Just found one tiny tick on myself, then started checking out everything and found another. Both latched on!
So I did a quick online search, and this year is supposed to be a bad one for ticks.
Please be careful everyone. In 1989, I nearly bit the dust with a bad case of Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever. I had every symptom, except for the typical rash (spots), so that made diagnosis very difficult. I spent days in the hospital getting worse and worse until one doctor decided on a whim to check for RMSF since I had been camping. Bingo. I'm supposed to be immune to RMSF now, but not the other tick-borne diseases.
Everyone be careful and keep a look-out for any ticks after being outside. I spent some time in my parents' back yard yesterday, so maybe that's where they found me. ::frown::

Just got a tick on myself the other day. Pulled it out of my hairline. I was in the woods so it would have been very easy to get one on me. To make sure there were no more I took a very hot bath. Not guaranteed to kill.
For your clothes, dryer will kill by drying the ticks out. I have killed ticks in the house with dish soap and letting them drown in it.

Hope you don't get the tick fever!
It didn't implant. I just felt it crawling on my neck.
