Wow. What a difference a day makes.
Was there a note somewhere about the change of the interface? If so I missed it.
Gonna take a while to find everything ....
i like it so far.... but how do you clear "unread post since last visit"?...
Um - where are the quote, bold and italic buttons?????
Um - where are the quote, bold and italic buttons??
Not to mention hyperlink, image, etc. ::pondering::
Maybe we just have to remember the codes, and enter them all the time. ::doh::
I am hoping that turns out to be sarcasm as intended I assume they will show up again soon, I can remember the three you mention, but nothing beyond them.
I also notice that posts are cut off on the right edge. Could that be settings on my computer?
And my dog is missing (avitar), and my signature doesn't show up.
I wonder if we will get the power to upload pics, that would be cool.
Once I have replied to a thread, it's lost to me unless I can remember the thread title or go into the log of my posts from my profile and find it. It's a bit inconvenient. I always appreciated the list of current posts that were always displayed, and the access to the display of new posts which included my own.
There is something similar under the "Show unread posts since last visit" link at the top of [most] pages.
It takes you here:

Yes, but I cannot see whatever it was that I posted. Once I reply, it goes off the list. I can't remember topic titles well, because often what we discuss changes from the actual topic, and so I can't remember where I was, and makes it hard to get back there unless I go and search all the forum sections for it.
Lively, I also dislike this feature. It should be setup like when we modify a post, we hit save and the modified post comes up.

Honestly...I don't like the new forum ::frown::
Miss the feature where it shows the latest posts....
I appreciate many of the new features, but like others really miss the "latest posts" section. Hoping this is still a work in progress, and that it will be added back in. Appreciate the effort and hard work ya'll put in regardless. Thank you!
I have been on 3 other forums when they rolled out new interfaces (TheMarriageBed.com, Christianity.com, Ex Church of Christ discussion boards) and it always took a few weeks to get all the features up and running and the kinks ironed out.
I like the look of the new interface, but I too miss the listing of recent posts on the front page.
It does seem to be somewhat faster...
Oh - on the other forums we had advanced warning that the change was coming. (not the day or hour but "sometime next month ...")
To find the latest posts, go to the top of the page on the left and use the link by your avatar.
There is also a new link there: "Show new replies to your posts." I really like that feature.

I think when you post in a topic, it needs to return to the topic you are in when you post it. Having to go find the topic to continue the discussion is a bit frustrating. UGH...
I like the "show the posts" feature, but why are our avatars not in our posts? I don't know... Not liking the changes too much right now. I'm a creature of habit.

::offtopic::
Maybe its just me, but do I detect a hint of chastising in your statement, if I do, good on ya. rofl
It is nice to be welcomed. ::smile::
It starts one's experience here on a positive note, I urge ya all to check in and just say "welcome" when a new member posts in the introductions section. Further, when you see a strange face on Sunday morning, introduce yourself, and welcome him/her/them. This very action can have profound and long lasting implications. I have to overcome some shyness and do more of this myself. ::blushing::
::backontopic::
I note that "Introductions" is not listed as a subforum under the "General Discussion" anymore but it is still there once one enters.
Perhaps our avitars have been lost to save space. If so, I would propose getting rid of the "mood" icon instead, does anyone pay attention or change it regularly anyway? I have no idea until I hit post in a second how I was feeling when I changed it last.... ::headscratch::
And while were at it, "manna", it seems an unfortunate feature to me. IMO manna should come from heaven, not man; I feel it a prideful endeavor to even look at mine, but one that is hard to resist. ::payattentiontome:: ::thankyouthankyou::

Well I do not usually write codes for sites. I'm a graphic designer not a coder. but, I can design a bannar if the admin needs one and for free! :)
but for now let them fix the colors because the banner should have similar colors to the layout.
I think they are using already-made layouts.

Wow. Apparently I missed one or 2 of the skin changes.
This one is ok, except the text in white on light gray for quotes is totally lost.

They might make an appearance in the future in some other form. We just don't want people feeling attacked by other members or that they're not wanted here (assuming they're following the rules).
OK - got a bug report. This never happened under the older interface.
This morning for the 3rd time, I went to a page here
http://www.gracecentered.com/christian_forums/general-discussion-forum/obedient-wives/45/ (http://www.gracecentered.com/christian_forums/general-discussion-forum/obedient-wives/45/)
and could not back out of the page. I am using IE 8.0.7601.17514 on a 64 bit Win 7 Pro system behind a Federal firewall. (US Dept of Commerce)
What happens is when I hit the button to go back nothing happens and when I click the little arrow to show previous sites all I get is a long list of some ad, always the exact same ad.
I would just about bet money You have an adware virus known as malware. A firewall isn't virusproof.
That is possible but not too likely as the government version of the anti-virus and malware software is pretty beefy.
Anyway it happened again and on the same thread. My back button gave big list of nothing but this:
http://view.atdmt.com/COM/view/3961369 (http://view.atdmt.com/COM/view/3961369)
When you go to that page does it finish loading, or do you see the spinning circle on the tab? It sounds like whatever ad is loading for that page is stuck in some kind of loop.
I tried it out and I have no problems using the back button from that page.
I have not noticed that one way or the other. If it happens again I will look to see.
OK so it happened again, this time on the last page of "Christian vs Christian."
I looked to see if the page had stopped loading (the circle thing spinning) and it had. So I tried "Reload Page" (the circular green arrows) a couple of times and it got out of it.
I would say it is some ad with bad code either in the banner or in the posts.
I notified Admin about the problem.
::pondering::
It's loading fine for me in Google Chrome. You're using IE 8, is that what you said or is it doing it with all the browsers you have.
Have you tried running MalwareBytes (http://www.malwarebytes.org/lp/malware_lp?gclid=CK6suqWpprECFQtU7AodeybYTQ)? The free version is plenty. It's a quick scan so I'm very curious if it finds anything. Lots of viruses out there that try to make ads on a webpage where none are and they are often bad code recognized by your virus software which can keep it from loading and send you into this loop of insanity!
Yes - IE8.
I have not accessed this site in firefox and I never use chrome.
And I cannot load or run anything like that as our permissions on these government computers are very limited.
It seems like if it was malware it would not go away by just reloading the page (which loads up the next set of ads).
Hmmm - I am accessing this forum at home on Firefox 13.0.1. Either we got another change of interface (not a major one) or it really looks different than IE 8 that I usually use.
Different how?
I see the old header on my Netbook and the new header on my desktop. Both running XP and using Firefox 14.
I have IE at work and the background is a light blue-gray. The nested quotes are a couple of different shades of blue, darker than the main text.
But at home where I tried FireFox, the background is stark white and the nested quotes are white and a very light blue background. Without having them side by side it is difficult to enumerate but some of the buttons look different or are moved somewhat from IE.
Okay, I will attach a screenshot of what I see. This is on FireFox 14. I don't know how big the attached photo will show on the post, so here is a LINK (http://imgs.inkfrog.com/pix/rsrarecoins/GCM_shot.jpg) to a large image.

Same on Chrome.
OK - that was pretty much what I see on IE 8. Perhaps my color definition on my monitor at home is a little off.
I know its too late, but maybe this could be done somehow on the next up-do we get here?
When you hit the manna button, it would be awesome if a message could be sent to the person you were blessing about why you blessed them, or what the post meant to you if you didn't want to announce it and go off the OP. ::shrug:: Just a thought. ::smile::
OK - I thought we had put this puppy to bed.
Apparently not.
Today the posting page was changed radically and a "Spell Check" button added that deletes entire posts. Right clicking on a misspelled word (as flagged by windows) no longer brings up the browser's spell check and suggestions for correction.
Wonderful.
Just checking doing a bit of testing
Seems to work like before when I press the reply button, but when I quoted you I got a quick reply window? That is unusual. ::shrug::
My browser's spell check works as before and the sites spell check seems to work fine.
I am using Chrome.
This is the quick reply box I get when I try to quote your post Dave. Notice there is no quote from you. ::headscratch::
If you will notice the post box is at the bottom of every page and the posted posts are above instead of the last ones being right below the edit window.
it also shows color and italics without showing the codes. That is a bummer. I usta like getting in there and editing those by hand .....

That would be a good thing! I still cannot cut and paste while using my normal browser, Firefox.
I also find that sometimes I cannot edit using the little icon on the lower right of the message, either. It goes to a blank message box, and doesn't replicate the text within it.

That's odd. Have you tried using Ctrl-C & Ctrl-V?
It seems to be working ok today.
It was not working or was working depending on which editor box came up. Occasionally the old one with the codes and the posts under the box came up and it would work there just as it did before
I still cannot copy and paste.
