Jesus spent most of HIS time healing people and teaching them, the causes of their illnesses.
And since Christians are to follow the example of Jesus Christ, we should learn all we can how to promote health thru natural means of..... diet, exercise, fresh air, rest, etc.
God is concerned about our bodies, first of all.
1.) Romans 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, [which is] your reasonable service.
2.) 1 Cor. 6:19 What ? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost [which is] in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
6:20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.
3.) 10:31 Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.
Many Christians will be lost, as to how they treat their bodies....did you know that ?
4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.
The health message starts in Genesis, and runs all thru the Bible, into Revelation....did you know that fact ?
God wants HIS people... educated.
I would agree that there are guidelines for good health throughout the entire Bible. Much of the old law seems picky to us, but was actually there to ensure the health of the Israelites. Modern medicine & science has helped us to understand some of those laws better, and I think it's a fascinating thing to study.
However, I do not believe that unhealthy behavior will necessarily send people to hell. Will God send me to hell because I don't exercise everyday, or because I sometimes eat too much? No. The Bible just doesn't say that.

No, the BIble does not tell anyone to exercise everyday.....just 6 days a week.
And that exercise can take on any form, that may be of a benefit, to someone else.

If I played a basketball game every day, would that count?

And how would that help the sick and poor people in your area ?
The Health message was taught and shown during Christ's life on earth, whose example Christians, are to follow.
And also at Creation when He made the diet that was best for us..
