I was looking at the couch-to-5k plan back about 6 months ago, more as a way to build endurance and tone-up than to lose weight, but decided jogging/running would be too hard on my knees. I decided to power walk up and down hills instead, adding a weighted backpack to increase the workload.
I just came through a major illness, so it's back to square one as far as fitness, I could barely go up a flight of stairs when I got out of the hospital a month ago, but I am gradually building my strength back up.
