"Today the term militant atheism may be used by theists as an epithet
for the "militant evolutionists who want to silence the idea of
creation". It is sometimes used pejoratively to describe people who
are considered to campaign too actively and outspokenly – or
militantly – for atheism and against religion: "those who advocate the
elimination of religion" as opposed to "progressive, enlightened
people who are simply 'nonbelievers'.

I found myself amused at the bus campaign recently by a humanist association in london that read
'go out and live your lives, stop worrying, there is probably no god'
The people behind it were branded militant atheists for spreading their message. where as the people beyind christian adverts are never branded militants
It did occur to me that an atheist needs to only utter his opinion on god to be branded an atheist militant, where as the religious need to kill someone before being dubbed militant.
I think it is a daft double standard, from whatever side of the fence you view it.
I'm sure RLF couldn't care less. He's only trying to promote his own forum on this one. Few privately owned Christian forums are as successful as this one, so it's only natural that wannabes would try to take from it.
