: I have a question
: DaveW Tue Aug 23, 2022 - 07:19:33
For my SDA brothers.

October 22 this year has been designated "Creation Sabbath," or so the ad on facebook says.  I have never heard of it before.  Can someone enlighten me on this (apparently new) celebration?

Amo, will address this I'm sure.

What I am finding interesting is that it coincides exactly (this year at least) with the Jewish cycle of scripture readings - that day is Genesis 1:1 - 6:8  and Isaiah 42:5 - 43:10.

As I have not attended church in many years, I'm not up to date on many of their promotions. Just couldn't hang with generic church services, or increasing sermons which often indirectly contradicted present and or traditional SDA truths. Not to mention a complete deemphasis of biblical prophecy from the pulpit while the world is literally ending before our eyes. I found the following site though -

Pretty much sounds like a celebration of what every sabbath should be. This may be a counter, or contest as it were, to the many and increasing special Sunday celebrations popping up all over the world. It only makes sense that as the man of sin increasingly promotes his created day of worship, that those who worship the true God increasingly promote His created day of worship. Just my two cents though. I am not any longer in the loop as it were.

I listed that website in my OP. You may be right that it is just a promotion or counter of some sort.  And yes, every Shabbat should be a celebration of creation.

Exodus 31:17
It is a sign between Me and the sons of Israel forever; for in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, but on the seventh day He ceased from labor, and was refreshed."

When we are "grafted in", do we not become sons of Israel, part of God's olive tree, or God's people?

Yes. It is extremely important for humanity to remember often exactly who God is, and who we are in relation to Him. Sin creates a condition so forgetful of this most crucial fact and understanding.

True that. All the sons and daughters of Israel worship God on His holy Sabbath.

No matter how bad it gets as we have our own struggles with the FL. Conf., we must get with our brothers and sisters in love and fellowship. And always remember, the church will not fall through to the end..

I have attended church several times this year. Made a decision to get back to rubbing shoulders with believers at least once a week, as rubbing shoulders with the world constantly has its ill effects observed within my own life. Getting a little too hard, cold, and rough deeper inside than the edges.

Nevertheless, it is dangerous to willingly sit and listen to deception, subtle or not, every week. Best to travel if necessary though, for some fellowship with, and shared wisdom from like believers. Those who put the word of God above all else, are few and far between in this world.

Well we had to form a new group as spiritual formation and what can only say 'liberals' took over our church board, but we are growing and being blessed. So we are making a difference with God's help..
