Yes, I am sure, and I try to apply it (with some chocolate on occasion). I think the people in Jesus' time did eat somewhat like that, and only ate red meat at special feasts. They also walked a lot. We are killing ourselves with poor diet and little exercise.
A few years ago my wife and I toured Israel, and did find most buffets laid out at hotels for the tour groups used cheese, fish, and eggs for their protein, and had lots of veggies, olives, and fruit (even for breakfast).
