Suicide surprisingly decreased during pandemic
« on: Fri Apr 23, 2021 - 12:02:51 »
So the narrative now is the lockdown wasn't as harmful for mental health as previously thought since there were fewer suicides, and it won't hurt to continue locking down if needed. Less suicide is good. Stats are being released to prove it.

The rest of the story they conveniently leave out -

During the pandemic, domestic violence increased and homicides skyrocketed by 30%-40%. (higher in some cities - well over 70%)

So during the lockdown, if we can believe the stats - looks like we went from killing ourselves to killing each other.  ::frown::

I say lock 'em down tighter than Dick's hatband. Probably be reported the best small business economy in history during the lockdowns. According to Democrat/Media logic, I suppose, we must lock everything down to save the economy. All the while raising tax rates and minimum wages on small businesses, who have been struggling with competitive tax rates and less regulation. It will spur an unprecedented boom to the economy.  ::lookaround:: And everyone will be eating Skittles while sitting beside our pots of gold at the end of our rainbows. No really, directly observable

It's kind of ironic that suicide decreases during hard times.   That's been noticed before.  No one is sure why that happens, but there is some evidence.

It’s probably because suicides were counted as covid deaths.
