Hi GC Family,

I must say, I like movies.... created by the world, but I truly love Christian movies.... created by Christians.

As a prophecy teacher, I have many excellent, entertaining & educational (soul winning) movies tools for the whole family to watch (as many times as you want), enjoy & allow the Holy Spirit to use you in combination with the soul winning movies as a mighty tool in the hands of Jesus Christ our Lord & Savior to bring many sons & daughters into our Father's kingdom, they're all (naturally freeware &) centered around the Lord our God Jesus Christ.... remember (Matthew 10:8 (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?book_id=47&chapter=10&verse=8&version=9&context=verse) KJV) freely ye have received, freely give (also, service in itself is of its own reward).

I've seen, enjoyed & allowed the Holy Spirit to use me in combination with the (below) movies to bring hundreds of millions of sons & daughters into our Father's kingdom (including all my family members, relatives, etc) for over 12 years & thanks to the trinity (Father, Son & Holy Spirit) I am still going strong & here is just a partial-list of the ones I'd highly recommend to Christian & non-Christians:

No, but I've heard that it (visually) depicted just how bloody & (physically) painful our salvation was obtained by our Lord Jesus Christ.

I've seen a couple of these.  They were pretty lame.  Lame acting.  Lame camera work.  And the theology was waaaaaaaay off.

I haven't seen them. The Christian movies that I have seen were Nativity Story, The Left Behind 1-3, Passion of Christ, and Facing the Giants.

God Bless!

Thanks for the list.  I'll have to look them up.  I watched Doomsday 2012 on line the other day.  I THINK that was the name of it.  It was okay.

I borrowed The Omega Code from someone over a year ago.  I should probably either watch it or give it back.

I saw the Omega Code, and II... Megeddo was good to.

I liked "A Thief in the night'... "Years of the Beast"... and the "Moment After" series too.

For Christian movies, my all time favourites are the Left Behind series. I think they do a really good job of reaching across lines and being interesting to all kinds of people. Narnia is also lovely but I think the religious message is very subtle for non-Christians. There are friends of mine who have been shocked to hear the book was written by a Christian.

"One Night With The King" is a beautiful movie.  I've watched it many times.

I was all set to watch "One Night With the King" on New Year's Eve.  Half way through the movie, the cable channel blacked out, and I was never able to see the second half.  Now that was a test of my patience, let me tell you.   ::lookaround::

I watched a movie called "Esther" and I watched "One Night With The King."  "Esther" was better.

I thought "One Night With The King" was too artsy fartsy.

Awww... comon... now... why you gotta be that way?

I thought the scenery was awesome... I really liked it. I think they put a lot of work into it.. and it was much better than most biblical times movies I've seen. Time for the church to come up to the 21st century in movie making.  To me... I got the whole "Process" about getting ready to be picked, and was very impressed with the way they portrayed palace life.

Anyway... I liked it.. It wasn't a cowboy or MALE movie I guess.  rofl

Sheesh... dude... you gotta put up. Kwim?   ::whistle::

I just watched "The Passion Of The Christ" again yesterday. I know it is graphic in it's depiction of Christ's suffering; but sometimes we need to be reminds what our Lord had to endure for the love of all of us.  ::cryingtears::

Absolutely, I fully intend to watch it with my kids tomorrow evening.

When it came out, my husband and I saw it first, and then, I decided to take them.  My son who is now 18 wept openly in that theater, as did I, more the second time than the first time.  He has never since that day, failed to lift up Christ in his daily life, even in his public school. My oldest son who is now 32,  who was away from the LORD, (Had got saved as a teen and then wandered off in his 20's)... called me, and he had been openly weeping for more than 30 straight hours and said he could not stop and had to come back to the LORD knowing what Christ really suffered.

He has stayed right on it too since. The LORD has deffinately used this movie to keep the message of the true sacrifice of a human life for us alive in our family.

I heard Mark Lowery tell of the time his mom took he and his brother to see "The greatest story Ever told" and how during the Pilate scene and all,  satan was weaving through the crowed, whispering in the ears of the people... "Crucify Him"... "Crucify Him"... and as the timing grew close and the crowd grew more intense... He said he had all he could take... and he leaned up on his feet, in the seat and yelled at the screen... "NOOOO" and his brother said... "Shut up Mark, or we will all go to Hell"....

Even a child, knowing that without that the pain and sacrifice of death for Jesus, we would have no hope.

I do got to say that is is a violent movie, but that is what Jesus had to do to save us!

A.W. Tozer wrote on the menace of the religious movie.

Archibald Brown also wrote on amusement, including entertainment.

Note the following warning about depictions of Christ from former Catholic priest Richard Bennett:

"Creating a visual representation of the Lord Jesus, by definition, is to portray 'another Jesus.' The Lord Jesus in His Person, character, and work is divine and perfect. No Savior other than the One proclaimed in Scripture is permissible. Those who claim they are only depicting the humanity of Jesus Christ fall into the grievous heresy of Nestorius, as they wrongly attempt to divide the humanity from the deity of Christ, ending up with idols produced by the imaginations of their own hearts. The Lord God gave believers a Wordbook, not a picture book. ... The visual works of a man's devising, for all their emotional power, are too dull a tool to bring to the individual conviction of sin and the explicit Gospel of grace that the Written Word and the truth preached bring.

I haven't read the Tozer article yet (I will), but I'm going to guess off the bat, giving when he was alive, that he's writing about Cecil B. DeMille epics that tended to be over-the-top rewrites.  Thankfully, things have advanced a bit from there.

I don't believe that is even mentioned, but it is a good article.

Things have only declined from there.

I don't know that it would have to be; that was what The Biblical Movies were when Tozer was alive.

I disagree that things have only declined.  Have you seen The Gospel of John and similar movies that are taken directly from the Bible and strive for accuracy?  How about "Amazing Grace"?

I don't have a TV.

The decline is in Christianity, not in moviemaking. Read the article and then you see what I am talking about.
