That isn't normal.  My dog would corner it.  He found a possum last night and made it hard for my kid to take him outside.  If I tell him their are birds outside, he goes to the window and looks and gets antsy.

He has never killed anything but he has a strong instinct to chase prey.  He is a bird dog.
