One and two are the same, Gods grace was always there, but many abuse it, and go right back to the bondage under sin..
But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, (ye have your fruit unto holiness), and the end everlasting life. For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. -Romans 6:22,23

There was no such thing as being born again under the Old Covenant.
John 1:3 All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being.

Read John 3:16-17 one of many verses when you accept Christ as Savior and Lord and repent!
