This is following up on a post i've made on the marrige forum...
Has any of you ever dated a guy and only a few weeks in to the relationship found out he was not a Christian (you simply assumed they were...)?
If it happened to you - how did it eventually end up? did it "end" up?
(*hopes not...* ::prayinghard:: )
When I married my husband of 23 years... We were both saved believers. We were however two believers who believed differently. He was coming from a religious background I had no intention of joining, and was a newly saved person. I had been saved a while, but had no intention of joining the Catholic church. He had gone to seminary before we met and had hopes of becoming a priest. He chose instead to leave the church and marry me. He left the religion completely more than 20 years ago...
No, to the best of my knowledge, I have never dated a guy. ::bueno::
I have. More than once! ::blushing::

Let's hope not lol.
I never dated a guy, but have twice dated girls who were not saved...neither relationship lasted very long. It wasn't just religion, but the values that go along with being a Christ follower were often conflicting with their worldly values. Then I dated a girl who was a Christian like me. Our beliefs were not exactly in line, but the important things were and we have now been married almost nine years.
In Christ,

Uh I found out my current gf is Catholic. That was kind of a surprise.
Dunno how that's gonna work out. It may not. We shall see.
My first 'real' boyfriend was a non-christian. I had gotten the impression that he was a seeker on the verge of christianity - but he turned out to be a backslidden christian on his very fast way out the door.
If he didn't deliberatly decieve me - he certainly didn't go out of his way to enlighted me either.
And since I was basically missionary dating without realising it, what comeback did I have?
It ended badly with the potential to have ended disasterously. Worse because I was genuinely in love with him, and was viewing it in terms of marriage.
Bad, bad, bad.
