Did anyone make a resolution to lose weight in the New Year?  If so how is it coming along?

I'm on Atkins.  I started on Jan. 6th (the day after the Fiesta Bowl party!).  I will lose about 20-25 lbs by the time my wife and I go to San Diego the first full week of April.

Not me...  We just had Christmas this past Saturday... it was the only day that I could get my husband, all 7 of our children and our grandchildren here on the same day... so we voted to wait.  I still have a piece of prime rib in my frig...  no diet here yet. LOL.

But, my fil gave us a nice gift of $$ for Christmas, we put new tires on my van, we are buying an awesome sleigh bed, and I am joining Curves!!  I will start on weight watchers then...  I'll let you know how it goes!  We are starting a deployment this month, I hope to drop off some during that time. Pray for me.

I want to lose at least 10 lbs., and have been working out on a treadmill for a couple of weeks now.  Now, if I could just overcome my "chocolate" habit, the weight should drop off quickly.  It seems every winter I get cravings for chocolate, and I put on winter fat.  When the weather gets warmer, the craving goes away, but the fat lingers.   ::lookaround::  Why is that?   ::pondering::

Not as a NY resolution, but I did decide a few weeks ago to change my eating habits and watch my nutrition much more diligently.  The main thing I've done is to go to a low-fat regime, rather than a "diet" (more about discipline and choices that can become long-term than about a temporary quick fix).  It's something I did 18 years ago with success, and is far easier to keep discipline with than a diet (for me, that is...everybody's different with this stuff).

I've already lost several lbs.  I'm hoping things will improve more steadily as weather starts to allow getting out for walks, etc.

They claim that, for a man, the average sexual encounter burns about 260 calories. Much more effective and enjoyable than jogging or restricting your diet.

I used to be pretty obese and started putting on a lot of weight especially on my thighs and bottom in my late thirties. I started exercising as often as possible and also cut down on a lot of high calorie stuff.

I sort of did... no diet resolution, per se, just a desire to eat healthy.

But we've recently moved, and I've been sick, and school is taking up so much time for all three of us.... healthy eating is a pipe dream right now. Maybe later?
