I gave up having federal income tax withheld from my paycheck.

Couldn't I just give up soft drinks or taking an extra piece of sausage at breakfast?
Of course my son... but don't substitute the sausage with an extra pancake. Go and sin no more. Until lent is over, then of course... take an extra sausage or two.
