Am I required to have a certain number of post before I can use the options on my profile or the functions like bold and quote work? None of them work for me.

Uh oh, I fear we may be in for another mess of mutilated postings when they do start working. Why can't people just leave that silliness for Jr. High girls?

Speak for your stodgy constipated self. I appreciate having tons of formatting options and emoticons (or emojis, or whatever). One of my big complaints with Facebook is that it does NOT support
bold,
italic,
underline,
strikethrough,
combinations, etc.
Ever stop to think that there is probably a reason FB ignores those things?

No, it should work for you. Try a different browser and report back, this forum has a few formatting issues that have been present for well over a decade.

Yep. It is cheaper to not have them..... less maintenance means less expense and therefore does not cut into Zuckerberg's bottom line.

Yeah, that is why Cadillac, Benz, Rolls, and Lexus all just make cheaper cars. LOL If it increased, rather that detracted from their sales, you can be sure FB would have all the kid's stuff.

Of course not. I want what I want.
I hate Facebook, and I hate Suck-a-Turd. But it's virtually the only way -- certainly by far the most convenient way -- for me to stay in touch with family and friends.

I wish I could resolve the problem. I can't be the only one experiencing them. If the forum wants to keep its members the issue should be resolved.
It's very strange Charles, different people seem to have different experiences. All of the buttons work fine for me (with the exception of "insert quote") but for others they do nothing at all.
We moderators do not have back-end admin privileges, so I can't be much help.

Many stay because of learned helplessness.
What happens if you manually type the tags? I know it can be tedious, but I'm one of those annoying jerks who breaks up quotes and responds point by point, so it's pretty normal for me to just type the tags.

There are at least 50 others you can use.

I'm unable to post an avatar or signature too. Where is that option found? I click my profile but don't see it anywhere?
Not sure if your settings will look the same as mine but for me it's Profile/Modify Profile/Forum Profile, and the "Personal Picture" is where you add your avatar. Maybe someone else can confirm that I pointed in the right direction.

I doubt that you read more than the misleading headline of that site.
In any case -- only feasible if (1) My family and friends already know of it and use it, and (2) it's at least as usable on desktop or laptop as it is on mobile devices. (I have no mobile device, and have no plans for one.)
