I just finished this game, and on the whole, I came to love the story. Quite a bit of substance, and really tackles the themes of parting with the past and revenge, showing what becoming free of that bondage really means--incidentally, free of the ones manipulating those desires (of letting go, desiring vengeance, etc.). I don't agree with it word-for-word, but it's not pedantic about its business anyway.
It's a little ham-handed in some ways (plenty of things that bug me about it) which can make its complex story, but is pretty much as epic as it gets--sober and meaningful. It's worth watching the cinematics on youtube just to watch. ::eatingpopcorn: And there are scenes in this game that blow Star Wars out of the water toward the end.
