How to post a picture in the Grace-Centered forums.
1. Click the picture button above the emotions/smileys. (It looks like a button with a small white-framed picture.)
2. Upon clicking the picture button, you will see the following code tags appear in the message area: [img][/img]
3. Between the [img] and the [/img] enter the web address to your picture. It will look like this: [img]http://www.somewebsite.com/picturename.jpg[/img]
4. When you click the "post" button at the bottom of the message area, your picture will post, assuming it is not too large and that you have correctly typed the web address to the picture.
NOTE: The forum tag codes were turned off for this post so that the process could be explained. Feel free to practice posting your pictures in this thread. The code tags will work in rest of the threads.
Awesome Lee! I hope it works for me....

trying again
just a friendly reminder to all who wish to post photos. Be sure to use your own web space for this and not photos from other sites. Posting photos means that this site is linking back to another site and those active links are a constand drain of useable bandwidth and bandwidth useage costs money when it exceeds the alloted bandwidth of the site. IOW, be a curteous web user and help those who do have web sites maintain a lower bandwidth useage and save money by using your own server space for posting photos. Almost everyone with a web connection is supplied server space for posting a web site, photos, storing files, etc at no extra charge along with a certain amount of limited bandwidth. If you are not sure you have web space, simply call your ISP and ask, and if you are unsure as to how access your server space, your supplier probably has the information posted on his web site.
I have a question about pictures...
How do we make the avatar picture bigger? I have seen some that are a little larger, and I wondered how they did that?
And the mood picture... mine says angelic and I want to change that. How do you do that?
Thank you for the info!
Val
I don't know if your question was ever answered, but I don't think there's any way to change the size of a picture you attach. Some of the avatars are bigger because those were the sizes of the images as they appear in the list of available avatars. But, if you're attaching your own, it may force them to the size you see. Admin may know for sure.
If you're using photobucket, you can change the size of the picture. They've changed the format recently. Now, when you click "edit" they give you a list of sizes and tell what each size represents (avatar, thumbnail, etc).
Once you shrink it, you can't enlarge it again, though.
For instance, this picture of Alabama's next coach was originally so large it took up the whole screen, but I shrunk it to thumbnail-size.

Just seeing if I can do this right.
Got it, thanks.

You need to put it on a website, like Geocities or photobucket. You cannot use pictures from your computer, unless you upload them to a website.
Thank you Gary!

1. If the photo is stored on your computer, You need to either
a) create an account at a website like photobucket.com.
b) go to tinypic.com
2. Click the place where it says "Browse"
3. Select which photo you want to upload.
4. Click Upload
5. Copy the [IMG] code.
6. Paste the code in your message. (You will not see the picture, just the img code.)
7. Click "Preview". At the top of the page you should see your image. Click "Post"

I am having the same pesky problem pasting, when I want to paste scripture. I switched over to Explorer from Firefox, but I prefer Firefox---so I cleared my cookies and it seems to work again on Firefox. I hope it sticks.
Edited to say that the paste problem persists after all...
How does one upload an image or pic from a flash drive?

How does one upload an image or pic from a flash drive?
You can't upload images directly to Grace Centered, you can only link to images on the web. So you need a third party site such as photobucket.com . Upload your pic there and link to it here.

David, you can't post something that ends in html. If you change post #40 to ".jpg" and #41 to ".gif" they will work.

Just a hint for those who, like me, may find it difficult to post clicking right between those 2 little [img] [img] marks where the cursor ends up as soon as you click on the icon above....
If, before you do anything at all, once you hit that icon and get that [img][img] mark with the flashing cursor area hit your space bar and you will get
[img] [img] a really wide area to drop your pic.....
