I got the tip of my thumb bit off today and hopefully my reattachement attempts will be fruitful. (By a large male green iguana) Through the upper half of my nail at an angle, no bone loss!)

How did this happen? Is this a pet? ::pondering:: ::doh::
That's because that's not where the thermometer goes.

I would recommend letting a qualified surgeon try the reattachment rather than an iguana.

This reminds me of another poorly phrased sentence I put in my records once. I had amputated a duck phallus and put it in the East Wing accordiong to my daily record.

no, one of the zoo's. He has .... anger issues. I was trying to treat his mouth! Yes, I messed up. Most injuries are that way.

OUCH! You shouldn't be hand feeding those things; they're supposed to eat other food.
I was wondering if perhaps this thread should have a cross reference to this one. (http://www.gracecentered.com/christian_forums/index.php/topic,32849.0.html)
[So now it does!]

That's the funniest thing I've read in a while. Hope the reattachment goes well. I am curious though...
How did you get it back from the iguana? He didn't swallow it?
And you work in a zoo, right? I mean, you're the "qualified professional" that's allowed to handle the animals the rest of us peons aren't allowed to, right?
What else have you been bit by? Hmmm...I'm full of questions today. Well, full of something, anyway. ::whistle::
My thumb is still mostly with me.
(He never closed his mouth so it was stuck to his teeth.)
Most animal bites/injuries can be traced to human error - though not all. This one was my fault. He turned his head to the side so fast it was a fraction of a second. The occassional painful throbbing or stinging keeps me awake some at night still.
This actually is good sermon fodder. What if the thumb said to the eye, I am not important....
I really miss my thumb's full function. We all are part of the body and we need each other.
