Do any shops in your area have automated production equipment sitting idle?
This could be an opportunity to launch a new product.
An example would be an automated router table in a wood furniture factory. The unused time could be purchased on a piecework basis, allowing the development of a cottage industry in say, doors. The furniture maker makes the parts on his machines on a unit price and the door maker assembles the parts into a door line of their design, their brand. Rural towns are a good place to try to make these arrangements.
The door maker's shop need only be a two car garage.
