It's time to fess up, what is your favorite channel?

				Whichever one has football.

Fox News, hands down.  It is almost always on in the mornings in our house.
OD

HGTV, if I ever watch TV.

Does anyone watch the golf channel?

ESPN, Then ESPN 2, ESPNews, ESPNU, Classic ESPN,

				SCIFI, period.
i do check twc at times.
NO news channel is reliable.
sports?  good greif, no.  i'll watch again when they figure out how to play a 60 minute game in somewhere close to that time limit.
dj :D

				Whichever one has baseball.

I saw Peter Griffin made the New England Patriots, but his end zone production of a broadway type song got him fired by Tom Brady.  The team just had enough of his shenanigans.  And Griffin was a New Englander from Quahog.  Getting fired from your home NFL team and your dream.  That is a doozy.

				NO news channel is reliable.
Isn't that the truth?  I've found lately that if you flick between CNN & Fox you'll find that both are plenty biased, and both are pretty slick editors, giving whatever impression they prefer.
CSPAN often reveals neither is wholly reliable for representing the context of the soundbites the media provides.

				HGTV
I don't ever watch any of the 10 choices in the poll.
What is the Speed channel?  I've never even heard of it.

				Couple of things...
My older boys and I have taken to calling HGTV "How GAY TV" - seems like every show has to make sure and feature two "partners" who are rehabing a house or choosing a decorator.
I'm not looking for balance in my news, I want a conservative point of view.  Fox is the ONLY news outlet on television that consistently provides that.
My favorite Fox News shows...
Fox and Friends
Your World w/Cavuto
O'Reilly Factor
The Big Story w/John Gibson
War Stories w/Oliver North
Special Report w/Brit Hume
OD

I voted for ESPN, but that was a pretty loaded poll :D
my humble 2 cents

Given the huge meth problem we're having around here, the existence of this channel disturbs me.
All news right now is run through corporate filters.  Because of that, we should run everything through our own filters before we accept it at face value.

Too true!  And at least 75% of the male decorators are gay as well.

That's why CSPAN is my favorite "non-entertainment" channel.
[And I am pretty sure that would be true even if I
could get any of those channels on that list...]

				PBS (not on the poll)

So what is the Speed channel?

My understanding is that they cover both racing and racin'.

Ah.  The "sport" that bores you to sleep until something explodes.

Best race I ever watched was a bunch of 80s VW Rabbits racing along a mountain road in Europe somewhere.  Every now and then one would just bounce off the side of the mountain.  They must've had great roll cages, no one was hurt.
I like rally racing.  It's the only kind I'd actually get into doing myself I think.  Nascar is too much like a glorified commute from Plano to Dallas without the threat of a ticket.

HGTV. My husband loves the speed channel, but he does hate meth. I like the lifetime channel with all their hokey movies and sci-fi when they have shows like Twilight Zone on.
seekr

I don't have cable, so of the six or so channels I do get, I'd go with PBS as my favorite.
When I did have cable, though, I usually watched the Food Network and the Game Show Network.
Regards.

				None of the above.

Given the choices on the list I guess I would have to go with ESPN. I don't watch TV news unless there is a disaster of some sort. Most TV news lacks depth and balance. I find it very scary that so many people are developing a world view based on Fox News.
The network that the wife and I are watching the most this winter is Spike. They run back to back re-runs of CSI which we watch while taking turns on the exercise bike.

Does anyone watch the golf channel?
Sometimes.

Here's the real question - does anyone watch the QVC network?

				 rofl

By the way, what do you all think of channel 3?

What is channel 3 where you live? It's channel 4 where I live. Now that sounds like something that would come from someone with less intelligence than I really do have!!

Uh, I didn't see an "other" category (for those us not so enamored of sports), so I didn't vote.
My faves are The History Channel and The Science Channel and DYI and Food Network.

Kalen, I was going to whine about the restricted choices. But I decided we were supposed to chose between the choices given. There wasn't an "other" category because we were to choose between the choices given. We are so used to whining about not getting our way or our say, that we forget sometimes there is a restriction for a reason. We aren't always entitled to have our own way.
Man, it felt good being in "mother mode" again. I haven't gotten to do that for months!!
I sure miss not being a "mom".
Kalen, I promise I'm not picking on you. But one of your choices was DYI, not DIY. DIY is Do It Yourself. Is DYI Do Yourself IN? That's what some of my DIY projects have become before.

LOL!  Yeah, I meant "DIY" (though yes, I've been DONE IN a few times...).
And for the record, I wasn't whining.  I was stating a fact.  So there, plth! :-P

My Three favorite channels are not listed in the polls,Lifetime Television,TVLand, and the FoodNetwork ::noworries::

I've even seen CSPAN be biased at times.  So, I watch Fox News because I like the O'Reilly Factor and Hannity and Colmes and occasionally On the Record with Gretta.  I would say my television (when I am watching it) is 50% Fox News and 50% ESPN.  So I didn't vote because I couldn't choose.
My television watching goes all over the place though too.

I started watching CNN since it's inception. I guess I'm stuck in my ways.
Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CNN

				ESPN hands down.

Until recently our local cable company didn't offer the Game Show Network.
For the most part GSN and the Food Network are our default channels. If nothing strikes our fancy we end up there knowing we aren't likely to see anything embarassing (other than the occasional bad speller on Lingo).

				None of the above
Hallmark and Lifetime.

I watch Fox News, but alternate between that, CBN news, and the local Chicago news channels.
My favorite channels are Food Network, Create, and I admit I do watch QVC & HSN, but I rarely buy anything.  I just like most of the hosts.

Not necessarily:  ::pondering::
My favorite channel in the living room is 3, but in the bedroom, it is 4.

				Oh yeah...
CSPAN still rules...

If I had more than one, wouldn't they be called "AUXen"? ::headscratch::

Well, Deliverance certainly has a special place in the minds of us Appalachian-Americans, if not in our worst nightmares.
Sometimes Burt Reynolds and the others who were involved in that movie would eat supper and the like in Sylva, NC.  That's where I went to church while in college and where my sargeant-major and I were married.
The scary thing is that in one of the interviews with Burt about the movie, iirc, he said that when the two guys who did the unspeakable deed were told what the script called for them to do and asked them if they had a problem, one said he'd probably done a lot worse in real life and the other one, who had been sitting and staring at Ned Beatty, said he'd actually thought about it, before.

				 rofl
They sure don't make good movies like that anymore. Talk about type casting! Ned Beatty will always be that character in my mind. (in a theatrical sense  ::blushing::)
