THis is what Mark Driscoll says:-
"One of our culture's powerful lies - fuelled by pornography, sinful lust, and marketing - is that having a standard of beauty is in any way holy or helpful. God does not give us a standard of beauty - God gives us spouses. Unlike other standards of beauty, a spouse changes over time. This means if your spouse is tall, you are into tall. If your spouse is skinny, you are into skinny. If your spouse is twenty, you are into twenty. When your spouse is sixty, you are no longer into twenty, but rather into sixty. And if your spouse used to be skinny, you were into skinny, but now you are into formerly skinny. We are to pour all our passion and pursuit of sexual pleasure into our spouses alone, without comparing them to anyone else in a lustful way."
I though that was amazing and so true ::smile::

Love, love, love it. My husband and I make fun of each other's 'beauty'. He had colon surgery that went wrong and is belly is like a mountain range with peaks and valleys. I tease him about his abs. I don't have enough backside to keep a belt up. He calls me 'lard butt'. I tell him sometimes that we have literally lived out our marriage vows; we've been better and worse, richer and poorer, sick and healthy, sane and insane (oops, was that not in y'all's wedding vows?) and we will be here til death do us part.

I used to work in long term care. The wife was on my wing, and her husband was down another wing. One day she went to get her hair done and stopped by his room. She had to go by the nursing station on the way back to her room, and I asked what he thought of her new "do". She got as giddy as a 16 year old with a crush and beamed from ear to ear as she said "he still thinks I'm beautiful!"
I hope my husband thinks I'm still beautiful when we are 80. ::inlove::

Though men aren't spoken out for as much on this issue, I can say that we also never stop needing to know that our wife thinks we're handsome and desirable to her.
