I believe in the deep dark past castor oil was favored for stomach upsets and as a laxitive.  Does anybody still use that stuff today?

My mother says it's worse than spanking. ::wink::  Never even seen the stuff.

Actually, I've never had the "pleasure" of using it; and from all I ve ever heard, I don't intend to in the future...assuming the stuff is even still available.

When I was a kid I had to drink a bottle of it as a prep for a test.  It is quite disgusting.  I think my mom may have added it to some food to make it go down easier.  And yep, it cleans you out.

I was once given licorice powder mixed with water as a prep...It made me so sick they had to call off the intended procedure.  Nowadays fosso soda is in vogue.  I have to use it soon for a colonoscopy, and don't know how it will act, but I'm told it tastes like pure brine...YUK!  I trust that it won't react as violently as other substances used in the past for that purpose.

It will keep you on the pot long enough and often enough, that you may wish you had some baby rash ointment.  Talk about burning... LOL
I know the last time I used it I was regretting that I couldn't find a tube of Desitin way back behind everything in the sink cabinet, but it had been 10 years since I needed to use it on my daughter.
You might not need anything, but it might be handy to have something available.

Well the doctor who's doing my colonoscopy has assured me that fosso soda is far more gentle than past substances and methods such as licorice powder and castor oil; nevertheless, he has cautioned me not to wipe, but rather to pat dry.  Still I suspect I'll be longing for some baby oil before it's over.
