowing for sure it. Any answer to this is speculation on what we gather from scripture but could not be given all that is needed to know completely. does it really matter?

This is not something for most people to worry about when they reject the Word of the Lord:

Deut. 28:53 And thou shalt eat the fruit of thine own body, the flesh of thy sons and of thy daughters, which the LORD thy God hath given thee, in the siege, and in the straitness, wherewith thine enemies shall distress thee:

2Kings 6:25 And there was a great famine in Samaria: and, behold, they besieged it, until an ass’s head was sold for fourscore pieces of silver, and the fourth part of a cab of dove’s dung for five pieces of silver.
2Kings 6:26 And as the king of Israel was passing by upon the wall, there cried a woman unto him, saying, Help, my lord, O king.
2Kings 6:27 And he said, If the LORD do not help thee, whence shall I help thee? out of the barnfloor, or out of the winepress?
2Kings 6:28 And the king said unto her, What aileth thee? And she answered, This woman said unto me, Give thy son, that we may eat him to day, and we will eat my son to morrow.
2Kings 6:29 So we boiled my son, and did eat him: and I said unto her on the next day, Give thy son, that we may eat him: and she hath hid her son.

Don't forget that Jesus said that truth had been hidden in parables from the foundation of the World: The tallest tree could stand for the Assyrians just as the serpent was a "musical enchanter(ess).  This also describes the king of Tyre who is called the "singing and harp playing prostitute in the garden of Eden."

Ezek. 31:3 Behold, the Assyrian was a cedar in Lebanon with fair branches,
and with a shadowing shroud, and of an high stature; and his top was among the thick boughs.
Ezek. 31:4 The waters made him great, the deep set him up on high with her rivers running round about his plants, and sent out her little rivers unto all the trees of the field.
Ezek. 31:5 Therefore his height was exalted above all the trees of the field, and his boughs were multiplied, and his branches became long because of the multitude of waters, when he shot forth.
Ezek. 31:6 All the fowls of heaven made their nests in his boughs, and under his branches did all the beasts of the field bring forth their young, and under his shadow dwelt all great nations.
Ezek. 31:7 Thus was he fair in his greatness, in the length of his branches: for his root was by great waters.
Ezek. 31:8 The cedars in the garden of God could not hide him: the fir trees were not like his boughs, and the chesnut trees were not like his branches; nor any tree in the garden of God was like unto him in his beauty.
Ezek. 31:9 I have made him fair by the multitude of his branches: so that all the trees of Eden, that were in the garden of God, envied him.
Ezek. 31:10 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thou hast lifted up thyself in height, and he hath shot up his top among the thick boughs, and his heart is lifted up in his height;

Only when they strayed from the menu.  If they'd stuck to okra and pinto beans they'd have been fine.  You would've wanted to skip the evening walk together, but they'd have been fine.

I wonder how many people on this board know that Assyrian mythology contains a Tree of Life, complete with serpent.

Did you know that blit, or were you just throwing that out there as a possibility?

Wait I forgot the dozen kraut dogs to go along with it........ ::eek::........oops der it is!

Maybe the Der Weinersnitzl section of heaven will be in the far upper corner of the 1,500 x 1,500 x 1,500 mile cube of heaven. Or could it be that there is no flatulence in heaven............nah! that would take the fun out of it.

No. "The old things pass away." (Rev.21:4) To elaborate, saints in the New Jerusalem (heaven) have nothing that will cause them sadness or pain in their consummated, glorified state. "They shall neither hunger anymore or thirst anymore; the sun shall not strike them, nor any heat; for the Lamb who is in the midst of the throne will shepherd them and lead them to living fountains of waters. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes" (Rev.7:16-17)

"Behold, I make all things new" means just that!- a completed newness of body, soul & spirit that perfectly suits Christians for the fullness of life in the consummate kingdom of God before His throne. All believers in the N.J. are before the Lord in a perfect, blameless, glorified condition, as represented by the the beautiful & precious stones & gold & pearls that are in the city.
In the vision of the N.J., is an analogy of a greater paradise than in the Garden. They, (and we will be) in the closest fellowship with God & enjoy sinless service & worship, partaking in an eternal life pictured by the tree of life, and the river of the water of life.

"The New Heavens & New Earth in Rev 21:1-8 has representations in which symbolism is carried to the utmost limits. But the symbols, though transcendental, are not unmeaning. They serve unto an example and shadow of heavenly things; and all the pomp and splendor of earth are employed to set forth the beauty of moral and spiritual excellence."
(J.S. Russell, The Parousia)

Remember, flesh & blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God. We will have new bodies, but spiritual bodies.

Whether we eat or not won't be an issue.

We really have very little idea what heaven will be like, other than the fact that there will be harps and the sound of harps there. :)  OK that was really for the IM thread, but I was on a roll and couldn't help myself.

We won't be hungry or thirsty.
Maybe we will be able to imagine food into being.  Wouldn't that be cool.
